Wasn't this discussed at the time? People were annoyed that the page wasn't on lockdown or something for this reason. Posters either didn't care since they knew their pictures and names would be visible or they left the group.
I'm sorry Laz. People are asshole.
No, the page was always a closed group. I think the problem is that if you go to my FB group, you can see my FB profile and if you click my FB profile you can see some (all?) of my friends. You could then click on someone's profile from here and view whatever they make publicly available on GB.
As far as I know, there's no way of getting around that.
No, you can see members if you just click the link, even if you don't join.
I don't know that I can handle outright bashing of LLR leggings which are clearly made of a 50/50 blend of baby seal skin and infant hair.
I think it's clear why LHC continues to lurk/creepy stalk. She got knocked of a pretty damn big pedestal and doubtfully gets that kind of previous adoration on reddit or ivillage.

For people who want to make sure their Facebook is 100% locked down, I recommend logging on to a computer and going to your profile and clicking the button with 3 dots on it and clicking "viewing as". You are able to completely lock down everything but your current cover photo. Your profile picture is still visible but you can't enlarge it. You can also make it so that no one can see your location, likes or friends list. I have mine on complete lock down for non-friends because I'm anxiety-prone and I don't want people to get information from my FB page about my kids.
But for real. Can we take a minute and think about how effing stalker-y it is to follow you on Twitter after this thread? WTF man. I guess she's not attempting to hide the crazy anymore.
And then unfollowed me as soon as she knew that I knew.

How do you lock it down once you're there??
I realized my work and town were still "public." After googling and reading 1 million articles because FB does not make this easy I realized you change it in the about section. Click on like your job and there is a little pencil in the right hand corner when you hover. Click edit and then change that info to friends. Do that for everything.

You'll have to go into your privacy settings. If you're looking to lock down pictures, make sure that they have the friends only logo:
This site has a weird name, but it does have some good advice for your profile. If you've already got your FB created with the same email address you use for banking, etc. (I do), just make sure your passwords are not the same. I try to change my password every 6 months or so.

This is a true statement. Also, some of the patterns are OK. My real problem is understanding why anyone would walk around with giant pizza slices or donuts on their legs and ass.

Focus. Please.
I know, I know. Not a LLR thread. Sorry.
I am sorry this happened to you Laz and it is really fucking creepy.

I can't get my photos to lock down. What am I doing wrong? I'm clicking the pencil but all it does is give me the option to see photos hidden from my timeline.

Don't you have to go back and change all of the settings on your pictures? Is there an easier way to do this?

And you have to change all your "past posts" to friends only. I have had to do this twice though. FB does not make this easy.

I went to privacy settings, then "Limit Old Posts". That changed everything to Friends. It says you can't undo it once it's done unless you manually change each one.

I'm not sure if you can do it this way anymore (Facebook is not working on my browser at the moment for some reason), but if you change the privacy settings on the album itself, that should fix them all. Profile pictures have to be done individually to my knowledge.
