Earlier today my H mentioned that from now on we're eating super duper healthy. For baby. He then spoke of some possible meals and it appears I'm to be kept on a diet of quinoa and kale.
It is going to be a long time until November 20th.

Also, make sure you don't leave your basement or your kid will turn out gay

Ha, that's at least one thing neither of us are afraid of. Obviously now that it's sinking in he's realizing that things are basically out of his hands for a while.
Be super emotional and cry due to pregnancy cravings. I'm sure you can break him. Men are afraid of hormonal women.
Oh man, I doubt I'll even need to try. I'm the type that cries at commercials when I'm not pregnant. I can't even begin to picture the rollercoaster we've just boarded. Feel sorry for my H! lol

When I was pregnant I was told to eat steak and ice cream a lot. Granted, I was having triplets but maybe your Dr can write a note to DH 'Dear Mr Elleblue, Elleblue must eat ice cream, cheeseburgers, pizza and all the good things for the next 8 months. Sincerely, Dr Baby'
Hahaha. He just came home from work and I expressed some worry about having missed some days of pre-natal vitamins. His response? Don't worry, we already eat a really well balanced and healthy diet (it's true, or at least it is aside from the In-N-Out trips every so often). Lol forever. I guess he is sort of freaking out about it too.

Yeah. I lived on jolly ranchers, saltines and cream cheese bagels for 12 weeks with DD. I ate well after that but there are times you do what you have to do not to dry heave or pass out. Pregnancy can beat you down.

"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
I sure do hope you don't have morning sickness because the only thing I could stomach for the first 12 weeks was bread and cheese.
I've been feeling queasy for the past few days (before I knew I was pregnant), I thought it was my period coming. Nausea is one my symptoms. I don't hold out much hope that morning sickness will pass me by, I seem to be really sensitive to hormonal changes. However, I'm crossing my fingers that I happen to get lucky.

Oh no. I'm going to be a glowing embodiment of fertility and motherhood.

I have my fingers crossed for you too. It is no fun. Diclegis really helped me. Don't be afraid to ask your OB for medicine before your first appointment.
And, yeah, you probably won't be eating super healthy if you're sick in the first tri. It can be rough. Do what you need to to get by and make up for it once you're past the sickness.

Congratulations! I missed your earlier post.
I also cry at commercials when not pregnant. I did not get more emotional at all while pregnant! I was super happy the whole time, pretty much. Like that was my effect from the hormones, I think. I was a bit nicer and upbeat.

Oh, and I also meant to say that my boyfriend started that too about being super healthy while pregnant. I was totally on board with eating more vegetables and fruit and all of that.
But I did want sweets too and he was really annoying about it. Once, I had one chocolate chip cookie and then he hid them. I was pissed!
Just ate some kale, so not my favorite. First time H told me how to eat would be his last time.
I actually craved canteloupe, honeydew, all the vegetables constantly while pregnant. H thought I was eating too MANY fruits and vegies (!). We went in for a check up. Doc says are there any questions? I looked at H and said... ask him. Doc think he's going to get the "how long can we have sex" question or something like that. H just sat there so I told the doc "He thinks I'm eating too many fruits and vegetables." I wish I had a picture of the doc's face. He finally said"..... I don't think you CAN eat too many fruits and vegetables"
elleblue, ha, good luck! I totally wanted to eat healthy while pregnant. Then morning sickness kicked in and the only thing my nauseous stomach wanted was bagels, whoppers from Burger King, Coke and Fanta. I rarely drink soda, so it was so strange how much I wanted it while pregnant. I figured if that's what baby wants, that's what baby gets! Good luck!

Oh man. Thankfully this conversation was more in the abstract so I didn't actually want to punch him or anything. But I am definitely keeping my eye on him now, lol.

Remind him that baby's brain needs fat to develop! Calcium for bones! Protein for muscle! Quinoa my ass (not that there's anything wrong with some quinoa).
The feeling of simultaneously being SO fucking hungry and so nauseous that you know you will promptly lost anything you dare put in your stomach, is one of the most terribly frustrating things ever. You do what you need to do, and pregnancy just plain does weird stuff to your appetite. I survived on pretzels and Wendy's for a lot of first trimester, and I drank a gallon of milk a week during both pregnancies because nothing other than water and milk tasted good.
