Wait. Returning it to the corral isn't enough? Because that's what AAM2012 said she does.
ETA: Maybe I'm misreading her post.
She said she'd return to the corral *if it's close*
That's how I read it. If she was saying that she always returns it to the corral but not necessarily the store, then I retract my condemnation. But I took it to mean that in the heat, she only returns it to the corral if it's close.

And I get the feeling AAM2012 is one of the park as close to the store entrance as possible, not close to a cart corral, which actually might be viewed as an unlucky coincidence because then she has to return the cart. I'm way too invested, but C'mon!!
(I know it's probably a repeat because it fits so well- sorry, worth it!)

Ahhhh ok. I thought she meant she didn't go the extra distance to the store if it's hot. It's never ok to not at least get it to a corral.
I bet the people who leave carts scattered around are the same who leave their newspaper on their metro seat so "others can read it". Take your damn newspaper with you. You're littering and I don't want to need to move it to sit down.
Whut, I love reusable newspapers. I'm cheap, and don't want to buy my own subscription.Â
Me too. I'm happy to read a newspaper that's been left behind on my train commute.

It's the free ones they hand out as you get onto the train. I don't take one because I don't want one so I get annoyed when they are scattered about the train. There's a recycling bin in the station where you can dispose of it when you're done.
Gawd, he's so scrumptious. I have one season of the show left on Netflix, then I'm going to start this year's on PBS.
Ooo so I googled and apparently he had an affair with the host of the American version of the show and his wife left him and it was all messy but they reunited a year later.
He wasn't on the American version, I thought. It's Mary and Johnny Iuzzini as judges. Nia Vardalos and some guy as the hosts.

I always return the cart to the corral. I usually park next to or close to the corral so it's easy to deal with DD. But at this point she is fine to walk so if it's not close it's NBD to have her walk with me to put it up. When she was little if I couldn't park by it I would let her ride to the corral and then carry her back it wasn't that big a deal.
I do nit fold my reusable bags, 1 bag is the holder and the rest are shoved in it.
lol! This is just as goofy as a non-cart-putter-backer. It is too much to move a paper!
Uhhh....no. You're missing my point. Because somebody decides to leave their garbage on the seat as a favor to someone who MIGHT want to read it either I need to pick it up and dispose of it for them or at the end of the day the cleaners need to dispose of it. Take your garbage with you when you exit the train. It's the polite thing to do.

There was a previous season by another name, and he was on that. It might have been the Jeff foxworthy version.

I like to park by the corral solely to control how close someone can park on the other side of me (islands work too). The cart returning is just a bonus because I wouldn't ever leave my cart loose. I also rearrange them on occasion so they fit in the corral because people don't bother getting them in when the corral starts to get full.

I love watching people launch their carts from 10 feet away. Yes, *technically* it's in the corral. Well done. But then there's three un-nested carts taking up the room of 20 nested carts. I get a weird satisfaction from lining up the carts that are already in the corrals.

You aren't afraid of people hitting your car when they just shove the cart in the general direction of the corral? Or maybe I just live in an area where people are jerks who do this and you don't.

I do this. But only if it's pouring rain and/or I've got screaming kids and there's like...one other cart in there. Also I'm really good at it, so it almost always ends up nicely lined up against a rail. (hot) If the corral has carts in it already I do go nest them like a reasonable human.
btw, I'm still trying to picture exactly where you leave your cart mr+ms . Like...against the handicap sign in the space that is usually designed as the accessible path when we put in back to back handicap spaces? I'm not judging, because special circumstances and all, I'm just not totally following what you're describing.

My problem, historically, is getting my kids in and out, not so much the dings. I bought a new truck last year and I care about keeping it nice, but it got hit in the work parking lot with no note. I also park near the end of the lot so I'm usually out by my lonesome. It's easier to get in and out of the lot there too since my truck is fairly long.

I'm glad I'm not alone here lol. Neat and orderly and in a row.

To add to this - people that leave their GARBAGE in the cart are worse than non-corral returning people!
And to me, not returning the cart/not throwing out your garbage properly/not taking your paper with you/not bringing your clothes to the restock rack outside dressing rooms are all based on the same principle: I only care about MYSELF and everyone else can go screw themselves mentality that is too prevalent now.
I would like to share that I went to costco today and there were two carts taking up the entire parking space next to my car because it was raining and people couldn't be bothered I guess. (we returned them)

That Costco is the worst with overflowing cart corrals because people don't push them over the lip. And all the garbage. I park way over by the pet store because I hate people in that parking lot.
