I early voted on Saturday because work is going to be crazy today.
I am so nervous. We will be watching all of the coverage tonight but I just feel sick about it. I think I am having flashbacks to November 2016. What a nightmare that was.
Hard to believe that two years ago Obama was still President!

Well, vote for the right people, white women. If you're planning on coming through for racists and assholes again, stay home. It's raining and your blow out will get messed up.

Also, I remember voting for Obama standing in line for 2 ish hours while 9 months pregnant and having contractions. So again, fuck off with any excuses. If you can’t find time to vote, you may was well call yourself a white nationalist bc you’re doing fuck-all to stop them.
And no, I don’t think I’m being dramatic. IT IS DRAMATIC TO NOT VOTE AGAINST THIS EVIL.
ETA: bc this has come up. I’m talking about people who are not already disenfranchised. People who can make a plan but don’t. People who could vote but “they’re busy”. I know and understand that there are a ton of barriers made for voters, specifically non white voters. I work with the FL branch of the ACLU to fight these barriers.

I am working from home today to make sure that I can get there to vote. I will be walking in and pulling that Democratic lever. There are no good GOP choices, and even if there were, I still think that this election more than any other, you need to just vote Democrat.
Eleanor has a half day today so we’re going and taking her when she gets out of school. We’ve always taken her-she’s excited but bummed she can’t vote yet. 10 years kiddo and then you’re good.

I tried to go before work but the line at my polling place was already out the door (yay!). I'll go again after work this afternoon, when I have time to wait in line.
TIME TO TRY TO PUT OUT THE DUMPSTER FIRE THAT IS THE CURRENT STATE OF OUR REPUBLIC

Also, i voted early a week or two ago. I wanted to take the kids but I’ve been so busy, I didn’t want to run out of time. I let them wear my sticker and they high fived me: “Mommy, I’m glad you voted. Trump is horrible” we talk about politics, in kid’s terms, a lot with them.
They will never be “too busy to vote” like johnlennonfan in the Tuesday randoms. I don’t care if they’re 50, they will be in a lot of trouble with mom.

DS was super bummed that we took turns going to vote before he woke up. He’s always come with me, but I have a bunch of meetings I can’t miss today, and for some ridiculous reason our diattict is down to one voting booth. I had to go before the lines get out of control.

DH’s company sprang an out of town work trip on them a week ago, either not realizing or caring that it was Election Day and too late for advanced voting. He got up way early so he could be there when the polls opened at 6am before heading out of town. Very pleased with him because early in our relationship he was a Republican (mainly for fiscal voting purposes) but gradually has become so disgusted with the party that he votes with me now.
OH, and there were a lot of parents explaining to their kids what they were doing and why, and poll workers were all about engaging kids in the process.
No matter what happens today, there is hope for the future. If we do our jobs right, the next generation of voters will be less apathetic and be closer to the educated electorate our country needs.
I'm leaving work early to get my kid and go vote. I had to take her to a different school for care today and there were a lot of old people. I really hope we can oust our local congressman, he's an asshole.
I am OOT today so I early voted last week. I won't get home until 9:30pm today so I will miss most of the election coverage. It's probably for the best. I am feeling relatively numb today about all of this. I think 2016 broke me because I feel like I have no prediction or expectation of what will happen.
We went first thing this morning; super long line, so at least that’s good. Turnout is so important. My area is super red but I’m hoping there were Dems there today too.

I’m lucky because I work from home and H works nights so we can usually go whenever. Our polling place is also a less than 5 minute walk from our place. 👍🏻
Since I work from home, I’m waiting for everyone to head to work before I hit the polls.
I don’t think I have it in me to watch election coverage tonight. I truly hate our governor but for some reason outside of the city he is popular even with democrats so while I’m hoping for an upset, I’m not holding my breath.
