I changed my weigh in date to Friday. I was down 11 pounds last weigh in.
I've been going to the gym and eating well, but not feeling deprived. I am really enjoying WW and feel like it's something I can sustain for a lifetime.
I am going to Vegas this weekend and have no intentions on counting points while I'm there.
I did not step on a scale for two weekends because I was out of town. So last Saturday (post workout, this is my designated weigh in time) I was down -3.1 pounds. I thought for sure it would be opposite since I was taking road trips and was not eating at my best. But I wasn't at my worse either so maybe I am doing something right. I still managed to get my workouts in no matter what. Total weight lost is -14.3.
I have changed up my workouts: Mon: Barbell/Turbo Kick Tuesday: Zumba/Total Body Workout Wed: PT for 1 hour Thurs: Zumba Friday: Rest day/30-40 min treadmill walk Saturday: Step/Barbell Sunday: Rest day/30-40 min treadmill walk
Sometimes I squeeze in a couch to 5k workout as a warm up.
I am working on intuitive eating, which is something I've done off and on for the past 10+ years. I seem to want to find some magic diet that will be easy to follow and result in weight loss but that doesn't seem to be happening for me. So, I think it's a better and healthier approach to give up on the idea of dieting all together and just focus on listening to my body's cues.Â
But what if my body is always cueing me to eat junk?

Can I join?
I started an intermittent fasting regimen about 3 weeks ago. I skip breakfast, of which I was never a fan, in favor of black coffee, drink a ton of water, then have a normal lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. I rarely eat after dinner, and if I do it is something small immediately after my kids go to bed. I fast for at least 16 hours, then eat for 8 and repeat. I've had a few days where I fasted 17-18 hours but that is more happenstance, not being hungry, or being out and about without food than trying to fast for that long. I lost about 2 lb in the first week. I work out 2-4 days/week (usually 3 on the elliptical) during my fasting period. I want to work in weights this week or next. Then last week I started eating low carb and my loss ramped up significantly. I lost 5.2 lb since last Monday and 4.7 lb in a week. I'm down 7.7 lb in a month. My bras are already on a tighter hook and the cups are getting loose.
Negative: I was always more of an hourglass shape before kids and now I am very much a cross between an apple and a pear, with the most significant amount of my weight gain in my FUPA. Everything I've lost so far seems to be up top, making me more pear-shaped. My pants have barely loosened.
I have a bunch (50+) to go, and I am sure most of what I have already lost is only water, but I am pleased with my progress so far.
I've been back on the wagon for 3 days. I'm inspired by the fact that basically, I look like shit. We just got back from my 40th birthday trip to Mexico (yay!!!) and I'm completely embarrassed by the pics my bestie posted on FB (ugh.) I am so mad at myself that I let myself go for so long. So, time for a change. i just need to keep referring back to those pics as inspiration.
Great so far. Day 8 of no booze, it's much easier now than the first 3-5 days.
I've been back at Orangetheory and loving it. Can't wait for my Seattle GTG at Orangetheory next week with jenny1980 and niq OMG
I feel really strong.
I need to cut out booze, I know that would help me, but... vacation, summer, Wednesday lol... I am so bad. Tomorrow, really! I've been doing OTF a few months, I love that I commit to a class time and need to be there or pay.
I haven't stepped on the scale because I am bloated as hell due to period. I imagine it's still around 5+ up from my lowest this year, but -10 from my highest. I have a half marathon coming up in Oct that I really need to get training for! I'm off work all next week so I am hoping to get in some long runs.

I'm so mad at myself. I had a big lunch outing today and I planned to weigh in before it and forgot! I have weighed in the same day of the week at the same every week for over a year. Now I have to weigh in tomorrow. Lame.

I've been in and out of town since the end of May and managed to only gain 1 lb, so I'm pretty psyched about that! I'm about 2 days in to recommitting to low carb/keto now that I'm home for more than a few days in a row. So far, so good! I'm determined to never see my highest weight (about 12 lbs ago) again.

Down 2.4. Still 1.6 from my goal of -50. Fit into a size 8 this week (started at a 16).
Summer time is maintenance-mode. We are relocating and have to find a temporary place to live while we find a place to live in NYC-- so food control is minimum right now. I'm so happy I have been able to stick with this through the craziness right now. I'm very proud of myself.
I'm struggling with this yall. I started to step on the scale and I have realized that I have gained 30 pounds in the past three years - really, it was all gained in 2 years and I have stayed at a steady weight for the past year. I do think this may be my bodies "happy weight" and I try to accept it, but it is hard.
Over the past month, I have really made an effort to cut out eating out, yet the scale doesn't budge at all. Maybe I am not eating enough? Here is basically what I am eating every day - I may eat out 1x a week on the weekend, but I don't think that slight variance would make that much of a difference.
Breakfast - Protein shake: Protein powder, 1.5 c almond milk, frozen strawberries, 2 tbsp chia seeds - around 350 calories Lunch - Freshly Meal - usually around 500 calories Dinner - Protein shake, same as above
This is the first time I just did all the math and yeah, I probably need more calories, but I am not a snacker, and with this amount of food I am not hungry. At lunch, I finish my meal, but I don't think I would eat more that the portioned amount. I sued to do the shakes fro breakfast/lunch - but then I thought it was probably better to have the biggest meal mid-day, plus I got tired of co-workers commenting on my lunch.
Any suggestions on how to bulk up my calories in a good way. I mean, i can easily put away a bowl of kraft mac and cheese, but I don't think that is the solution here. When I am eating healthy food, I eat to live - I don't really find joy in eating healthy food, so I just eat what I need to satisfy my hunger.

What about liquid calories? Are you drinking coffee (anything other than black) or any alcohol? What about a bite here or there or grazing? I am always amazed when I've tracked my intake to see how many calories are coming from things I'm not even really aware I'm eating. And booze cals add up quickly.
You definitely need more than 1200 calories/day but the whole "starvation mode" thing is kind of a myth. If you're legit tracking everything you eat and aren't losing weight on that amount, I'd see your doc to rule out hormonal imbalances, etc.
Oh yeah. This too. Starvation mode is definitely a myth. Our bodies don't go into starvation mode because we skipped lunch.

I'll have to track more carefully, but I rarely drink calories - tea in the am, la croix/water the rest off the day. I drink alcohol maybe 1-2× a month. Im basically super boring, lol.
I Will say that even though the scale isn't budging, im definitely less bloated, which is a win.
Still stable, which I'm still happy about. I'm hoping to be able to stick to the recommended weight gain for my starting weight, which is really not a lot I do miss booze a lot but hey...
My trainer is back from holidays so this should help keep me motivated to move some more as I really don't want to go back to where I was before.
I made Lifetime at WW in May. Weighed in in June and was good. Then I went on vacation and I gained a few pounds, but I am in summer mode and can't get them off. I have two more weeks in July to weigh in for July and I'm about 2lbs over the 2lbs leeway WW gives you. I just can't get them off. I am hoping that now that I know I don't have an entire month I can whip myself into shape to get back down.
PO: I think a protein shake isn't really helpful with weight loss. Our body needs protein yes but not at the crazy amounts we are putting in. It really needs a balance of carbs and protein. Super foods are the way to go.
I suggest watching "What the Health" on Netflix. It really changed my mind when it comes to those all paleo and low carb diets.
2 weeks into my GP suggested Whole 30 and I've lost two pounds. I'm not gonna lie, I thought that once I was on meds (thyroid, adrenal, hormones) the weight would fall off faster 😞

There's a lot of backlash against this doc. Not just from pro low carb / paleo / keto folks but from doctors, real journalists, etc... I'd definitely take it with a grain of salt and not in a vacuum. It seems the filmmakers have taken many liberties as far as twisting facts to fit their narrative.

Oh I can see this of course. But some of it holds truth. I am not going to stop eating meat by any means. I am just going to be more conscious of where my food is coming from and how it's being processed.
I have done low carb in the past and yeah I had success but then I gained it all back. I think the best way to lose weight is eating less calories and not limiting yourself 100% to any certain group. It's slower, yes. And tracking calories can be tedious, yes.
I quit WW, because I was doing it online and it seemed like I was having trouble sticking with it. On the weeks where I stayed within my points, I wasn't losing anything and I was getting frustrated with going way over on points if I ate out or ate anything "bad".
So I've been focusing on increasing exercise and just making slightly better choices. And I've actually lost 3-4lbs since I stopped tracking. So that's weird! Part of it might be that I joined a yoga studio and have been going to 3-5 classes a week. But they are relatively low impact (I rarely work up a sweat) so I wasn't really intending them to be for weight loss, more for general wellness, balance, strength stuff.
I also made it to the regular gym 3x last week, which has been my goal forever but almost never happens. I think I might hit 3x this week too. That plus yoga means I'm working out 6-8 times a week, so yay for that. I do need to lose a decent amount of weight but what I want more than anything is to be healthy. I feel like if I eat well most of the time and work out regularly, I'm doing ok.
I've actually lost around 10 lbs since the beginning of the year, which is not huge but I'm relatively happy with. Would be better if it was 50 lbs (lol) but I feel like what I've been doing lately is manageable so I'm ok with slow loss.
I need to cut out booze, I know that would help me, but... vacation, summer, Wednesday lol... I am so bad. Tomorrow, really! I've been doing OTF a few months, I love that I commit to a class time and need to be there or pay.

I love booze so much!! But I REALLY needed this slight detox, and it's weird but not surprising that I feel like a new person when working out now!!
How long have you done OTF and have you ever done a 90min? I'm doing one on saturday and curious to see how it goes!
I've only been going a few months and have only done 60 mins. 90!? I can't imagine, I would pass out lol.

I have really had a rough time lately. I've gained. I don't know if its heat related swelling (that is what I tell myself) but I have had such a huge appetite lately.

GGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! You guyz! I have been struggling with 2 lbs for like 2+ months. It took me 19 months but I finally made it! I am a little below goal weight and actually just hit 50 lbs total! I am so happy! Now I need to go weigh in at a center so that I can stop paying.
