I'm still working my way through Empire of Storms.
I'm honestly not really feeling it. I'm about 50% in and am just not hooked yet like I was with every other book in the series. Not sure why. I have a feeling it's probably me and not the book.
QOTW: In theory, fall. I love boots and layers and coats. In reality we don't get fall though. It's still 90 degrees here.
I just finished The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper. It was OK. I can't help but to compare it to A Man Called Ove, which is much better. I am about half way through Ashfall which is OK but certain aspects of the book are bugging me.
When I live in areas with real seasons, I love Fall. We now live in a micro climate area so the temperatures don't change much. It is kind of funny listening to locals talk about loving Fall and Fall temperatures because not much changes around here. I loved the changing leaves, the cooler temperatures, fall colors (clothing, decor, etc), all the farm fresh veggies, soups, the smell of real wood fire places and cinnamon, all the festivals, etc.....

I am still reading the same 3 books as last week.
The Paying Guests - this book is so long. Faithful Place (Dublin Murder Squad #3) The Daughter's Secret - I haven't read anymore of this since last week
This month has been a bad month, I still haven't finished a single book this month. Hopefully I can finis 2/3 this week and then the third and another book next week. We shall see.
Fall is my favourite season. I love the cool, crisp temperatures, the colds and being able to sleep with the windows open. I live in Canada so we get a pretty decent fall as well.

How funny - I am still reading the same book. I like it, but I'm at 32% and it has been too easy to put it down. It's been three days since I picked it up. I thought it was just me and that I needed to just get a bit further into the book before it hooked me in but I've been too busy with work lately and it's been easier to just listen to an audiobook in my little down time. Guess we'll see when I pick it back up, maybe this weekend.
I am also currently listening to "A Torch Against the Night" by Sabaa Tahir (sequel to her 'An Ember in the Ashes' series) - so far, so good!
I finished reading: Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson (nonfiction - 3.5 stars) Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian (PNR - I didn't care for it, 2 stars)
QOTW: Fall is my favorite too, once it finally actually cools down because then I can wear jeans in comfort but don't have to wear a jacket and can still wear my flip flops haha. It's still a sweltering 90 degrees here too. The seasons don't really change here much, no changing of the leaves, no snow, just hot, less hot, and somewhat chilly for a couple of months (abs and travella - where are you located? I'm in Florida)

I finished Between the World and Me earlier this week. It was really good.
I'm still reading United as One, the Lorien Legacies series. Hoping to finish in the next few days.
I'm listening to Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff. It's okay, kind of meh.
QOTW: Being from and living in New England, I love all of the seasons but fall is pretty awesome. I love fall clothes the best: jeans, boots and a sweater or light jacket.

I finished Cujo and It Ends With Us this week.
I'm currently reading In the Garden of Beasts but I will probably put it down because it's super boring and my hold for All The Light We Cannot See and Winter came in.
My favorite season is Summer by far. I hate fall and spring because they are so unpredictable. It's freezing one day and warm the next. I can't plan my life!
ufcasey, I'm in Texas. I swear we used to get fall but we haven't gotten much of one in the last few years! Today we were all like oh, it's not so bad outside! Yeah. It's still 90 degrees, lol. September has been brutally hot!

I'm still muddling through The Jewel House. The Kindle says I'm 34% in but with all the footnotes it actually means I'm a little over halfway. I'm next on the e-book holds for Tales of the Peculiar, and I cannot wait to get that!
I love the Autumn so, so, so much!!! Bring on all the wonderful things about the fall...except for this year's late arrival. I am DONE with the 80* weather!!! I want to wear my cozy clothes and boots again. The fall is energizing to me, and October is my favorite month. Yay fall!

I've been slammed with readings for my classes this week so I haven't gotten any leisure reading done. I did just pick up Poisoned Blade by Kate Elliot and Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir from the library so I'm hoping to get through one of them this weekend.
Summer is my favorite season. It was always the most exciting season growing up and I guess that feeling has stuck with me.

I'm reading The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman, sequel to The Invisible Library. It's ok, but not as good as the first one.
Summer is my favorite. I love being warm and I love swimming. I don't enjoy the heat right now, though, when we're back to school and work (I work in schools, so being off is another nice thing about summer).
I read The Woman in Cabin 10 last weekend for book club- not something that I would have picked up on my own but it was an extremely quick read so I'm not too bothered by its issues. I'm not disappointed that I'm missing the discussion of this book. I just finished Everybody Sees the Ants today and I really enjoyed it- same author as Please Ignore Vera Dietz so it was uniquely quirky. I would definitely read this again! I just downloaded The Diviners- hoping that I can get all of my work done this weekend so I can crash with this book for a good sit.
I like any season where my feet won't lose circulation if I'm not wearing wool socks.
Still reading Children of the Frost, and started on This is How You Die: Stories of the Inscrutable, Infallible, Inescapable Machine of Death (second of the Machine of Death books), I also listened to 600 Hours of Edward on the way home from my trip this weekend, but I didn't really care for it.
QOTW: I really love the fall, especially up here in the PNW. The leaves are turning, and it's just starting to get a teensy bit rainy, but we usually still have some nice sunny days. It's getting a bit brisk at night, but still pleasant during the day.

I am listening to The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews. I just finished reading this week Dorothea Benton Frank's new book (All Summer Long) and Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton. And I am going to a fundraiser on Tuesday that is a part of her book tour, and I AM SO EXCITED TO MEET HER FACE TO FACE!
My favorite season is fall. My second favorite is spring. However, the clothing choices of fall give it a slight leg up on the competition.
I'm reading Crazy Rich Asians - very slow start for me. Also, We Were Liars- just started it, so I can't say if it's good.
QOTW: Fall is definitely my fav. I'm in Michigan- fall camping is amazing, the leaves, cooler temps, pumpkin everything and cider mills with warm cinnamon donuts with apple cider.
I finished reading A Court of Thorns and Roses. I really loved it. I'm currently reading Written in my Own Heart's Blood. This is the 3rd time I've checked it out from the library and I'm having a hard time making headway. I'm really only reading it until A Court of Mist and Fury is available to check out. lol!
QOTW: Fall! I love fall! Our winter is pretty much fall so fall lasts a long time. We'll have a few weeks of legit cold (for Texas) but it's mostly fall-like. Of course fall weather around here doesn't really get started until the end of October so it still feels like summer.

I finished Heirs and Graces this week and started Queen of Hearts, catching up with the Royal Spyness series. I really enjoy them, though I find it sometimes ridiculous how the characters just happen to be where Georgie is.
QOTW: Winter is definitely my favorite season, with a close second to fall. I love cold weather. I can't stand to be hot. It's spring here in the Southern Hemisphere, and while I like the riot of color from all the blooming flowers, I do not like the idea of coming summer. Here, spring is definitely my least favorite season as it's creepy crawlie season and magpie swooping season.

I know this book get so many recommendations, but I could NOT get into it. I gave up. I was annoyed with it let me know how it turns out!!!

I read this for my book club and really really LOVED it. especially the 2nd half
I'm rereading HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm enjoying it. It's one of my favorites in the series.
QOTW: Fall. Cozy clothes, pretty weather, can sit outside in the sunshine all day and not be sweaty. Plus all the good candle smells and there's Halloween and Christmas. I love sitting on my porch with the pretty leaves and crisp air, a warm drink, and a book.

I finished Hands Free Mama and Final Appeal this week. Both were 3* for me. I will start The Sympathizer for my book club next. I'll miss the meeting so I'm not in a huge hurry to pick it up even though it looks good!
QOTW: probably spring because winter is over! I hate being cold. This is our first week in pa that the temps will in the 70s all week and I'm pretty happy about that too!
I'm currently reading In the Garden of Beasts but I will probably put it down because it's super boring and my hold for All The Light We Cannot See and Winter came in.
I have tried to finish that book for 2 YEARS. I've even taken it on several long overseas flights and I just can't. I couldn't put down Devil in the White City, and had so much hope for In the Garden of Beasts. Maybe one day I'll finish it.
(new here, trying to get back into reading)
I started My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem. It's great so far.

It's hard to get a story line out of it and there is so much name dropping that it's nearly impossible to keep track of everyone! I have like 80 pages left so I hope the next time I pick it up I can just power through and get it done.
Late to the party here. I was reading The Bourbon Kings by JR Ward and just finished it (Sat night). Frustrated that things were left hanging. I know it's a series, but I expected a few more pieces to be wrapped up. Hopefully my book club book arrives soon so I can start reading it.
QOTW: I can never decide, I think I like the few weeks around the big changes in the season, during multiple times of year. the appreciation for the last warm days of summer but the bright blue sky and yellow leaves of fall, the first snow, Christmas season, the unexpected warm days of late winter, all the blooming trees and bright sunshine of May. I Basically like bright sunny days in all seasons. And the anticipation the change in seasons bring.

I just finished Empire of Storms. It was good and I did read all 700 pages in a week, but I didn't LOVE it. A Court of Mist and Fury is still the hands-down winner (the next one is out in May!).
Autumn is my favorite season, mostly because I grew up in Vegas where there is no autumn so it's still a novelty.
Summer Island by K. Hannah, I read her Nightingale and Winter Garden which I liked, too.
I'm trying to read Don't Sing at the Table: Lessons I Learned from My Grandmothers. I wouldn't recommend it.
I would pick Spring, Summer is too hot, Winter is too cold, and Autumn even with the pretty fall colors is depressing since it equates with things dying.

I agree. I really like the ToG series but I love the ACOTAR series.
