I have got so much to do before Christmas. Slight panic over here right now. At least we got the tree fully decorated yesterday...
My father's condo is officially for sale. I'm not going there at all this week and focusing only on my family and the holidays. I'll go on the 29th to wait for the salvation army truck to take whatever furniture they want, and after that the executor is just going to pay a cleanout company to handle the rest. I can't wait for this part to be over.
DD2 has been sick for almost 2 weeks and as a result I haven't slept more than a 3 hour consecutive stretch in that long and I'm averaging <7 hours of sleep a day (thanks fitbit). And that number is over-inflated since it seems to think I go back to sleep when I'm actually nursing/rocking her back to sleep, which is a 30-45 minute evolution at the moment. Ugh. REALLY hoping she's feeling better for Christmas.
Stella has a stuffy nose and a cough, that I assume is from post nasal drip. She def doesn't feel well and is off, she slept till 7:30 today! We actually have her 15mo visit this morning so I can have them make sure it's just a little cold. Poor baby.
5 working days left in 2016! And 5 working weeks until I have this baby. Yikes!
Both kids were up before 6, and DS1 had a 10 min meltdown before 6 too. Ds2 has his one year well check today, right during nap time and I have to bring ds1 with me because preschool is out for TWO AND A HALF WEEKS. He doesn't go back until January 5th. I don't know who planned that but it is a TERRIBLE idea lol. I'm basically already counting down to when I can have a beer later.
At least H has tomorrow and Friday off? We have tons of wrapping to do but we should be able to knock it out after the kids are in bed. The only good thing about having early risers is that they also go to bed early. The other night they were both out before 7:15.
I haven't nursed DS at morning wakeup for 5 days now, and he slept in until 6:45am. Compared to his normal 5am wake up, I am ready to do cartwheels. His crib aquarium was on when I went in to check on him around 6:15am, so he was up at some point. I really hope he starts to sleep in longer knowing that he no longer gets an extra hour of sleep curled up next to mom.
I've only nursed him twice over the weekend, before naps. Good chance we are done because I can't imagine me having much of a supply come next weekend.
I would have thought you were crazy if you told me I would still be nursing DS at 24 months in those first few weeks after he was born. We had an incredible rough start together, but I'm happy with how it is ending.
My 2 year old refused her nap for the first time yesterday. She was brutal, but was sound asleep for the night by 6:05. She was up with a coughing fit (for the cough that apparently will never end) for 45 minutes middle of the night while I tried to help her. Poor thing is still off.

So much to do this week! Lots to get done at work, having Christmas Eve at our house and I've barely planned anything, last minute shopping, wrapping...! Then I stupidly threw out my back on Saturday shoveling. It was more like pushing snow and I had only been doing it for 1 minute. Between back pain and the constant nausea/throwing up, I'm basically screwed this week.
DD said her belly hurt this morning, hoping that it was just because she was hungry and not getting sick. I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle at this point
We had a good weekend, now I have a million things to wrap up at work before the holidays. We have Friday off, so it's a short work week, yay!
We ended up changing our flight to Buenos Aires. We were supposed to be flying on the 27th, now we're flying on the 24th, but on business. We get to spend more time with family, and we actually got a credit. I guess nobody wants to fly on the 24th! S is too young to notice the difference, so we took it.
AmyRI, I hope the condo sells soon and it's a smooth sale for you.
I think I have another yeast infection for no reason (not on antibiotics recently). Last night was so uncomfortable after the first dose. Ugh. This is my one remnant from having a kid. I've tried probiotics, but they just mess up my stomach.
Also I haven't slept well in days and last night I had this awful dream DH came home and said he was leaving us and wouldn't tell me why. I kept asking if there was someone else and he wouldn't answer. After I got over my sadness my dream self decided to take him to the cleaners and keep the house. I woke up with a horrible sense of dread. It was so weird. I usually I dream about stupid shit.
H and I grocery shopped for hosting Christmas yesterday and saw Rogue One.
I was tweeting back and forth with my boss last night about needing a gift for C to pass out in class on Tuesday. She just texted me a pic - she drew and cut out exactly what I wanted because I couldn't find it online!
H is officially on sabbatical and doesn't have to go into work until September 2017. He'll pop in for a few things of his choosing but that's it.

My body abruptly quit making milk so I'm pretty sad about that. It's been on a downward spiral for about a month and now I don't even get a let down. ARGH! I wasn't ready and we haven't been super great about transitioning to formula so now she's kind of just getting all formula cold turkey. The same thing happened with my son but I vaguely remember me having more time to prepare. Oh well, she'll be 1 in 3 months and she is thriving. She is also not a cuddly baby at all so I don't think she cares very much. But she is my last baby and I so badly wanted to go to or past a year.
This weekend was my sons' Christmas program for preschool and I cried and cried. What the hell? My husband cried, too!
ssmjlm , maybe try a round of diflucan instead of OTC topical meds for the yeast infection? And that dream sounds awful!
It's actually better today, but if I'm still a mess tomorrow I'm going to call and see if they can call something in. Normally it's right after antibiotics, but this is just a random one.
We are home from a weekend in Las Vegas visiting my sister. I think everyone was glad to be in their own bed last night. I slept 11 hours and I woke the kids up at 12.5 so I could rush them out the door for school.

I'm a huge Christmas mess right now. I need to make a spreadsheet or something because I have no fucking clue what I even have or who I still need to buy for. OMG.

It took 4.5 months and a call from a lawyer, but the final autopsy report for my brother was finally released today. Heart attack. No underlying reason for it, just bad luck. But at least it doesn't appear to have been caused by anything heritable, so my nephew isn't likely at any increased risk, so at least there's that.
Hugs cincodemayo, that sucks that it happened unexpectedly! And hugs to you too, timorousbeastie. I imagine that knowing doesn't necessarily help, but at least it's not a question anymore.
I'm trying to decide if I tell my boss that I'm pregnant this week when we have our 1:1, or if I wait until after the new year. Everything looked good on the NT scan last week, we're still waiting to hear back on the blood work though
I also got the airline to give me a full refund for my Washington D.C. trip so even though my Inauguration plans are dashed I'm not out any money thankfully.

This is where I'm at right now (Christmas mess). I keep a few notes on my phone and update them as needed (Christmas ideas, Christmas purchased, Christmas to do, Christmas Eve menu, etc.) which has been fairly helpful. But I am so disorganized with where things are in the house and getting my act together. It took me literally hours today to find, wrap, and send the gifts (spending almost an hour at UPS) that needed to be sent. I have a few more small things to send in envelopes at the post office. And still need to send more Christmas cards out.
Does anyone have advice on shipping a package from the US to the UK? I priced it out at UPS today and was quoted $311 to send this package. It's 2 small gift boxes with 2 pairs of HA jams, a dress, and a sleeper for a friend's kids gift. I'm not too worried about it getting there by Christmas since I got wintery HA jams instead of Christmas and the other items are a new baby gift.
I just bought all the groceries I should need for making my class breakfast on Wednesday (last day before break), dinner for my family after church on Friday, the dishes I'm bringing to Christmas Eve, and all the food for hosting on the 25th. Best part is I shopped online and tomorrow afternoon I just pull up an they'll bring everything out to me! I can't say enough how much I love this type of grocery shopping especially a week like this. Whoever came up with the idea is amazing!
We bought Val a pair of light-up Spider-Man shoes, but he only gets to wear them once he fills up his prize jar. He gets to put one piece of (uncooked) rigatoni in it every time he has a good morning. Morning #1 went well.
We were planning on doing this eventually, but it happened in this moment by accident. He saw them at Fred Meyer and I didn't want to power through a tantrum, lol.
I was feeling pretty confident about my 16 month old starting to string 2 words together and then saw a FB friend post her 20 month old saying "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" with perfect punctuation. Show off!
I had an abdominal ultrasound today and the tech asked if I have ever had kidney stones. I said no and she said, "huh. Last time you had this ultrasound you had fluid in your kidneys"
Ummmm....okay? Should someone have told me that?? lol

Putting two words together is great at 16 months! But I'll commiserate with you - DH's cousin has a kid the same age as DD (26 months). He's super verbal, well behaved, and has been potty trained for months. And then yesterday the cousin posted a video of him riding a two-wheeled bicycle! I know DD is totally on-track developmentally, but dang, it's so hard not to compare.

Send it USPS and declare no more than $20 value per recipient listed on the outside of the package. USPS should be your cheapest way and declaring a low value will make sure the recipient won't owe VAT (taxes) on your gift.
Ah, DS has a cold but has also been refusing to nap everyday since Friday. But then he's falling asleep at dinner, and sleeping terribly at night because of congestion. Terrible timing, kid. I hope he's better by this weekend.
