It's my due date. I've been having sporadic contractions for like a week and am getting beyond impatient. I have an appointment today and am planning to ask to be induced in the next few days - mostly because I had some complications with DD that I think were related to her being late, but also just because I'm over it. It's a rare day lately that I can sleep past 3 a.m.
((Hugs)) nessness. Hope you go into labor on your own...if not, prayers you are holding your baby soon! I went over my due date with both boys (although only 1 day with L because it was another c section/get him out due to low amniotic fluid) and it's so hard.
Also, I am tired and sick but I am pretty sure today is only Wednesday 😉 wish it was Thursday though!
Being sick and having to stay home with two sick boys is hard. Feeling worse today...so much congestion. Both boys slept ok so hoping C is a little better again today (L was up 2x last night and he's still really congested and coughing like yesterday). It's supposed to be nice out today so maybe We'll go for a walk to get C out of the house...poor kid hasn't been outside since last Thursday and he was starting to be a little too wild yesterday.
Today is Wednesday right? I got excited for a minute. This feels like the longest week...
S is starting to recognize colors and it's the cutest thing ever. Last night she started saying "yewow" and "boo" (blue) and I almost died it was so cute.

OMG, I Don't know what possessed DD last night, but she was up/crying literally every 30 minutes from 9pm until 1am, and then I woke up at 4 with an awful headache right under my eyeball. Tylenol has done nothing.
Now I'm at work on 3ish hours of solid sleep, 39 weeks pregnant, with a headache still.
Labor vibes to you, nessness! Happy Birthday, dcn!
DS is getting his tongue tie lasered this afternoon. I'm so anxious for my poor baby. He's also been nursing and sleeping better the last few days and I'm afraid that I'm going to throw that to shit. Oh well, its for the best long term.
I'm working from home today with no childcare. I'm not sure why I thought this would work this week! Thankfully it looks like DH will have a snow day tomorrow (teacher). I head back to the office on Monday.
I did our taxes and we're getting just under $2k back. On one hand, that feels like as close as we'll get bc DH's OT fluctuates so much. On the other, I feel like I need to up my TSP just a bit to offset some of the taxable income. I need to run the numbers since we just got the small COL increase (thanks Obama!).
msniq has a blood draw and NST today. Still no baby. I have my performance review, and the expectation going in seems to be "meh", which I'm honestly okay with.
DD has been coming in and sleeping in our bed in the early morning.
She sleeps snuggled RIGHTNEXT to me. This morning she woke me up to tell me that she was cold and I was hogging the blanket. Then she woke me up to tell me she had to put her fingers in her ears because my snoring was too loud.
Good luck to your DS, scm1011. Hoping it makes a big difference for his nursing.
Sending labor vibes to nessness, bluelikejazz, and msniq (niq). We're going to have a baby boom around here. Looking forward to snuggly newborn pictures!

basically ALL of this
Also, I was really sad when I realized it wasn't Thursday. I am on day 6 of solo parenting and so far we've had: 2 sick girls, 4 loads of vomit laundry, one mama who threw her back out, one broken car (starter needs replacing), one overflowed toilet, and about 4 hours every night of mama watching Outlander while eating microwaved smores. Thus, I'm still smiling
My kids' dentist's office is so pushy. They called me to schedule an appointment a few weeks ago, which I did, for tomorrow. I thought DH was going to be able to take them but he's out of town. Now there's going to be a snowstorm and I really just don't want to have to miss three hours of work to do the whole thing so I called up to cancel. I knew they were going to hassle me so I said I had to reschedule. They asked why. I said I had to be at work, which technically I do. But I just don't want to go! Grrr leave me alone! Do toddlers even need to go to the dentist twice a year?
If someone is allergic to MSG, can you still eat Chinese food?
A few places around us will make food without msg. There are a few things that they can't do (egg rolls, soup & a few others) because they're made in bulk.

I WFH and I'm on the phone a lot. My cleaning ladies come every other week. EVERY SINGLE WEEK they come in and yell "hello? hi? Count?? HELLO?" and I'm on a call and can't answer and they just wander through the house until they are either in my office or I respond. EVERY TIME. I leave the garage open for you. I know you are coming. Shh.

The tongue tie is no big deal. They scream for one second and then they are fine. Even my dramatic one made it through. Don't worry!

The scene last night at my house. DS is 3.
About 30 min after bedtime, hear a voice from upstairs:
P: "Mommy! My finger is yucky. Will you come clean it?" Me: "Why is your finger yucky? Do you have a booger?" (he's had a slight cold this week) P: "No, I stuck it in my butt."

My milk came in today despite taking sudafed and having no milk tea religiously. Ouch. Other than ice and Motrin can I do anything else to make them dry up faster?

Thanks! He ended up getting his lip tie done too. He screamed so much, I felt awful. He's okay now though, snoozing away. Now I'm just nervous about having to do stretching exercises ever 4 hours for the next 3 weeks. Ack.
I took DD to the eye Dr this AM and they had to dilate her eyes because it had been a while since that was done. She totally freaked the eff out! Like full on screaming and crying that it was going to hurt. I couldn't get her to calm down. I even had the asst pretend like she gave me eye drops lol. The asst finally called in someone else to help and I just had to hold down DD for them to do it. She was totally fine after that and didn't cry again kids!!
Good luck, nessness! I'm 10 days out and have also been having sporadic contractions for weeks. If I make it to my 39-week appointment next week, I'm going to ask about inducing around my due date. The end is so miserable. Labor vibes to you!
