Happy Football Parade Day! (though I think it is actually called the "Friday Before the AFL Grand Final Holiday.") And if you're not having a public holiday for football game celebrations, I hope you have a good Friday.
So what are you reading on the last day of September? Are you enjoying it?
QOTW: When you fly do you do the crosswords/other puzzles in the in-flight magazines?

I'm reading Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4). It started off good and exciting but it's kind of getting repetitive. Get caught, excape, rinse, repeat. It would be different if it was adding to the story but it's not.
QOTW: I haven't flown anywhere since 2008. I would read for most of the flight. Next time I fly it will be with my kids so I probably won't get a choice of what I do.

I'm reading The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
I'm listening to Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi
Both of these are for the Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge that I'm doing this year.
QOTW: I usually just watch movies or close my eyes and listen to audiobooks on planes. I find it too loud and distracting to read sometimes. I actually read more in the airport waiting area than on the actual flight.

I'm reading a Hannah Howell romance in book and started re-reading All Creatures Great and Small on my kindle. (I'm recovering from surgery, so stuck on the sofa and expect to get a lot of reading done in the next weeks.)
QOTW: No, I usually read. I feel badly doing the crossword because that means no one else can, but by that logic, no one can ever do the puzzle. That becomes a puzzle all it's own in my brain, so I just look for my book.

I'm still plodding through The Jewel House but I'm about 3/4 of the way through now. It feels like it is taking forever! I've also started listening to Tales of the Peculiar on audiobook in the car, and I swore the narrator was Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), but it's not! The reader sounds just like Hagrid at parts.
I'll do the crossword but not the sudoku. Those magazines are free and I'd imagine you can get a fresh copy if you ask the flight attendant. I mean, people sometimes take them with them, so I figure they have to have a small stash somewhere.
I'm (re-)reading The Fires of Heaven, which is Book 5 in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.
Listening to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I needed something lighter after Of Mice and Men!
QOTW: If I'm alone I'm usually reading or working, but when I fly with H we often do the crossword together. We tend to know different types of answers so that makes it more fun.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, and it is excellent!
Once my son finishes it, I am reading this. Can't wait!
I'm currently reading The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I'm going to keep reading. I'm only about a quarter of the way through so far and it is a struggle to try to remember who everyone is from the first 2 books, but I was too lazy to look for a recap and was hoping I would just figure it out as I went along.
I'm about halfway through Letters from Skye. It is light and entertaining, a nice break from schoolwork. We leave for Scotland tomorrow so it seemed like a good choice.
I have never been good at crossword puzzles so I just flip through the magazines. The airline we are flying for this trip has zero in flight entertainment but I have 2 books, a movie, and 7 TV episodes plus school stuff so I should be fine!

I'm reading The Sympathizer, but I might put it aside for some light reading or no reading, as I had a baby Wed and it wasn't grabbing my attention previously. Qotw: nope, read or sleep

You gave birth on Wednesday?
Yes, maybe I'm being over-ambitious, but I read a bit after I had twins!
I gave up on A Spool of Blue Thread. It was just too mundane. If I hadn't just read Some Luck I might have tried to push through it, but it has too close a feel to the same writing style as Some Luck and that book took me a long time to push through. I'm not ready for another slow page turner.
I just picked up The Luckiest Girl Alive from the library so I might start that tonight.
Qotw: I don't read or do puzzles. I get motion sickness when I try to read or focus on print in a moving vehicle, even large planes. I usually watch whatever they show for a movie or rest.
Well, I post most frequently on this board, but not as close as many of you are!
It's just the double take. Like you're listening to your friend give you a run down of the weekend. "I had coffee with Sarah, stopped by Target, went out for lunch, had a baby, then finished a book in the evening." Wait, what?
I'm seriously impressed that your actively reading, that's awesome. Especially after twins last time. I didn't know what end was up for like 2 weeks.
I'm reading The Ballroom by Anna Hope. It's good so far but I haven't had much time or energy got it this weekend. DD and I have Monday off, so we will enjoy some reading time on this long weekend.
QOTW: I haven't been on a flight in almost a decade, but I don't usually like crosswords unless someone else starts them first.
Read in the past week: A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir - ya/fantasy book #2 in series; 4 stars; I liked the first book more but this still kept my attention and I liked it Losing It by Cora Carmack - NA romance; 3 stars; I prefer Colleen Hoover's Slammed over this (student/teacher romance) Abducting Abby by S.E. Smith - free pnr book; 2 stars; just not my cup of tea but definitely the first alien/dragon shapeshifter hero storyline I have ever read ha!
QOTW: I do the Sudoku puzzle, maybe. Otherwise just reading or sleeping or dealing with children depending on the flight circumstances

I am still reading Beach Music by Pat Conroy (recommended here!) I am loving it, but it is LONG! It is so captivating though. The lives! The experiences! Gah!
QOTD: Meh, sometimes? I dont know, not something I normally do, but have done it (if that makes sense)
