For years I've used a Venus embrace razor and Aveeno positively smooth shave gel. Like, at least 10 years. I have not changed soaps. I occasionally exfoliate with whatever body scrub is cheap at Target. Literally NOTHING has changed.
Now, whenever I shave my legs I get HORRIBLE razor burn but ONLY on the backs of my thighs. Awful. I tried shaving the other direction, but then none of the hairs got cut.

You need to drink more water.
Ok, LOL, really you don't, I just remember one time you were asking about smoothing baby hairs and I said something about drinking more water and the universe heard me and laughed at my stupid recommendation and then decided to curse me with the wispiest of all wispy baby hairs. And now I have wispy hair, drink too much water and love you. xoxo

This sounds ridiculous, but whenever my legs start to hate me, I use hair conditioner as my shaving cream. Brand is irrelevant. I just use the conditioner on my legs, and shave away.

Also are you sure it's razor burn? I actually had some weird infection on my legs years ago. It was tiny red bumps and hurt a lot. Dr gave me some cream and it cleared right up, it was caused by something on my razor

Caused by what on your razor? Like, a metal that's in a certain brand or something?

I'm very fuzzy on the details because I forget, it was like 5-6 years ago. Google tells me it may have been folliculitis, that sounds familiar. But mine was just small red bumps, not the very gross pictures Google has :x

Thanks for the information. I'll Google carefully.
I used to get riddddiculous razor burn every time I shaved. I started using a shaving brush to apply my shaving cream and it works so well. No more razor burn or ingrown hairs!
You should change once a week if you shave regularly, because we cover so much more surface area with legs and pits than dudes do with their faces. Long after I started using DSC I met a customer who works for them, and he explained that to me.

This sounds crazy, but try applying Dove deodorant to the affected area after shaving. A friend just recommended it for bikini line bumps and irritation and it works so well. Get the regular cheap kind, and it must be dove brand.
