Ugh, we've all been sick for the last week, so we agreed to do nothing (not that we usually do much, but not even cards or flowers this year). DD and I are mostly better, but H is still laid up, so I'm also solo parenting this weekend in the hopes he's better on Monday when he has to stay home with her while I work.
But I did make reservations at a nice restaurant for our anniversary next month Fingers crossed we're all healthy then.
Checking in from the Outback Steakhouse. Baby is with us.
Lol, fancy!
We ended up at a local pizza place. Service took forever. The baby started fussing, so I had one hand holding a paci in her mouth, rocking her car seat, and listening to a white noise app on my phone to calm her down (while eating one handed). And DH handled toddler negotiations to try JUST ONE FREAKIN BITE of a meatball that toddler previously loved during prior visits. He ended up with French fries.
At least there was beer? DH works a 24 tomorrow, so that was our Valentine's.
So I posted in another thread about how I let H pick the restaurant for tonight. (Daycare is doing parents night out from 6-9.)
OMG mistake. He picked the most outdated steakhouse ever. It's like where old people meet for dinner at 4pm. I recognize that I can't be made because I gave him the choice instead of telling him where I wanted to go, but I just looked at the website. LOLOL
(wilted)
We go a place we call old people restaurant all the time. It is old school food (shrimp stuffed with crab imperial is my fave but they also sell odd stuff like shad row) and $3.75 manhattans. We are always the youngest there by 30-40 years. Not hip but tasty and full of colorfully dressed olds.
They do like to drink though, we went at like 10 once and the bar was packed!

I'm working all day. We had plans to do a date night in tonight but given the amount of work I have left to meet this Monday night deadline I think I'm going to have to cancel and work all through the evening. Boo. Probably no sex either since me hacking up phlegm the whole time isn't going to be a turn on for anyone.

I wept last night at my $11.50 Manhattan.
I know! They are at least that most places here too. Hanging with the olds is a worth it for a really good cheap drink!

Chase has a cold, and my husband is now sick, too. Nods is mostly better, but has a lingering cough. I'm the only one who hasn't been sick at all, but I've been stuck at home so long. My husband skipped the grocery store on Thursday (that he insisted he would go to "for me", since he didn't have a quarter for the Aldi cart) and then just forgot, so I don't even have ice cream. Last night I mentioned 3 times how sad I was to not have ice cream, but I don't think he noticed.
