It's really hilarious that the "patriots" and "nationalists" are totally okay with another country (Russia, freaking Russia, LOL!) screwing with our shit.
Oil and money makes sense and is less terrifying than some alternatives. Oil is also Russia's power right? The fear they could cut off oil pipelines to Europe as well as the fact that they were recently losing money as oil prices went low (that was reported a few years ago). Isn't Russia basically run by rich organized crime types.
Are the Republicans so stupid that they don't realize what a dangerous game they are playing by looking the other way on this or do they just not care and think they can handle it? Do they want to live in a country that is headed by a puppet who is manipulated by our historic enemy? The story itself is disturbing but the lack of response by leading Republicans takes it to another level of scary.Â
Please god let this be the scandal that pushes the electoral college into going rogue.
This is where I am. I can see some politicians doing anything to keep their power. But I just don't understand how it can be almost the entire party. Like aren't there any with a conscience willing to work with the dems to stop Trump (and Russia) from fucking up our country? Not all R's are mustache twirling villains like Ryan, so why are they going along with this?

This literally makes me want to throw up. How can members of our government be turning a blind eye to Russia? It actually boggles my mind. The Patriot mindset is primed to resist the influence of foreign governments and set-up for war. How is any of this okay?!

I'm reading so much about this on twitter and I'm so pissed. This is stuff you see on tv shows, not real life and surely not in our country. McConnell needs to resign for threatening to blame this on politics, putting Obama in a difficult position. Though if I were Obama, I would have rather dealt with all those accusations than risk giving the presidency to a reckless authoritarian wannabe.
This might sound crazy, but I'm a little worried about Russia blackmailing Republicans with the info that they stole. Why else would they have hacked into the RNC as well?

Honestly the more front and center this is, the more obvious it is, the more he pisses off the CIA and intelligence community, the better it is for the country as far as I'm concerned. His rabid followers won't care, but they aren't 100% of his voters or R voters and it puts more pressure on the Rs to actually not fall in line and gives them good reason. What they do is anyone's guess, but it's clear that there are at this point two factions forming within the R party and I would expect that those who are currently quiet may be waiting until the electors vote because they want to guarantee they can get Pence vs. giving a reason for electors to vote their conscience or Hillary or whatever. They want to be blameless to the R voters which is why they want Trump to hang himself and won't do shit between now and the inauguration unless they have integrity (Lindsey Graham).
I'd rather have the CIA on my side, so keep digging that hole, Trumpy.
Really having the intelligence community at odds with our fascist president is great for us.
Right? What an odd response by him. Why doesn't he distance himself from it? Claim he had nothing to do with it, but what's done is done and the election is over. Then, say something about making sure nothing like this happens again. This claim that the CIA is wrong or making this up is just bizarre and seems like a bad move on his part.

I'm hoping the more government agencies he pisses off the more we can undermine and fight him. I think this DOE witch hunt is not going to play well, either...the more stealthily he does things, the worse/harder it is IMO. So keep being a bull in a china shop you ignorant toad.
His core supporters won't care, but that isn't all voters.
Tillerson will be paired with former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton as his deputy secretary of state for day-to-day management of the department, one source added.
The more dysfunction the better as far as I am concerned. I keep reminding myself that these giant bureaucracies are not one person he picks, and as much intra-government and intra-party strife as possible is probably the best outcome for this country.
How fast can they move on this? Obama has what, 40 some days left? What can be done?
On the radio last night the local station had people calling in that if the EC did anything against 45 there would be bloodshed and war.
Bloodshed and war! :::spits::: Taking up arms to stop a fascist Russian puppet from ascending to the presidency is looking less and less crazy by the day.
