The pool rules and merging etiquette thread have me all worked up, lol. It’s too early for this. It’s making me get re-angry at the biker I almost hit yesterday because he was riding against traffic and went straight (in front of my car) when the pedestrian crosswalk had no walk symbol and I was turning right (so looking left) so he’s lucky I looked back right before I hit the gas because he was right in front of my car and I would have nailed him. I fucking hate bikers. Either follow the rules of the road for cars or follow the rules for pedestrians, you can’t have it both ways. Then he had the nerve to flip me off so I gave him the finger back.
And my work drama is still going on and it’s so ridiculous and making me annoyed every day.
I’m going to stop taking the dry eye supplements I have. I’ve gained 5 lbs in the couple of months since starting it and a proton pump inhibitor. I haven’t changed my diet and I’ve actually been exercising more. I don’t see how either of those could be the culprit, but I’m going to eliminate each one separately to see if it helps. The PPI isn’t really helping my symptoms anyway.
I have 1.5 job interviews today. One is a real, scheduled one, and the other is just meeting with the supervisor for another job. A colleague put me in touch with her and since I am in town, she said I could stop in and meet her. I am interested in both jobs, so fingers crossed.
I just went to the city permit office to get a permit for parking our moving Pod on the city street when we move. What a hassle. They told me on the phone I could come in and request it and pick up the signs to post, but today they said they need to approve it in another office before I can get the permits. They have to be picked up in person and posted 72 hours before the truck arrives. I have our rental company posting them, but I can't pick them up ahead of time unless i get them today. Idk what I will do if the approval doesn't happen fast. We will have to push back having our things delivered, and with H's job it would have to wait until the following weekend to have time to move in. What a hassle!

The construction crew is at our house this morning for kitchen remodel prep and demo, and I'm annoyed that DH isn't giving me minute by minute updates. I should have moved the webcam we use to check in on the dog during the day upstairs so I could see what's happening.
Friends are putting their dog down tomorrow night, and we're so sad, especially DD. The friend watched DD when she was little so this dog was basically her first pet and she and the dog just love each other. I'm taking her over there to say goodbye tonight, and it's going to be rough.
I almost hit a lady riding her bike on my road this morning when I was backing out of my driveway. It was 6am, I looked in both directions before backing out and she freaking came out of nowhere! I have no idea why she didn't stop, she could clearly see me long before I saw her. So that's how I started my day.
I bought a new lap top less than 2 months ago. It's a Dell, so not some off brand or something. I don't need it / use it often, really only a few times a month to pay bills and update my budget. It's a total piece of junk. It took me 30 minutes to pay one bill last night and I never did get my budget to open and save. Now I need to hope Best Buy will take it back and then I'll need to shell out another $200 for one that doesn't suck. Ugh.
ETA: I didn't read any replies before responding, I see I'm not alone today in my annoyance of a bike rider! FWIW my H is a road cyclist, and for every idiot out there, there are plenty of other cyclists who do actually follow the rules of the road and don't ride like entitled brats.

My cousin and her husband are missionaries in a country that doesn't allow missionaries. I have so many issues with this to begin with, but yesterday they sent out a message saying that they hadn't been paying their taxes correctly, because other missionaries told them they didn't have to. Now they owe $38,000 in back taxes and fines. Oh and they're expecting baby #5. So you could all increase your support??
I'm irrational annoyed at my kids schools for assigning so many projects so late in the school year. I literally am at the store twice a week buying supplies. Plus the late nights while they try to get them done/eat/shower. My 6th grader turned in his 3rd project in 2 weeks and my 3rd grader is working on his for next week and I hear the 6th grade has 1 more assignment coming. I'm exhausted!!
I'm a one-trick pony, but I held my son yesterday while he cried because he doesn't "know how to not die" and he'll miss us if he dies [ETA: BIL died unexpectedly, DS is not ill]. I go back and forth between wrecked and numb. I start back in the office my normal 4d/wk next week, after having 6wk WFH after my mat leave. I'm dreading it. I don't want to talk to anyone. I'm just so tired.
Who knew that the 3 month old baby would be the part of my life that was easiest and made the most sense?!
As a pedestrian who is pretty sure she's going to die because someone turning right was looking left, YOU HAVE TO LOOK IN FRONT OF YOU BEFORE YOU STEP ON THE GAS.
OMG. I'm having heart palpitations at the idea that people think it's OK to start turning right while still looking left.
Pretty good. I think the dryness is getting incrementally better. I still do drops a few times a day and sometimes things aren’t as crisp as I’d like them to be, but they said I’m healed perfectly and seeing 20/20 so...ok, I guess, lol.

NO NO NO NO NO.
I did look right. But also, don’t walk in front of cars when you aren’t supposed to be in the crosswalk.
Ok, so "bikers" are people on motorcycles. People on bicycles are called "cyclists"! And @sameoldstory, I feel no sympathy for you, it's your responsibility to see cyclists and other vehicles (or small children) on the road before you back out. Yeah, sometimes it's hard to see, but it's still your job. Yes, I'm feeling salty about all you people hating on cyclists, I don't get it because there are so many more shitty drivers out there than shitty cyclists. Plus the roads (and laws) are set up such that cars are king, and sometimes cyclists have to bend the rules to get places safely - especially because I can't recall the last time a person driving a car who killed a cyclist got any punishment whatsoever. The best way to murder someone and get away with it in the country is to hit them with your car while they're cycling. And yes, I've lost friends to being hit by cars, and no said friends were not doing anything wrong.

See, I'm taking what was said to mean that the pedestrian is in the crosswalk legally crossing and the car is making a right turn on red. At which point, they are supposed to be in the crosswalk. I could be wrong though.
But I am glad you looked first - and kinda pissed for you that the asshole flipped you off.

Well, sure. But that’s a moot point bc this guy was not legally in the crosswalk.

Yeah, but you said he's "lucky" you looked right before hitting the gas. To turn right. No. You're SUPPOSED to do that.
To be clear, I'm not arguing that the cyclist should've been there because going against traffic is clearly not OK. But that doesn't make hitting the gas before looking in the direction you're traveling OK, either.
I actually feel OK hating on cyclists 50 percent of the time because they are frequently menaces to me as a pedestrian. But cars are bigger menaces. And what the fuck is up with skateboards making a comeback?

Never said he was - I was saying that perhaps we had a different understand of what she was saying with her post. But okay.

Party foul for everyone.
Just because I do what I’m supposed to doesn’t mean everyone does. I’m not saying it’s right, but he IS lucky. He’s lucky it was someone paying attention and not someone else. Maybe I’m not getting what’s in my head out correctly, lol.

Luckily, I don't need your sympathy nor did I ask for it. I have nothing but respect for cyclists that follow the rules. And I did everything right backing out of my driveway this morning looking both ways and continuing to look in my mirrors and out the windows while backing up, that is why I saw her at the last minute. She was riding on the wrong side of the road. She came out from behind my neighbors truck where she had me in her sightline long before I had hers in mine. Being a safe and responsible cyclist also involves being a defensive rider just like I'm expected to a defensive driver so putting the onus only on drivers is giving the cyclists license to just ride as irresponsibly as they want. Not saying they do, but both drivers and cyclists need to be aware of their surroundings and traffic. I have nothing but respect for cyclists and as a driver always do my best to respect them on the road.
Every time we talk about CYCLISTS and cars, people come in guns a blazing like we’re all mowing down CYCLISTS for funsies. If everyone just follows the fucking RULES (jezebel) we’ll be ok.

I want to ditto this. Cars/drivers are the problem here. Not people working to not kill the environment. Learn to drive and lobby your city for bike lanes.
But keep on driving to the gym instead of working physical activity into your life.
@sameoldstory, you didn't say she was going the wrong way, so yeah, she should have stopped. My friends and I have had so many bad experiences with drivers who weren't paying attention that it's really hard for me to read anyone being breezy about almost hitting cyclists.

LOL forever that this is now shaming people for driving and not being physically active enough. GFY.
I hate riding a bike. It is my most dreaded form of physical activity ever. When the bus drivers went on strike a few years ago, I walked over 2 miles to work instead of taking a bikeshare bike. Because biking is
