Add me to the failed the 1 hour passed the 3 hour camp. I had a regular OB appt the same day as the 3 hour, so it felt like it went faster. Plus, the NST room was empty so they let me sit in the recliner and watch TV waiting for my draws!
Thanks! No, it was at 3:30pm yesterday. I'm definitely consuming a lot of sugar and probably need to scale it back. I'm craving dairy, so I generally have at least 2 greek yogurts and 2 tall glasses of milk a day, plus ice cream every night
I barely failed the one hour and my doctor sheepishly called me to tell me the results since she was all "oh, you'll pass no problem." I did pass the 3 hour. Definitely bring something to entertain yourself the entire time. They don't want you up and moving around too much. GL!

It's OK - you need a lot of calcium while pregnant, so don't worry about that. Like someone said up thread, it's not the end of the world and best for you and baby to know earlier.
I just liked going first thing in the AM because then at least it was done and I wasn't stressing over anything I ate.

My practice wants you to intentionally carb/sugar load for several days before the 3 hour so you may be totally fine in that respect!
Well, I ended up failing the 3 hour but I'm here to say it wasn't that bad. Actually, I'm pretty happy I did. I was able to still indulge some and gained much, much less weight with my GD pregnancy than my "normal" pregnancy.
I did have to sit there the whole time. BORING.
I second this! I had GD both pregnancies and I think it helped keep my weight in check.
If you have to do the 3 hour fasting, take a snack to eat before you drive home. By the end of mine I was shaking and dizzy and ate a peanut butter sandwich in my car before I felt safe to drive home! (And I did pass the 3 hour).

I got a 148 too and then passed the 3 hour.
I did almost pass out and throw up and my doctor called it after the 2 hr draw (they look for 3 out of 4 to be okay so my first 3 were fine and we skipped the 4th). But I just react really badly to the drink (I had issues with the 1 hour too).
I failed the 1hr and passed the 3hr when I was tested in my first trimester with DD2 and I hadn't yet developed GD (I was tested early due to previous GD).
I failed the 1hr and failed the 3hr when I was tested later at the usual time and GD had developed.
What you eat doesn't cause GD. Hormonal response to the placenta and other factors are what places people at risk for GD.
Yes you'll have to stay at the lab for the duration of the test. There's usually a fasting draw, then additional draws at 1, 2, and 3 hours. 2 failing numbers = a GD diagnosis.
FWIW, the first time I failed the 1hr and then went on to pass the 3hr, my failing number was similar to yours.
My lab opens at 7:00 am, so I showed up then to get it started, that way I could minimize the time I was starving and missing work, lol. I also didn't have to sit in the lab the whole time; I was free to leave between draws. I just walked down to the coffee shop in the clinic, set up my work laptop, and logged onto the free wi-fi so I could get some work done. (My clinic is starting to sound pretty posh now that I'm typing it out, lol.)
To answer your original question, I failed the one hour for both pregnancies but had no issues passing the 3 hour tests.

I was close to failing the 1 hour (like 138 I think) and they made me do the 3 hour and I passed with no problem. I also was free to leave the clinic between draws. Good luck!

I failed the 1 hour with my first pregnancy and passed the 3 hour.I failed the 1 hour twice with my 3rd pregnancy but passed the 3 hour both times. But I had GD with my 2nd pregnancy.
