If you are in the 40+ age group (I know there are a few I remember from the previous forums) what foundation do you use. I'm using Lancôme teint miracle right now but I think I need a little more coverage. Only I don't want that heavily made up powdered look that I remember my grandmother having. Any suggestions?
Ditto this. I will be 49 and I love this stuff. It doesn't settle into fine lines, has a dewier finish (but not shiny) and doesn't look cakey. I set it with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores. I have normal skin that can lean oily in my t-zone (mostly in summer).
I also like Too Faced Born this way. Not heavy. I do need to use a primer with it or else it will break down on my skin.
If you want lighter coverage Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue is nice. It can be built up a little to cover redness and even out skin tone.
I don't wear foundation as part of my daily make-up routine, mostly because I'm lazy LOL But when I do a "full face" I use It Cosmetics CC Cream along with the Bye Bye Under Eye.

Armani Luminous Silk foundation is the best I've ever used. it goes on smoothly, doesn't need primer, has good coverage, and the color doesn't change throughout the day. I love it. It's expensive but IMO it's worth it.

I use Juice Beauty's foundation. I don't look old but the beauty counter lady decided I needed older lady foundation (I was looking for MAC) but I suspect it was because she saw me with my teenager and could make the sale using the your a mature mom tactic. It worked and I truly love this product and their cleanser. It gives great coverage even when using a little bit.

I am 46 and cheap, so I use Covergirl Advanced Radiance Age Defying. I've never used expensive foundation, though, so I can't make an accurate comparison. I don't wear much foundation anyway, so this meets my needs.
When I want the "perfection" of full coverage, I like the IT Confidence in a Compact which works like old school pancake makeup. I apply with a brush heavier on my red areas and sun damage and lighter on the places where my skin is good.
I also like Boots No7 Foundations. Lift & Luminate, Stay Perfect and Airbrush Away are great at their price point although the colors trend pale.

I use Clinique Even Better foundation. I was also intrigued by the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, but it felt much heavier than the Even Better. I am 40. I also use Clinique Sheer Matifier.

This. I’ve recently tried the IT cosmetics CC cream and it’s great too

I found that as I've aged it's actually better to find a foundation with LESS coverage as more coverage ages me, so I'd keep that in mind. I also use the IT Cosmetics CC cream though I'm trying to find something else due to the issues around IT Cosmetics. I do like Shiseido BB Cream for light coverage (evens me out) and the Bobbi Brown stick foundation for a touch more coverage. I'm 49.

Now I am curious. What are the issues with IT cosmetics? I’ve never used their stuff but have been considering their CC cream.

They are owned by L'Oreal who have had major issues with racism.

I agree that as I've gotten older foundations with less coverage work better. When I was in my 20s and 30s I used pretty full coverage foundations, but now I find that they really age me.
I think I'm one of the only people who doesn't like the IT CC cream. It looks nice when I first apply it, but then starts to look super oily and breaks down within an hour. This happens even when using a good primer and setting it.
Lately I've really been liking the Urban Decay Naked foundation and Thrive Causemetics CC cream.
As far as coverage, Juice Beauty doesn't go on thick and doesn't break down on my skin. I don't use a primer. But like someone above suggested, go to a store like Ulta or Sephora and try them out. I would have never went with this brand had I not tried it and been impressed with the results.

I don’t like the IT CC cream either. It seems really heavy to me and makes me look pale. It also gets oily and breaks down on me and seems to separate on my face and settle into pores.
I want to try the Thrive cosmetics.
I’m 40 and currently using Lancôme Tient Idol Ultra Wear and really like it. I love the Armani Luminous Silk. I love the Chanel loose powder but I’m using Too Faced Born This Way loose powder and it seems to work well.
