I can't even say his fucking name. Abortion will become illegal at some point, or at least very difficult, right? Gay marriage repealed? Mexico is not going to pay for a wall. Will we? Will that actually happen?
ETA- and ACA will be repealed.
None of this will happen. Trump has actually flip flopped over the years on his stance on abortion. I never got the sense that he is strongly anti abortion, he just took the pro life stance to appeal to his base. He will push it off as low priority and probably never address it during his presidency. Same with gay marriage. The wall will never happen because it's a stupid idea and not remotely possible.
Trump will focus on trade, taxes and immigration because that's really all he cares about.
If there is a terrorist attack, expect him to retaliate with the fire of a thousand suns but I think the joint chiefs of staff will do a pretty good job of reigning him in, otherwise.
He sells political appointments to the highest corporate bidder. Rules protecting people against sexual harassment in the workplace become irrelevant. So long IRS. So long EPA.
I keep wondering how his administration is going to deal with FOIA.
All fairly minor considering how he will wreak havoc on foreign affairs.
I will say that I don't think he's going to work well with congress. He's going to be pissed at hell at Paul Ryan and others and I think he's going to try to make them look bad. He's not going to rubber stamp every bill congress sends his way. He's going to want to make them squirm and pay for their half-assed support.

I want to believe you but I just can't.
He's got to throw a bone to the deplorables who got us in this situation in the first place.
ACA will be repeated by reconciliation by February and 20 million people will lose healthcare. Birth control and other preventative care will no longer be free. People will die.
Congress will immediately pass a bill to allow discrimination against gay people.
Taxes will be slashed on the wealthy and increased on the middle class
Entitlements will be slashed or made block grants so that poor people will not be able to feed their children.
Abortion will become much harder to get, if not outright illegal in some states.
The Supreme Court is lost for a generation. The voting Rights Act will never be replaced making it easier for states to disenfranchise voters.
Citizens United will never be repealed, so billionaires and corporations will control campaign outcomes.
And I think they will prosecute and jail Hillary Clinton.

Exactly this. He doesn't give a shit about social issues that don't affect him. There will be no gun control, no development of clean energy. I worry that our enemies will take advantage of us.
It doesn't fucking matter if your think Donald trump won't focus on abortion. Because the republican Congress will and he will sign it. Planned Parenthood is going to be defunded and women across this country will lose access to preventative health care.
Remember Mike Pence signed a law requiring women to have funera devices for miscarriages. Women are not safe. A right to an abortion (or birth control) is at stake and if you aren't worried, you are t paying attention.
Do you think he will do the actual work involved in being president? I can't see him putting in the time. He seems like he has zero interest in doing any actual work or even a real working knowledge of what it involves.

He doesn't have to throw a bone to anyone. I truly believe he will not seek reelection. He really didn't want to go through this the first time. No way he does this a second time. Trump knows how tight the race was, he doesn't want to risk losing the next time around. If he had lost this time he would have said it was rigged and he didn't want the job anyway because his life is so awesome. If he loses after his first term, then it is an absolute reflection of his ability to govern and no way to spin it otherwise. The sitting president can't claim the system is rigged. So I predict Trump does what he wants, which is trade, taxes and immigration. He ignores the rest. And he doesn't need to appease anyone because he doesn't need to seek reelection.

I don't think he cares about them. I doubt he's looking for 2 terms here. He just wanted to get the power and prove that he could. Now he has. This is all an ego boost for him, I don't think he cares one bit about this country or the people that put him in this seat.

I agree with you that Trump has flipped flopped and doesn't necessarily feel strongly about these -- but Congress does. They're the ones who will put together the legistlation and present it to him. And (1) I don't think Trump has any real principled opposition to passing abortion restrictions, or defunding PP, or other items on the GOP social agenda and (2) because of that, I expect that Trump will sign a lot that GOP Congress presents to him as long as they are appropriately deferential and feed his ego. All he cares about is the status and power. As long as Congress feeds into that and plays their game, he'll give them a blank check unless he can see how it is directly problematic for his own interests.
Do you think he will do the actual work involved in being president? I can't see him putting in the time. He seems like he has zero interest in doing any actual work or even a real working knowledge of what it involves.
Mike Pence is going to do a lot of it.
Mike Pence who signed a bill in Indiana giving jail time to same-sex couples who APPLIED for marriage licenses.

No I don't and frankly that scares me more beciase Pence is a proven social conservative who is very anti-abortion and SSM. if he is running things we will absolutely see those two decimated. some red state will wait for the SC appointment and then do a test case to get it overturned/restricted.

This exactly. Someone either in this or another thread mentioned that he has a blank check and I absolutely see it less that way, and more that congress has a blank check now.

Liking because I think everything on this list is likely. And it breaks my heart, particularly the lack of medical care and babies not being able to eat.
For the ACA: If he repeals it, does that mean everyone instantly loses healthcare? Or would they be able to finish out the year, do we think? I think that if it is literally that the insurers will kick people off the rolls instantly (because people will no longer be able to get it without subsidies) I could see that it is *possible* that Congress tries to get Trump to hold off for a minute so they can put an (ineffective, not actually useful) "alternative" in place to placate the masses vs. deal with what will be a significant outcry and some bad PR stories. But I'm not even holding my breath on that.
Why does everyone keep saying he doesn't have policies? He has Pence and Ryan. He told Pence he would be in charge of foreign and domestic policy, and he told Ryan he would support the Republican agenda. He might not have proposed new policies, but they are right there.
I'm with toepick on most things-- the ACA will be repealed and discrimination based on "religious beliefs" will immediately be passed. So I don't think marriage equality will be revoked (unless it goes before the supreme court again) but clerks won't be forced to issue them and everyone will be free to not serve gay people, women, minorities, etc. I am especially terrified for the Muslim community, who it will also be legal to discriminate against. I am very worried about any access at all to abortions.
I am personally preparing for fascism and Nazi Germany, though. In that case, I will be joining the resistance and probably end up jail for helping Muslims escape internment camps.

I'm not sure. But expanded Medicaid is a goner and all those people will lose health care and be unable to afford anything else. And people will die.
He will be a puppet to the republican party. I would actually relish him going a bit rogue. He is in SO FAR over his head now. He will do whatever they tell him to do.
