I wonder what my salon is going to do. It's a very welcoming place - like it seems like a home for people who aren't really of the East TN mold where diversity/difference/weirdness/individuality is embraced. It's a kerastase salon.
I read about this last night and was all "Okay, avoid L'Oréal, easy" and then I saw the full list of brands and yeah...that's a lot of stuff I use. Damn it. Oh well. I'll mostly just miss Essie.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
I am disappointed that they did this from a person standpoint. And very surprised they did this from a professional standpoint, considering the business.
This is what I've been thinking/feeling too. It's a stupid professional move and it's also extremely disappointing. What she said was not wrong and it needed to be said.
I've been boycotting L'Oréal products for years because they test on animals. Here's one more reason to avoid them.
So ive workes in drugs and cosmetics for 15 years. Finished cosmetic product testing on animals was banned as of 2006, but they require certain tests on ingredients (that go into many things, not just cosmetics, mostly for environmental impact - so nematodes, not bunnies). All companies that sell products globally follow those rules.

Thats a possibility too, i dont know anything about chinese cosmetic regs.
I know my L'Oreal shampoo says that it's vegan safe, so I suspect they no longer test on animals.
If they sell in China, they do. Regulation changes are being pushed but anything sold in China that isn't manufactured in China (and almost none of it is) has to be tested on animals.
Interesting. I know it says vegan safe on the bottle, but of course I know those labels are often flawed.
