If you like TV, I love Extra Hot Great. I also like their other podcast - Again with This: Beverly Hills, 90210. It is a recap/convo of every single episode of the original show.

I love The Moth. People up on stage, telling true stories, no notes. You hear some amazingly inspiring, moving, funny, and thoughtful stuff from celebrities and regular people alike. Whenever I’m between podcasts I go back to The Moth.
I also like Conversations with People Who Hate Me and Serial (though I haven’t started season 3 yet).
Ear Hustle - it’s about life inside San Quentin Peniteniary.
Criminal - all kinds of criminals (not just murder)
Mystery Show - a girl tracks down every day myserties. Example - her friend found this fancy belt buckle on the street one day as a kid. The host goes in search of its owner, finds out who he is, who had the buckle made, how it ended up lost on the street, etc. It sounds a bit odd, but the stories are sweet or funny or just fun.
The Habitat - an experiment involving a team of people living in potential Mars habitat. Nasa runs these experiments to design future missions.
Hi, my name is angryharpy, and I have a podcast addiction.
General News: Up First (it’s a mini-Morning Edition, perfect for staying informed with those calming NPR voices without a big time commitment) The Daily Today Explained The Impact (season 2 hits next month!) It’s Been a Minute
Politics and policy: Pod Save America Lovett or Leave It The Wilderness Hysteria The Weeds NPR Politics Embedded Amicus
International stuff: Pod Save the World Worldly
Miscellany: Fresh Air (depending on the guest) Slow Burn Serial The Dream (new podcast all about MLMs) Katie Couric (depending on the guest) This American Life Reveal (investigative journalism) Mom and Dad are Fighting (parenting) 2 Dope Queens Sooooo Many White Guys She Says (chronicles the story of a sexual assault victim)
Ask a Manager - the host is good at answering work questions. I listen to the problem and am like “damn, I don’t know” and then the host talks for twenty minutes and suddenly the answers are so easy! Lol.
Where Should We Begin - back for season 3 this month! It’s couples counseling sessions with real couples. It’s heavy but very interesting.
I'm just starting to listen to Up and Vanished from 2016. From the titles of the episodes, it looks like they found the bad guy, which is cool. I like all these cold case podcasts, but it's nice when there's a resolution. Some I like are: Embedded Cults Casefile Crimetown Stuff you Missed in History Class Someone Knows Something Accused is ok, but the person speaks so slowly! When I turn on the option to reduce silences, the length is reduced by about 30%! TED Talks are always cool
If you have kids: Circle Round Wow in the World Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. They haven't had a new one in forever, but there's about a dozen they made.
I listen to a lot of the ones previously mentioned, but I also started The Teacher's Pet recently.
It's an investigative podcast sponsored by The Australian about the disappearance of an Australian woman.
"Chris and Lyn appear to have the perfect marriage. But when Lyn goes missing, dark secrets are buried. This is no fairytale, but a sordid story of strangely close twin brothers, teenage student lovers, and probable murder." www.theaustralian.com.au/the-teachers-pet
I've been listening to the Teacher's Pet, and it's okay, I just wish it were condensed a bit more. I'm getting a bit tired of it and I'm starting to zone out when listening to it.
I'm also kind of over True Crime Garage. The Captain guy is starting to grate on my nerves more than usual.
I've been enjoying Casefile, I just have to find a good one. I can't listen to child death or any of the serial killer ones.
I love Generation Why. They wrap it up in one episode and keep it concise. I'm all caught up, though.
I need to find some new podcasts as well, maybe some that aren't about murder? lol. I can't do politics because that's already weighing on my mind every fucking day, I need a brief escape from that.
OHHHH. A really interesting one was a rec from here about a sex therapist counseling couples. Esther Perel. Very interesting one.

I mostly listen to true crime and love My Favorite Murder and What Did You Do? For something different and highly, highly entertaining, Mother May I Sleep With Podcast is great. The host and a guest watch/analyze/talk shit about Lifetime Movies. Start with the Jody Arias one!

Yeah, MFM is a comedy podcast about murder. I really like it.

It's so good! If anyone is thinking comedy and murder is an odd mix, the hosts are actually very respectful of the victims.

I’ll second/third
Where Should We Begin? The Dream . I just started it but I’m obsessed.
For lighthearted and hilarious, l love Mortified (people read their old diaries in from of an audience) and My Dad Wrote a Porno (a man and his friends read chapters of the erotic fiction novels his father wrote and self published, nsfw obviously but I am often gasping from giggling so hard.)
A few that I love that haven't already been mentions
-Why won't you date me w/ Nicole Byer (not safe for work/kids, lol) Nicole brings on guests and talks about dating and life, they look at her tinder profile and give suggestions, and she asks why they would/wouldn't date her. I love her body positivity. She is hilarious. And she can get surprisingly vulnerable.
-What Really Happened Andrew Jenks looks into things to figure out what really happened. Every episode is different, some more interesting than others, but I enjoy them all.
-Haunted Places Each episode is about a real haunted place, it talks about why/how it became "haunted" through stories. Its basically like a ghost story podcast.
-Serial Killers Discusses various serial killers - who they were, "why" they did it.
-Now What with Arian Foster Ex-NFL player interviews all sorts of different people. Hes had an astronaut, artists, therapist, sports people, comedians...basically everyone. And he always has a really interesting conversation with them
Who Weekly A really stupid pop-culture round up about all the "who" celebrities.
Ditto everything she said. I also like True Crime Garage (hosts can be annoying but will grow on you).
Serial - first season is the best. Insane. Season 3 just came out and I’m hooked.
Heavyweight
Homecoming. It’s a fictional story and has a few well-known actirs voicing the characters. Amazon Video is actually releasing a series soon starring Julia Roberts based on the story. It’s good!
I just listened to Uncover: Escaping NXIVM and it was mind blowing. It’s a story from the perspective of an actress who left the (alleged) cult that’s been in the news recently. Crazy.
Both are by Wondry and have the cheesy "this is what their conversations might have been" dialogue, but I enjoy the kind of behind the curtain aspect of the histories.
