Sucks to be the letter writer. Maybe you shouldn't live with someone for years then fucking disappear. Especially since they're seemingly in related fields.
I simply wanted to avoid being untangled in a break-up drama. be a chicken shit of a person and not deal with anything requiring basic courage or dignity.
I loooooove that his first letter is all, look I know y'all are usually tough on a guy like me, but I'm really just looking for constructive advice here. HAHAHAHHA ASSHOLE.
At first I was like, "meh, just be an adult about it." Then I saw that the relationship lasted years, not weeks. WHO GHOSTS SOMEONE THEY FUCKING LIVED WITH?!?!?!??!?!!?!?
This person does not even seem to have remorse about it or appreciate just how reprehensible his actions were and what kind of emotional toll they could have had on this woman. He needs to quit, not just because it would be cruel to this woman but because he doesn't seem to have the emotional capacity to be working with children.

He wrote that letter trying to make her sound nuts that she tried to hunt him down. OF COURSE SHE DID. That poor woman thought her BF had been abducted or murdered or something. Good lord. The absolute least he could do is stop telling the story the way he does. HE is the nutjob in this scenario.

It shouldn't even be called ghosting! There's gotta be a more accurate term for what this dickbag did.

AGREED. The fact that he can't even put himself in her shoes is disturbing.

I don't think you can "ghost" someone after 3 years. If H decided to leave me he can't just move out and ignore me. I would think he was dead. Of course she "tracked him down." If they lived together, she probably, at minimum, wanted to know he was ok. And they might have shared rent, bills, personal property. What a nutjob. This guy is getting what he deserves.

Right??? he deliberately wrote that first letter to make it sound like she was crazy and they had been together for a month or something.
Three years. THREE.YEARS. Of course she freaked out, of course she was worried, and of course she probably still thinks you are scum.

BECAUSE YOU ARE SCUM.
And the way he wrote that initial letter makes it clear that he's some sort of emotionally stunted assbag because he doesn't even think that he was really that wrong. Like...he was kinda wrong. but not like...that wrong. DUDE. NO.
