Just the makeup that I use daily, the brands I have right now, I think runs about $150. I have a mix of mid-level brands and cheapie at the moment (I think my foundation, concealer, and matte powder were all around $35/each and then I'm using drugstore mascara/brows, and a decent eye pallet that I got at Nordstrom Rack at a discount).
I have 28 palettes or something like that. So I'm sure my total is ridiculous. And if you add in my 15 yo dd's makeup which I paid for, and we share.....I don't want to talk about this anymore.
See, I only own a little bit because it took me over a decade to even figure out the basics, so I'm not traveling into more, new makeup. I just own foundation, under eye concealer, eye shadow primer, powder, blush, 2 naked palettes, eyebrow powder, eye liner, and mascara. Oh and a lipstick. I'm not very adventurous. I have to stick with what I know, which is not much. All of my makeup can fit into one very small bag.

I recently counted my lipsticks and have 26 of them. Average $20 each and just lipstick is $520. 15 eye shadow pallets, $30 average being very conservative, and that's $450. I don't even want to think about mascara, eye liner, foundation, blushes, and nail polishes. It's a lot.
Oh man, I didn't feel so bad about my spending when I saw others numbers... but now knowing that others are spending that much because they own 10000 eye shadows and 400 lipsticks and I own 2 and 1 of each, respectively... I think I might be buying things that are too expensive.

I estimate I own in the $100-200 range of items and I probably spend $50-100 a year on makeup. I use mascara and BB cream sparingly and the rest sits and waits for my next big night out. Ha!

Like, ever? Or just what I currently own/use?
Ever is well over $2000. I really don't want to think about it. Before kids, when I had more fun money, I remember going into Sephora monthly and dropping $200, easy.
I spent $650 at Sephora last year, but that includes some skin care. Probably another $200 at Ulta and $200 at places like Target, CVS, Walgreens etc. Maybe more.
Quick add up of the stuff I use daily/weekly, around $230. Then I think about the brushes/applicators I use daily and that's a whole 'nother story.
I use a combo of drugstore and prestige brands. One of my goals for 2017 is to find more dupes for the pricey items I use.
$31- $14 for concealer $12 for shine control powder $5 for lip gloss (which is a stretch, it's actually Yes to Coconut cooling lip oil that is sort of glossy once on, lol).
ETA- I'm actually trying to get my skin to a point where I don't need to wear makeup, since I wear the very bare minimum anyway. Now skincare and toiletries are an entirely different, expensive story.

Probably between $200-300. I don't own a lot but in recent years started only purchasing more expensive brands because they last forever, seem to be less harsh on my skin, and I really only have one BB cream, one bronzer, one blush, on mascara, one eyeliner, etc at a time until the run out. I have a couple eyeshadow palettes and a few lipsticks.
