Fwiw, I would have assumed it was someone is recently fired who was also kind of creepy vs the nice new guy is just hired.
I guess that's the plot for every movie and tv show ever. But why would someone who you're paying do this? It just doesn't make sense. Of course harassing someone doesn't make sense either. It's probably more likely you would have picked up on new guy sooner if you didn't have creepy architect as a comparison point.
I am sorry you are dealing with this.
Exactly. I still can't help wondering if it's somehow a mix up with new contractor. I should probably have answered it, but it was late and I wasn't sure what to do when I saw his number come up instead of the one I was expecting.
So if I'm understanding, I get why you're nervous, but I don't think they're connected.
If new contractor was working at your house that day, it doesn't seem all that suspicious to me that he would call you. It's quite the coincidence that you would see old architect the same day, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're related.
But why would he block his number AND call at 10pm? Every other time he's called he doesn't block his number.
I would still hope/wait for one more call and answer to be 100% sure. And record it.
He could have been home, thought of something and decided to call but doesn't want his home number known. That is not crazy to me.
I call a lot of clients with my personal cell and block the number. I mean, I can see a very involoved client finding out his home number and calling non stop.
Definitely next timentry. I think that will determine it.
Recording the call sounds like a good idea, but you should research the consent/wiretapping laws in your area. In many places recordings require two-party consent in order to be used in any legal way.
Yeah this too. In PA both parties need consent but it wouldn't stop me from recording it just to have it, if you know what I mean.

I am sorry this is happening to you.
It's the number he always calls me on. It just came up as his first name which is how I have him in my phone so it's not a private number. I spoke to him on that number several times that morning.
TrapCall also sends a text with the number and owners full name.

Okay gotcha. I still think it could be a couple coincidence. Caller id's are perfect. My work caller ID comes up as "blank County Police" I not the police, lol. And what is his motive? He is making money, it just seems crazy. Again. I am sorry

But why would he be calling at 10.42pm even if it somehow came up as blocked by accident? Maybe its me, but that seems late to call a client and if there was an emergency why not leave a message or call back this morning?

are you under the impression that only angry unemployed people sexually harass people?
I was going to say that perhaps contractor butt dialed you at 11pm, but then why would it come up as no caller ID?
I definitely think you need to answer the next call to see what, if anything, is said before completely ruling out architect and deciding it's contractor. I know it's not enjoyable, but it's a necessary evil. And definitely have XH or another male around any time any work is being done in the house.

Among the worst sexual harassment I've encountered has come from my high-level, extremely well-compensated boss.

No, you are right it is odd. If you think it is him, then it is him and you need to protect yourself. Again, I am sorry this happened.

Of course not. Not at all. But clearly she thought it was someone that she had a problem with not the current contractor. If it is him thenot he is really fucking scary as he pretends to be a "nice decent" guy all the while doing this.

I agree with recording the next call and answering. I'm sorry; I wouldn't want to either knowing it may very we'll be lewd but I think I would want to get this recorded before going to the police. Right now the only thing you have on the contractor is that he called late at night and he can try to just explain it away.

And it makes perfect sense to me why his other calls are not blocked. Because they are legit business calls. And this one, he was going to be a creepy fuck (most likely). He probably figured you would never think it was him as he acts nice and never blocks other calls.
I would contact a lawyer and/or police to find out what kind of evidence you need and what they recommend you do for next steps. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Lets not wait until realtor gets a call. Lets take the next call, announce "hey brian!" Errr.whatevs and then when he stammers and hangs up, CALL HIS ASS BACK and tell him...idk....to fake his death pronto??

You're not being helpful.
How not? She clearly is amazed, potentially conflicted that she assumed it was one person but potentially another that she has seen every day. But it was all based on one missed call. I don't think it is wrong to suggest answering the next call to clarify.
The whole fucking thing sucks but she needs to make sure it is the right person. That is the only way to end this shit.
So wait, the calls came before the new contractor even started working on your house? I thought you were talking about the handyman (the one that recommended the architect) this whole time. lol.
Either way, I still think you should look for cameras. And get as much proof as you can.
I'm with having someone check out your house, get as much information as you can, and once you have the information you need to have him charged then go this route the next time he calls:
You get a crank call, pick it up, listen to make sure it's a crank call and blow the shit out of a safety whistle. My mom and grandma both insisted this was the best way to deal with crank callers. They certainly never called back.

The calls started just AFTER two things happened. 1: I told the architect to stop texting me. 2: The NEW contractor took over the job.

This is a great idea. Might even be worth waking up my kid for! Lol.
I agree you should get the house checked. But you also need to ascertain the lewd calls came from the contractor and not the architect. Yesterday's call could have been an error after having hidden his number for something else? Might sound naïve but I regularly hide mine then forget I have. I can see a builder doing that to chase clients etc.
