I got my first No Caller ID call in a week and a half and it's not who I thought it was. I'm SO shocked.
I even saw the architect guy (my prime suspect) at a restaurant when I was out for lunch today so I wasn't at all surprised to get a call and was certain that meant it was him. But TrapCall tells me it was the contractor who was working on my house today. Holy shit.
I guess I'm confused because I don't know your backstory. Why would a call from a contractor that was working on your house today freak you out? Maybe he needed to tell you something or forgot something? Has he worked on your house before and called you?
ETA- Read some previous posts. That seems scary. It was this same dude all along?

I have been getting inappropriate No Caller ID calls for the past few weeks. Initially it was a man's voice asking me what I'm doing. The. It changed to comments about my boobs. Now I don't pick up any No Caller ID calls.
I've had many calls from this contractor, all of which show his number. Tonight's call was at 10.42pm from a No Caller ID number.
I installed TrapCall after the last inappropriate call and tonight's call came back as him. I guess if it happens again I'll answer the phone and see what happens. But I can't see any good reason for him to be calling me so late at night having blocked his number and there be no message left.

Um, what's with the face? I don't even know who you are.
Has the contractor worked on your house before today? I thought this had been going on for a few weeks. Did you ever call the police?
Yep. He started a few weeks ago. But I was SO SURE it was the other guy. I even saw him today! I was practically expecting to get a call. For it not to be him is a real shock.
I did call the police and asked if I could get increased patrols. I didn't get into detail beyond saying I was moving in and have received inappropriate calls. I didn't give a name thank goodness!!!!
Um, what's with the face? I don't even know who you are.
Simple- if you don't know the backstory assume that it includes a damn good reason for being freaked out. Which there is in this case, don't disregard OP's feelings because you don't have the details.

Lol at trying to throw shade because you "don't even know who" the poster is. Great deflection technique.

Whoa. How creepy. I agree with getting the locks changed. Now that you know who it is, can you go to the police with his name?
I could, yes. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The good news is that at least this guy doesn't live as close by as the architect does and we haven't really had any negative interactions.
Thankfully he mostly finished up today, but he is meant to be coming back next weekend for the final touches and to get final payment. I now need to decide whether to effectively fire him or whether to have him come back next Saturday to finish the job and have ex H monitor his every move, get him paid up and out of here officially.
I was hopeful after a week and a half that they were over, but I guess being here today prompted him to do it again? He did it a bunch while I was away and he was working on my place then too.
If I let him back to finish I might show up at the end to write a check and drop into conversation that I have the locksmith and alarm company coming over later or something like that.
My problem is that Verizon Fios can't come for my install until the 14th (WTF?!) and the alarm will do nothing until I have a phone line in place. I wonder if Fios can expedite if I tell them I'm having a security concern? I'm checking the website every day for cancellations, but nothing yet.
what kind of work has he been doing? I would be concerned that he was placing cameras or some shit. I also watch too much SVU.
He took down two walls for me in the living room. but he's had access to the whole house while I was away. I think the floor guy was here quite a lot with him though so I doubt he was doing anything while he was here, but he's definitely had opportunities.
If he calls again I would just answer "Hi Bob, Do you need something?" I assume he is his own boss, if not I'd be tempted to notify them.
He is his own boss on my job but works for one of the highest end builders around here regularly and the realtor's boyfriend knows them both. I need to decide how to approach this.
I don't know if I should try what you suggest, or if I should not let him know that I know. Hmmmmm.
Wow. This never even occurred to me, but now you put it out there, I would definitely hire someone to be sure he didn't.
Ugh. Who does one hire to sweep for cameras? I don't think he would do that, but how can I know for sure?
I really have no idea.
I'm part of the breezy brigade so when people say things like, "he was probably casing your house," I laugh, but in this case I think there is legitimate concern given his access to the house.
Oh man... It's either @fkasmace or iamgrace that is a PI. She might be willing to give you advice on how to find someone to hire and/or do a search yourself.
Wait-so it was never the architect? It was the other guy this whole time? And stfu to anyone who wants to roll their eyes at me or berate me for not knowing the backstory 100%. God you people can be dicks sometimes.

Ok if I'm understanding this right, your realtor recommended a (apparently) super creepy contractor. Who in turn recommended a super creepy architect. You see the architect today, and then the contractor calls you?
Based on observation of approximately 7 seasons of criminal minds, these two creeps are in it together.
My very first thought was that he's probably installed cameras around your house. Definitely fire him, tell everyone what he's done (police, realtor, the builders he works for), and hire someone else to finish the job. Then get your place swept for cameras and bugs.

Yeah, I am confused and I know the backstory.
If turnipthebeet is right I might think they are both in it together too.

no, she ran into the architect in public, but she's not working with him now (ever?). the contractor worked on her house and then the contractor called her that night, and she believes it was him all along. she previously believed it was the architect because he was being aggressive/angry about a different issue, he knew her realtor, etc.
I think. maybe someone will chime in to yell at me now.
