Some of my favorites are cream cheese with a jelly poured on top - served with pretzels or crackers. Cheeseballs Meatballs in a crockpot Mini pigs in a blanket For Thanksgiving, I made this amazing chutney with cranberries, bacon, walnuts that was served with crostinis. It was a huge hit and was tasty cold or warm.
I always make a dill dip with pumpernickle bread when I'm having parties....people love it and they also feel full because of the bread.
It's just one cup sour cream, one cup mayo, 1/2 teaspoon of beau monde seasoning, and then a shitload of dried dill weed seasoning....I usually do about 2 tablespoons, but you could do more or less depending how you like it.
This is always a hit. I mix in 2 T ranch seasoning & a chopped green onion with the cream cheese and sour cream. I also add shredded cheddar cheese and black olives. Never any left over! I took to a bbq this summer and the guys topped it with pulled pork..... bc why not???

I made this crab dip for a party last night and people went nuts for it. The recipe calls for you to heat it and put it in a bread bowl but I just served it cold in a regular bowl with bread chunks for dipping. Also added: 2T sour cream, 1T lemon juice, 1t Old Bay for extra flavor.
Artichoke Dip - it is SO good! And easy. It goes in the oven but stays pretty warm for a while and is good unless it gets ice cold.
ETA:
Artichoke Dip
8 oz artichoke bottoms 1 C. parmesan cheese, plus extra for top ½ C. sour cream ½ C. mayo 8 oz. cream cheese 2 cloves minced garlic (or to taste) 2 jalapenos
oven 325º
Combine half the artichoke bottoms and all remaining ingredients in food processor. Blend ingredients well. Chop remaining artichoke bottoms into small pieces. Stir chopped artichoke bottoms into blended mixture. Spoon mixture into casserole dish. Sprinkle with extra parmesan cheese. Bake 30-45 minutes or until bubbly & lightly browned on top. Serve with chips, triscuits, or pita wedges.

Everyone make such fancy treats. If I made most of these things, they'd go untouched.
These are two things I always make
Cheese ball 1 tub of Schuyler's bar cheese 1 pkg. of cream cheese, softened 4-6 slices of bacon, cooked, chopped 2-3 green onions, chopped 1 bag of shredded cheese cheese
Mix all ingredients well and wrap in saran wrap until chilled. You can roll it in sliced almonds, if you like that.
Chili cheese dip 2 cans of Hormel chili, no beans 1 pkg. Cream cheese, softened 1 bag of shredded colby cheese
I had a great app this week I plan on bringing to Xmas eve. Trader Joe's honey goat cheese log sprinkled with pistachios and drizzled with honey with assorted crackers and baguette, side of fig butter on the tray. Easy and so delicious

I was going to suggest a very similar artichoke dip recipe. It is ALWAYS the first thing gone at the parties I bring it to. And as long as it is not really cold it is fine. I have also put it in a mini crockpot and it stays warm all day. Easy peasy.
French bread with different soft cheeses and salamis.
Veggie crudite.
bacon wrapped chicken bites (served with BBQ sauce to dip in).
We have an app only party each year and we're having jalapeno poppers, candied bacon, guac and chips, shrimp cocktail, spin art dip, ham and swiss sliders, and whatever else people bring. (Yes, gasp, my guests bring dishes!)
I can do a lot early and only need to nake the poppers and sliders (but all premade in the am) right before.
