Yay for no accidents! Total commiseration re poop though. We started potty training 4th of July and C has major poop issues. He is rarely successful and holds it. He even has a diaper on at nap and bedtime and mostly refuses to poop in it because he knows poop goes in the toilet. Today was Day 2 of no poop and he basically walked around miserable all day not wanting to poop (but needing to). It is seriously the worst thing ever and so draining for everyone (but we have tried giving him a diaper to go in and he won't so it's not like we are fighting this fight til he gets it...I could care less where and in what he poops in right now, I just want to stop having the daily struggle for him to poop).
Do you ever give miralax or juice to help? I gave them some grapes this morning before daycare hoping if anything it will help loosen. DS tried pooping a couple times last night but I wonder if it's too hard at this point.
I haven't. C has gone 3 days without pooping but he usually goes every 1-2 days. Even when he holds it it isn't always hard. He has had a couple times where he was walking around saying "ouchie" so I wonder if his unwillingness to go stems from having a painful poop. But he does this regardless of saying ouchie or not. He also has far more success pooping when I leave him in the pack n play with the toddler potty (he has never pooped on the big toilet with insert, just sits forever) and leave him (mainly when I go to feed DS2 upstairs) so I think he wants the privacy (he also asks for shorts and underwear but he will just poop in them...he will ask for his diaper if it's before bedtime). Good luck! Poop has been a huge battle for us but I am just going with it...he won't go to college not pooping on the toilet. The only reason I potty trained was to hopefully start preschool next month but that's not happening. I will reevaluate for Jan 1.
DS did great at daycare. His teacher said he prompted him every hour or so and DS was totally cool about going and trying. He had one accident in the afternoon, but his teacher said another kid was on the potty shortly before that when he prompted DS to go, so he thinks DS had the accident because he didn't try at that point.
He had a pee accident in the morning before school and in the evening.
Poop, ironically, has been totally fine. I know that's an issue for most, but he doesn't seem to want to poop in his pants so he gets all panicky about it, which gives me plenty of time to set him up in front of the tv so he can relax and go.
The issue I'm having is that he gets mad when we prompt and make him sit, but he often pees. I'm afraid we're setting him up for negative feelings about the potty, but I'm not sure how else to approach it. He woke up dry this morning, so H sat him on the potty immediately. H said he was mad and yelling that he didn't have to go, but then, of course, he went. Sigh.

I put him in a pull up for preschool yesterday, because his accidents keep happening when he's distracted playing with his brother or a friend. His teacher said he still used the potty twice, though, so he did pretty well. I need to buy a travel potty for the car, though. We're out too often during the day to count on being near a toilet every hour. Not perfect by any means, but making great progress!
They're doing great at daycare. At home they tell me they want to go but at daycare she has them sit every hour. No accidents though. DD did poop a tiny bit yesterday, DS woke at midnight and had gone a tiny bit in his pull up but they are so fussy. DS cried all morning and would not get ready, he almost threw up twice from crying so hard but once we got to daycare they peed and then were fine. I'm sure their tummies hurt.
I did a ton of fruit for dinner and give them a tiny bit of miralax. I'm going to go over lunch and buy some other stuff to help. I'm sure at this point it's hard and they just don't know how to push it out.

Poor kids, they must be super uncomfortable. Hope the fruit and extra stuff works to get things moving.
Ok daycare text at 11 and said they both pooped. She wasn't able to get them to the bathroom in time. I hope it wasn't too much of a mess But at least they got something out.

Glad they finally pooped! That's really all that matters and hopefully they will get the hang of poop sooner than later. C held it so bad one time and was a cranky mess that I finally calmed the pedi and spoke with a nurse. She encouraged me to do whatever it took to get him to poop, even if it meant putting a diaper on and telling him it was ok to poop in it (didn't work but the point is that sometimes potty training has to get delayed to help them past certain points, like being backed up).

Daycare text that she put a pull on them for nap and DS pooped again. A ton but kind of loose. I guess that fruit plate for dinner worked And at least this one was pull up and not underwear again. I bet they feel so much better.
linz, you can get pediatric glycerin suppositories at drug stores. They work pretty quickly (within 15 minutes or so). Something to consider if that happens again. And it might make it easier to get them on the potty for it since you'll know it's coming.

Any tips on getting them to not poop during nap?
My 2.5 yr old poop trained when she was 2 but only pee trained in the last month. She has completely reverted with poop and now holds it for days and will only go during nap (pull up or not).
It's driving us crazy since she was already pooped trained! Ugh.
Tues and Weds at daycare were not good but she's had no accidents at home at all so we were sticking with it. Today she had one accident and even told her teacher she had to pee twice without being prompted. They had said they might have to use diapers again if they didn't see improvement but today was great so they are going to stay the course. I'm hoping this is the start of great days at daycare! She seemed much happier today at pickup too!

That's awesome progress preppy! Glad things are going better!

Ok a coworker told me about these too. Good to know they work quick.
