Ugh I'm sorry. Did they test you early b/c of thyroid issues? That's why they tested me early, I was so mad lol
It'll be OK.
No, they tested early because I am overweight and all four of my grandparents and my dad had Type 2 diabetes. So I knew I was at high risk, but I didn't expect to fail so badly.
I know it'll be okay, but being diagnosed so early sucks. Hopefully getting it under control earlier means less chance of complications though.
Yes, it will, this is a good way to look at it.
I'm sorry you have it; I did too (although not that early). The hardest parts for me were the initial habit changes, and then traveling/eating when I didn't have access to my own kitchen at home. Once I had my habits in place, I was able to fly on auto pilot for the most part and you just get through it. (Just like a lot of things about pregnancy. (wilted) )SaveSave

The diagnosis sucks, especially when you get it so early.
It's definitely difficult to switch to the GD diet. I beat myself up a lot during those early days when I wouldn't meet my numbers but eventually you'll learn what works and what doesn't (in my case, I had to take insulin - and that's ok!). I think a lot of people on the boards can give you lots of ideas for meals/snacks.
I'm sorry. i failed the one hour and my ob didn't even have me take the three hour since I was having triplets. Honestly the diet was easy to follow..the worst was taking the time to go to the two classes that were required and journaling at the beginning so the dietitian could check what I was eating.

Ugh I'm sorry. I had GD but I wasn't diagnosed until around 30 weeks. Feel free to PM me if you have questions or just want to complain about it! It sucked but not as much as I thought it would!

This! And it was a great way of controlling my weight. Some weeks I didn't gain it lost a little bc I am overweight too.

Oh man I'm sorry. I had it and also failed the 1 hour terribly so they didn't send me for the 3 hr. For this pregnancy they want to test me early too.
The diet is definitely manageable and I try to follow it loosly when I'm not pregnant since it's a great way to lose weight. Exercising helped keep my numbers down too (walking or swimming)
