The last week has seen temperature records throughout the northern hemisphere. I’ve been in 2 places mentioned in the article this week - Burlington and Montreal. I’m about to visit my parents in NY. I’ll be 0/3 on the places I’m staying having AC because I normally wouldn’t need it! Last night in Montreal was pretty brutal, because we are staying in an old building with windows that don’t open well. I was awake for about an hour and it was probably still 80+ in this room. :/
Yeah, the Denver 105 was a big deal - tied the highest temperature we've ever had, for any day of the year. It was hotter than Vegas, Tucson, Dallas... it was toasty.
We finally got relief via a summer storm today. Cooled us down to the 70s in Virginia. It’ll be back up into the 80s but man that feels good from the 110 degree heat index last week.
We have to go to Tulsa next week and one of the days Accuweather says it will be a “real feel” of 112. I want to cry. Here in Boston it’s pretty oppressive right now, too. Poor DS1 is at overnight camp with no AC.

When was it 105? It must have been a day I worked inside because I don’t remember. I usually watch fox31 in the mornings but they’re playing the World Cup so I’m surprised everyday when I walk outside - lol.
It's 93 here with a feels like of 99. The humidity is awful....but to make matters worse we had major flash flooding here two weeks ago and all beaches are closed due to bacteria levels. We are surrounded by Lake Superior so there are no pools. Anywhere. We're so far north 85 is usually quite warm so air conditioning is not the norm either. We have a kiddie pool for our German shepherd....I think he's the only happy one today.

Last Thursday.
It was about 102 in the Springs that day, which was the day the new trainees showed up to the AF Academy (hence, they were outside a lot of the day running around from building to building, standing in line, etc). I felt so bad for them...

I'm in Northern Ontario and it has been in the 90s and feeling like over 100 this week. It felt like 109* on Canada Day. Most houses that aren't new builds (and even some newer houses) don't have air conditioning here, so it has been brutal. It's typically been between 78-83 in my house.

We’ve been so fucking hot inside our house (~95 indoors) that we are having a whole house ac installed tomorrow. I’ve lived in CO for 15 years and we’ve never NEEDED an AC like we do now. I used to be able to get by with just a window unit. Our animals are all panting everyday so it feels like a necessity. Plus, it doesn’t cool off until 3 or 4 in the morning so sleeping has been awful.
In the process we also learned that our home inspector ROYALLY fucked up and we have to also have our whole house rewired and a whole new electrical panel. Fucking yay. Ridiculous.
This heat is killing me. Temperature inside my house: 77. There’s no way the air conditioner is keeping up. I keep eating popsicles while sitting in front of various oscillating fans.

All y'all Northern Hemisphere people do is complain about the weather. Y'all kept Winter until May, which meant those of us South of the Equator missed out on Autumn. And now that we're finally cool, y'all are doing nothing but screaming how you want it to be cooler.
No way! You have to learn to share the winter. And it's only barely winter weather here anyway. We're halfway through winter and it's only 16C today (do the math, it's good for you 😊😃). We've only been out of the teens once for a daytime high and overnight lows have been hovering around 8C all season.
Suck it up and enjoy the summer you stuck me with until May! I'm turning on my heater, pulling on a sweater and watching the grey skies drip nearly icy rain.
