I knew I was going to be angry and upset listening to this today. I thought it might take more than the first 5 minutes though. What the fuck is this opening statement? This is such bullshit!

I am not watching but just looked on Twitter and saw some of the things being said by Grassley and pictures of Dr. Ford, including on of her view of the dias with press and the prosecutor in front, and I started tearing up, so no, not watching.
I wish I could give her a hug. It wouldn't help but my heart is aching for her and for what is happening says about certain givernment leaders and our country.
Reminder: That women will be no friend to Dr Ford. She is a conservative prosecutor from a conservative state. She is an expert in knowing how to interview and question victims. She knows what Dr Ford's weak points will be. She knows how to manipulate her testimony.
YUP. I'm frightened and pissed off by the number of liberal women I see sharing articles about all her qualifications and being sooooo thankful that they hired someone so qualified and knowledgeable to do the questioning.
No. Maybe the one silver lining is that it's not one of the GOP assholes on the committee, but the reality is that she is much more dangerous than any of those buffoons are.

I hope people light up Collins and Murkowski's phones and make clear that voting for Kavanaugh means they are implicitly approving Grassley here and this entire way Ford is treated including the last minute "info" about how she is wrong and it was other people.
I know we should hold the male Senators accountable too but I just don't think they care about how she is treated beyond how it affects them. Murkowski especially has shown slivers of having actual human empathy and decency, so.
Feinstein is giving factual information about sexual assault and reporting. She also told a brief story about a constituent who survived an attempted rape at 17 and wrote to Feinstein to tell her that it has impacted for life for over 40 years and that she didn't tell anyone for many years after it happened.

I don't know who that female staffer (?) is behind Feinstein, but she is all of us right now. She looks like she's barely keeping it together and hasn't slept in weeks.

I had to switch to audio only but watched a bit live before everything started and I watched Dr. Ford taking deep breaths and composing herself. I'm tearing up thinking of how horrible this has been for her.

I was only keeping up on Twitter but I have to stop. I am in a big conference room in a meeting and just seeing pictures of Dr. Ford and hearing about what she is having to listen to and go through, and the Grassley comments/tone, has me covertly wiping tears.
Will anyone besides the prosecutor be allowed to question Ford?
Every senator gets five minutes and they can either use it themselves or give it away to whoever they want. I believe they can split it if they want.
So the Republicans will probably give most of their time to the prosecutor but some might use some/all their time to ask questions.
The Dems aren’t going to use the prosecutor but may give some/all their time to others. I think Chris Cooks said he might give his time to Harris or Klobuchar.
