Dd was out by 3 months. It's been 6.5 long months with ds and it sucks. We plan on transitioning him to his room same time as st after vacation next month.

We did until about 8 mths. And now we are back to room sharing again for the past 3+ months (living with FIL after selling). Ugh. I really want my room back. But at least she is out of my bed?

Ds1 stayed about 8 weeks.

Ds2 is still there and will probably stay about 8 weeks, too. M

H prefers they be transitioned to the crib by the time I go back to work at 12 weeks which makes sense from a practical perspective. I'd be ok sharing for closer to a year, I think. Assuming the kid doesn't sleep well.

No. DD was in her crib at a week old. She was a very noisy sleeper and we couldn't get any sleep with her in the room. As first time parents every little snort and snuffle had us bolting out of bed.

DS was much quieter and I had him in his bassinet beside my bed for the first six weeks. By then he started to sleep longer stretches and the bassinet was kind of an obstacle in our room, so I moved him to his crib.

Nope. 6 weeks with #1 and 5.5 months with #2. I was happy each time to get our bedroom back to ourselves.

DD1 was in our room until 5 months old, DD2 until about 7, and DD3 until 10 months but we were weaning her off seizure meds and for sanity I needed her next to me. My vote is you do what works for you.

I did with dd until she was 6 months and we sleep trained. Well, at 4 months I had her in the other room but brought her back in with me after the first wake up.
This time, she is with me now at 12 weeks but I'm not sure how long it will last, I can say with 100% certainly that it will be a lot earlier than a year though, omg.

My baby is still inside yet (please please please come out soon, I'm so over this) but we plan to room share for a long time. Mostly for practical reasons since we only have one bedroom but we would do it even if we had another room.

It's just the normal here, I don't know of anyone not keeping the baby in their room for the first year and I know several families were the baby still room shares at 1.5-2.5 yrs.

That does sound like a long time! We had DD in her crib her first night home. She moves around a lot and makes a lot of noise when she sleeps. We did get the Owlet and that has been working well so far, so that gives us a little more peace of mind at night even though she is in another room.

Except for tonight, lol, dd is sleeping a long stretch to start the night. As I get closers to going back to work, I think I'm going to move her. Her room is right across the hall.

I lasted a week. I thought it was awful.

My son slept great in his own room. I turned his monitor off in my bedroom a month later, lol. He was too loud and his room is close.

He was in our room in the ARC for 6 months. He was most certainly not STTN then but his room is right across the hall. If going to him MOTN required going up and down stairs I would've kept him in the master longer.

Unfortunately we are. We only have two bedrooms and DD is up around 3-4x a night at a year so I haven't put her with DS because I don't want him to be woken up.

Nope. Hobbes was in her own crib and room right from the beginning. It worked best for us, and made for one less transition later. I still EBFed, I just went to her every time she woke up motn.

We did about 8 months with both because they were both super terrible sleepers and I was lazy. Then I wanted my evenings back and moved them, so I didn't have to worry about when I went to bed or anything.

DD stayed in our room for 7 weeks. After that she was in the crib in her room. It was much better after we moved her. I had a terrible time sleeping with her in the same room because I obsessed over every little noise.

Eek. That would have been really hard for me. We shared a room for six weeks, because that's when I could walk without crutches to get to M's room MOTN.

I did for about 11 months with DS2. The first four(ish) months we slept in our guest room together. Then we went to DH's and my room for about a month. Then we went to DS2's room and slept on a thin mattress on the floor.

My kids are really really really bad sleepers so with DS2 I did whatever got me the most sleep at that moment.

That is definitely not our plan!

DD1 was in her own room/crib within the first week.

She was loud and grunty and has liked her space since birth. I would sometimes sleep with her on the twin bed in the nursery.

I will start DD2 in our room but think I would probably want her moved by the time I go back to work if not sooner. I guess I'm open to longer if she/we need but definitely not a year.

DS1 was in our room for about 6 months before DH convinced me to move him to his room. We all slept better then, his baby noises were waking us up.

The twins were in their room by 3 months. DH was working nights and there was no way I was wanting to get up on my own to deal with both of the babies MOTN while he was at work. I waited till they were mostly STTN.

Now at 6 months we're in an apartment and they're back in our room but in their cribs out of necessity. Cause they don't STTN anymore and so I didn't feel like we could put either of them with DS1. We'll be here till they're almost 1 and already looking forward to having our bedroom back.

DS2 was in our bed for the first year. It made MOTN nursing so much easier, and he would not fall asleep unless he was right with me, so I decided not to fight it.

My DDs we straight to their cribs in their own rooms. They were noisy sleepers and there was no room for a crib in our room.

S was ins bassinet next to the bed for 6 weeks then her crib was in our room till she was 6 months. It was more due to space issues than anything, her nursery was a converted master closet.

I think for #2 we will keep him/her in the bassinet for 6-8 weeks then move them into their room.

We room shared for 2 years! Not by choice, but because we were living in a one bedroom apartment. You do what you gotta do!
