LOL. DS doesn't really need to brush his hair, though he occasionally runs a comb through it after getting out of the shower. This is good since his interest in grooming is practically nil.
Also my kid kind of has a topcoat? Or a double coat? Like a terrier? Or maybe a golden retriever? The top layer is pretty smooth and straight, but if you lift it up then there's this crazy cowlicked bottom layer.
Curly underneath, straight on top? Poor kid. She has my hair.
OMG. My best friend is living my exact nightmare of a reason to never be a landlord. She lives in another state but they were renting out their house here after they moved. They were letting a family member live there who recently got out of prison. She really wanted to give him a chance to prove that he had been rehabilitated. Well, he had a parole violation, but not before allowing friends of his to stay in the house with him. He went back to prison and his friends stayed at the house. BFF and her husband started getting notices about the state of the yard and house and came home a month or so ago to check on things. They basically discovered that their house had been trashed and they told the people there that they needed to leave.
They planned a trip to come home this week to clean out the house and fix it up for sale. When they went to the house on Sunday a very drugged looking woman (with two very young kids ) opened the door and called to her boyfriend that someone was probably there to buy drugs from him.
DS's hair is short. I never brush it. He brushes it after his bath when he brushes his teeth. He seems to only brush the back though. Regardless it just hangs the same way.
Even when he is asleep it always looks the same.
PS Yes that is a Cars bed. Everyone clutch your pearls in unison.
Adventures in atheist parenting: we were listening to NPR politics and they said mosque. DS asked me what mosque was and I struggled to explain it. I tried saying it was church for Muslims, but he doesn't know what church is. So I said, "It's where Muslims go to pray." He responded, "I thought preys were with predators?" Oops.
Also, I am proud of myself for this: DS watches TV while he eats breakfast and I get ready for work. Of course, then he never wants me to turn it off when it's time to go. Today, I went downstairs and started getting my stuff ready, and when I wanted him to come down, I yelled to him, then just stopped the google casting so it turned off on it's own. He cried and whined a bit, but eventually made his way downstairs (doesn't like being alone if there is no TV to distract him) and was done with his fit by then. I hardly heard a thing!
My kid calls churches "the buildings with a plus sign on top" so.
DS at age 2. " Mooooomm Moooommm there is a letter t on that building. A little one. "

We have a golden retriever. May I recommend a Furninator brush? Lol!
We never brush B's hair either. Lately I've been slicking it down with water in the morning if I remember, but it just grows straight forward on his head. Styles don't really work.
Same here. I try to comb it or at least smooth it down after bath and first thing in the morning, but it's wavy and it's f'ing stupid humid right now so it pretty much goes everywhere no matter what I do.

Huh, this sounds like my crazy new mom hair. SaveSave
As of yesterday afternoon they were gone and my friend and her family cleared every last thing out of the house. They changed the locks too. It's so, so bad!
I should be working but there is a Hills marathon on MtV. Spencer was such a weirdo with his crystals! haha
Also swim lessons are canceled tonight because the instructors little sister has food poisoning and her parents are out of town and she needs to take care of her. uh huh sure.... I dont care though! We will go this weekend instead.

DD and I both have hair sort of like this. It's wavy, but the waves underneath are totally different and grow in weird. When DD gets haircuts, I always make them check again after it's dry to make sure it's even. I had to go back to the salon after every haircut when I was little.
My kid has three cowlicks that the Kid's Hair stylists ALWAYS point out when they cut his hair. I've stopped trying to fight them and we just sort of roll with his crazy hair. At least he doesn't look like Conan O'Brien anymore.
DD has started expressing interest in helping with things to get ready, including brushing hair. She will take the comb from me and place it on her head, not really understanding how to actually brush her hair. I let her do it then I have to take it away so I can actually put her hair up, or she'll try to brush her ponytail and get the comb stuck. 😂 She also found a hair tie on the floor once and proceeded to put it on top of her head. So cute and funny.
Hair is my #1 concern with having a girl. You mean it's going to consist of more than just patting it down with some water when he wakes up with it sticking straight up? Though if she's anything like her brother I won't need to worry about hair at all for the first 2 years.
My mil mentioned that she wanted a few days with the kids at her house this summer, so since school starts in two weeks DH called and asked her about it this morning. Guys, she is going to take all three next Tuesday morning and then bring them back in time for DD's birthday party Thursday night. I am going to have 48 hours in my house with no kids and DH at work. I'm going to try and get all this stupid insurance exam stuff that I've been working on done ASAP so I can do what I please next week. I am practically giddy.
I also have a babysitter on Thursday and Friday and I'm going shopping by myself all night as soon as DH gets home from work tonight.
I got the Zika handouts at the doctors office today. I can't imagine how pregnant women right in that Miami neighborhood are feeling. It's way too close for comfort for me.
Dear lord, I'm tired. I don't actually know how much I was up last night (freaking kids and animals), but I've had two fountain Dr. Peppers today and I still feel like I could fall asleep at my desk.
We had such a fun morning at Mall of America. We went to the a Toddler Tuesday event and played games and met Dora, then visited Sea Life (we have a membership), got my new watch sized for me, picked up some more running tanks for me, visited the Children's Museum (we have a membership), went back to toddler Tuesday to meet Molly from Bubble Guppies, then visited Crayola Experince before heading home for naps. As long as DS is attached to me he's the easiest baby and I always pack a lunch so DD just eats that while riding in the stroller from one place to the next which is helpful. I didn't get as many steps in as I wanted though so as soon as DD wakes from her nap and DH gets home (any minute now), I'm dropping DD off at the neighbor's to play, leaving DS with DH, and then going for a run.

Stop being so energetic with a kid the same-ish age as mine! You're making others look bad.
