Day 2 was pretty good! Dry all day, except he peed in his pull-up while he was in Sunday school, and then just now after dinner he pooped in his underwear. I think he was distracted playing with his brother and forgot, but generally he's been doing a great job today telling us when he needs to go.
Day 2 we had two accidents in undies then ditched undies and went with commando. Had one accident in pants and have been good since. So far so good this morning. We've had a pee and a poop so far this morning and even walked to Dunkin' Donuts without an accident. Planning some short walks/trips for the day. Really hoping the rest of the day goes well!
We're gearing up for our first outings today. Going to Target this morning and the playground after nap time. Fingers are crossed for successful outings!
They both peed in pull up before I got them up. But woke up and went to breakfast and they stayed dry. Went pee once we got home. I'm a lot less stressed now. No towels laying around and they're wearing clothes. DD had no accidents yesterday. DS had 1, he told H he had to pee and didn't make it to potty. I'll start making them go once an hour.
We made it to target and back and they both stayed dry. We tried to get them to pee at target but they refused. I have the oxo travel potty. They were scared of the seat on the big potty and only DD would sit on it on the ground but didn't pee.
What are you guys planning to do for peeing on the go? I'm wondering if I need to have them practice with the travel potty at home or just bring the small potty with us. We've been using the summer infant small potties at home.
Ok, I'm getting frustrated. DS will.not.pee. He got up at 8 this morning. I prompted several times throughout the morning. He finally peed around 11:20, but only after I sat him on the potty and made him stay there for a good 10 minutes. He didn't pee anywhere near enough considering he hadn't peed in over 3 hours. It feels like he has no pattern whatsoever and I don't trust him to tell me when he needs to go.
He had a poop accident about an hour after this and then a pee accident after that. He was able to hold the pee after he started and got the rest in the potty. About 5 minutes prior to that, he told me he needed to go, but he sat for like 20 seconds and changed his mind. I guess I should have made him stay.
This is day 4 and by far the worst.
I probably just need to relax and let him have accidents I guess. Prompting him is just frustrating to both of us.
Ugh sorry isabel, this whole process is frustrating. We had our first poop accident this afternoon. But they have gotten all pees in the potty.
I'm interested to see how tomorrow goes at daycare.
preppy - are you planning to send your DD to daycare or keep her home?
I am going to do daycare tomorrow. She had two accidents early but didn't have any from 10am on so I'm hopeful. I think daycare could make or break this. She is very on it with poops but has to be prompted more for pee. We did a few short outings today without incident. I'm hoping daycare drives it home for us tomorrow! I am planning on going to the beach alone!
Today has been a breeze. I think it was good timing for them. No accidents and we did breakfast with underwear on. Also went for ice cream tonight. They've been dry at nap but I'll send pull ups for daycare naps for awhile. I have them sit about every hour but they've started telling me and are usually accurate. I hope this continues.

Awesome! Yeah I could not handle another day couped up. I'm hopppng daycare goes well tomorrow. I've packed a lot of spare clothes!

The baby wanted to pee on the potty today and the realIzed she had to poop... she kept hopping on and off the potty conflicted.. finally I convinced her to come get a diaper. She went standing and the poo was caught in a diaper. She was pleased and was happy to dump it in the potty and flush it. She seemed so scared when she had to poop and her option was the potty. She seemed relieved when I took the choice away and said we were going to get a diaper to poop in.
I was happy that she knew what her body wanted to do and could communicate it. She has told me a few times this weekend when she needed to go pee or poop. We still didn't officially potty train since she is on antibiotics but we are working on what we can and I feel we are moving in the right direction without being confusing to the end goal.
DS struggled today. It was a complete deviation from yesterday (no accidents, no power struggles). I had to take him to go several times and make him sit. Each time, he cried and said he didn't want to go, but then would start peeing. I'm afraid I'm setting us up for negative feelings, but then after he would go, we would all celebrate, dump the pee in the big potty, flush, wash, get a cookie. I knew he needed to go because he starts crossing his feet and wiggling. He obviously knows when he needs to go and that he shouldn't go in his pants, but doesn't want to go to the potty. This was the case all day, regardless of whether he was engaged in something fun.
We're just going to push on, I guess. He's with MIL at home tomorrow and then daycare on Wednesday. I'm hoping tomorrow isn't awful and that peer pressure helps on Wednesday. I know there's at least one kid in his class who is trained and another who is potty training this weekend. Maybe seeing other kids go on the potty will help.

DS2 did wonderfully today! No accidents that I recall. It's going to get harder tomorrow though when we're driving around and at places where a potty isn't ten feet away. I may chicken out and put him back in a pull up if I can't figure out places for him to pee. I did not think far enough ahead to buying a travel potty, sadly.
I'm really anxious to hear how they do at daycare. I don't expect many accidents as I told her about how often I expect them to go, but I know they'll be busy playing more so hopefully do not get too distracted. I'm also hoping they poop today! All day yesterday they wanted on the potty chair, rather than seat on toilet but at daycare they use toilet. Hopefully they'll get more in the habit of using that.
They made it to daycare dry. DS went pee on the potty when we got there. But I didn't realize they had the bigger toilets in the preschool room so DS dribbled a little bit.
I'm really curious to see how things go today at daycare as well. The director said they would prompt them every 45 mins or so.
I'm also very interested to see how daycare goes. We had no accidents this morning before school and when we got there I made sure I told her she had her treats for potty there and we practiced running to the potty and I talked about telling her teachers. I sent a lot of extra pants and her teachers said a few others are training right now and they are going to prompt them all often and they find it helps to bring them in groups, little peer pressure. They didn't seem concerned but I am dying to know how it goes. I might email her teacher at nap time to see how the morning went. She's def on the young side since she's not two yet but did so well this weekend I'm hoping it sticks.
They both did great at daycare today!! DD had zero accidents and DS only had one accident! They even did a good job going on their own without reminders!
So daycare didn't go so well, ugh. She had 4 accidents and her first poop accident. She only made it to the potty twice. That's more accidents we had all weekend. Her teacher said they did hourly reminders but S was getting super resistant and upset when she asked and she was trying to balance prompting and making sure she wasn't stressed about it. They said they will give it another day or two then we might have to "reasses" if they don't see progress. Ugh. When we got home she went potty twice before bed and had no issues. I'm hoping it was a first day back issue, I really don't want to "reasses" since she's doing so well at home.
I'm sorry preppy that is tough. I would give her a few more days and see how she does. It's got to be tough for them coming back from a long weekend plus having to think about using the potty.

We've been casually trying and I think it's time to ditch pull ups. Sometimes I'm so lazy with first tri and puking that we do pull ups so I don't have to try.
No diaper today, one accident but I was in the other room. He'd climbed the fridge and was stuck and couldn't get to me or get down. We had nursery/playgroup and he insisted in underwear for that; he wouldn't go to the bathroom for his teachers but it's only two hours, so no accidents and he went when I picked him up.
He only pees 3-4 times a day so it's hard sometimes to reinforce

We are going to see how tomorrow goes and if we think she needs a reset at home DH is going to take the day off and stay home with her. He's putting in his notice next week anyways so he can burn through his PTO. I'm discouraged but trying to tell myself it was only one day. I should have kept her home today!!! Ughhhh.

That's a good idea to do some more time at home if she needs it. I hope tomorrow goes better!
How exciting you DH is accepting the job offer, congrats!!
No accidents at daycare but DD went 4 hours before she peed. I think she was nervous. No poop today. They were both crying all evening . I don't even care if they poop in their underwear, they just need to go.

Yay for no accidents! Total commiseration re poop though. We started potty training 4th of July and C has major poop issues. He is rarely successful and holds it. He even has a diaper on at nap and bedtime and mostly refuses to poop in it because he knows poop goes in the toilet. Today was Day 2 of no poop and he basically walked around miserable all day not wanting to poop (but needing to). It is seriously the worst thing ever and so draining for everyone (but we have tried giving him a diaper to go in and he won't so it's not like we are fighting this fight til he gets it...I could care less where and in what he poops in right now, I just want to stop having the daily struggle for him to poop).

((Hugs)). It very well could have been first day back and getting back into a routine. We were so off our routine this weekend and C was a crazy mess all day, including two pee accidents (totally on purpose too). I honesty haven't seen him this bad in awhile, if ever, and potty training was definitely effected. I hope the next couple days go better for S! Good luck!
DS only goes MWF, so tomorrow will be his first day back. He did ok at home today with MIL, but not great. He did poop on the potty after I got home, so that was good.
I am hoping peer pressure helps tomorrow. He does not like being prompted and it's been tough to reinforce with him because he doesn't pee all that often.

Do you ever give miralax or juice to help? I gave them some grapes this morning before daycare hoping if anything it will help loosen. DS tried pooping a couple times last night but I wonder if it's too hard at this point.
