I've never passed a glucose tolerance test... ever. My primary care doctor says that I'm just 'one of those people' that basically can't handle eating what is the equivalent of two candy bars at once. I'm not at all surprised by this because in regular, non-pregnant life, I'm hypoglycemic.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that in the off-chance you do not pass - The GD diet is really perfectly do-able. It's about matching carbs with proteins so that your body can handle them better. I was completely diet controlled, no insulin at all. And by following the proper eating plan and taking walks around meals, I never one time had a failing number. Yes, I did have to do a teeny finger prick blood test with my meter a few times per day, but it was completely painless. So even if you do fail, keep your chin up. It's really no big deal, just an inconvenience. You still get to eat. And you can still have a bit of sweets here and there. You just have to pair them with good proteins.
