Nope. 4 weeks with DD and 2 weeks with DS. Everyone, baby included, slept better and I found it easier to change their diaper and nurse in the nursery rather than our bed. No regrets!
1- 4.5ish months. He was consistently going to bed early and sleeping well- we were disturbing him when we came to bed. 2- about 3 months I moved her out of our room thinking maybe we were keeping each other awake/disturbing each other. Lolol. No she was just a crap sleeper. We still ended up bed sharing until 4 months when we see trained her, at which point she consistently went to sleep by herself on the other room.
E was in our room for about 9 months but that was because our apartment layout with litter boxes in the other room didn't easily allow E to have his own room, so he didn't until we moved into our house. Second kid probably won't stay in our room for more than 6 months at the longest! But we will probably have kids sharing a room so if future #2 doesn't STTN and E ends up being a light sleeper we might have to rethink that..
We room shared with DD2 until she was 2.5. That was out of necessity, though. She was a horrible sleeper for a long time and we couldn't have her waking DD1 up constantly because they are almost five years apart and DD1 has school.
Nope. Hobbes was in her own crib and room right from the beginning. It worked best for us, and made for one less transition later. I still EBFed, I just went to her every time she woke up motn.
With DD, yes. Only because we are pre renovation and we don't have a room for her and her "space" we created for her in the dining room was a massive fail. DS is 7 and sharing a room meant that he didn't have a "safe space" for Legos and other small toys that are baby hazards. It is fine, but I can't wait to feel like I can watch the tv without waking the kid up.
No. Maybe 2 weeks? I got super annoyed having the extra equipment/baby supplies in our room. Plus it was soooo much easier to nurse in the recliner in the nursery than to nurse sitting up in bed.
Yea, but we bed shared too. About 13ish months with J and 14 mos with the girls. Once they were a 4ish months old they started the night in their cribs and I brought them in with me after their first wake-up.
DD is 7 months old and still in our room in her pnp. She is a great sleeper *knock on wood* and we all sleep fine with her in there with us so right now the plan is to do it for a year.
C is still in our room at 5 months. There is no a/c in her room so she's staying with us at least until the summer is over. She sleeps in her own crib at least
E was in our room for 2m. She started in the swing, then went to the PNP, then was STTN, so we moved her to the crib. (If only STTN had continued....) FWIW, we did all night feedings, changes, etc in the nursery b/c I was more comfortable in the recliner. So she really only slept in our room.
DH and I were both of the mindset this is what we bought a video monitor for. I would sleep with it on, on low, next to my bed. I did that for probably a few months, then eventually turned the sound off, then finally put it on "voice activated." Our old house was small though, so hearing her wasn't an issue.
We did 4-6 months. After that, the kids ended up in our bed halfway through the night much of the time, but they at least started off in their own rooms.
This is timely because the doctor told us yesterday at her NICU follow up to put her in her crib. She sleeps in the pack and play next to the bed now. She has zero issues sleeping there and is a generally quiet sleeper. I like being able to just look over at her if there is any noise.
I'm seriously sad that MH said we should move her to her crib this weekend.
DS1 was in his crib in his own room from day 1 at home.
DS2 was in our room until 10 months (just a few weeks ago) but that was more because the boys are going to share a room and DS2 was still waking 3-4 times a night until recently.
If we ever had #3 (not likely) we would be buying a bigger house and baby would be in his/her own room from day 1. I hate (LOATHE) room sharing.
DD1, no, she was in her crib from the beginning. DD2 was in our room until she was 6 months, I think? And then DD3 was with us until she was around 7-8 months?

LOL, hell no. DD and I slept in the living room her first 8ish weeks, me on the couch, her in the RNP, but that was mostly for the ease of being able to watch TV during late night feedings without waking up my H. She went in her crib in her room after that.
The first one we shared for three months and then he came back during the summer due to ac and reflux issues. Back in his own room by 6 months. The second is still with me and probably will be for a year because they will be sharing a room and his poor sleep is not something I want to subject ds1 to. I am so very over it though
