DS has no school today, so I'm having a slow morning. I'm at the table drinking coffee and flipping through the local newspaper. I just came across an advertisement and coupon for Florida's Natural orange juice. Memories.
My mom always had Florida's Natural or Tropicana orange juice in the fridge. Growing up in the early 80's, I always associate OJ as an 80's/90's (and earlier) fridge staple. It's not something we ever keep in the fridge now. I buy it maybe once a year? If that? And usually only if a winter cold is going through our house. Honestly, I couldn't imagine drinking coffee and OJ with the same meal. Too much acidity.
But maybe OJ is not a retro fridge item...?
Is it still pretty commonplace in the American fridge? Or has OJ gone the way of the grapefruit and lost its popularity to the smoothie and pomegranate juice trend?

My H has been keeping OJ in the fridge recently. I don’t drink it regularly now, it is too sweet for me most of the time. We always had some stocked growing up.
I will say I am obsessed with grapefruit juice but I can’t keep it at home because I like it too much and it is $$ and too carby. I save my liquid calories for beer.
Up until my mid-late 20s, yes (mid 40s now). Then the realization that juice has a lot of sugar came out, and it started getting really expensive too. Then no until earlier this year when DH has started drinking it (he dilutes it though) as part of a diet change.
I originally took this to mean whether or not you store you OJ in the fridge vs the cupboard or something and I was like, don't you have to store it in the fridge?
we go in spurts with having OJ. We currently do because I bought it for a recipe. When I was pregnant with DS, I craved OJ and couldn't keep enough of it in the fridge.

I let me kid drink apple juice at home sometimes, and let him order whatever he wants to drink when we're in restaurants. But OMG yes. The sugar. My kid would go crazy if he drank OJ every morning with breakfast. Sugar really alters his behavior. He was in the hospital for meds on Friday, and the nurse walked into his room and handed him a school cafeteria sized thing of chocolate milk. He drank it down in about 2 seconds flat. I looked at the nutritional info, and it had 29 grams of sugar!

We have OJ juice boxes because it’s my kids favorite juice. They bring a juice box for lunch every day. They also have a glass of apple juice every morning with their cereal. (Apple juice is the only kind that tastes good with DD1’s liquid vitamin mixed in).
My husband is addicted to the fresh squeezed OJ from Wegmans. It's like $12 for a 1/2 gallon. Expensive habit. But, he works from home and now spends pretty much $0 on going out for coffee, lunch etc. So, $12 a week on OJ isn't the end of the world. I do love it, but try not to have so much sugar. DS likes it sometimes too... but if he has juice he's more of an apple juice drinker. I buy the Simply Apple and make him drink it with 1/2 water.
When I first read the poll I thought you meant like do you keep OJ refrigerated or leave it in the pantry. LOL
We almost always have it in the fridge. If we're out its on the list to pick up when I do groceries. I know there's a lot of sugar in it but I think that's part of the reason DH and I very rarely get sick. Usually we'll drink a small cup most mornings.

Yes. My h drinks it/puts it in smoothies every day. My kids get 1/2 a cup a couple times a week. I buy the kind fortified with calcium. I’d say I buy 1/2 gallon every ten days. I never drink it because I only drink calories in wine or beer form!

No, it's not a regular item for us. Like everyone else though we buy it when we're sick, but then drink it diluted with plain seltzer. It always shocks me how much it costs when I go to buy it.
We did have it growing up though. But I remember it being like $1.00 or something a lot cheaper than it is now.
We only buy it on occasion - H drinks it more I mainly buy it when he's sick with a cold/upper respiratory crap. It's one of the few things he'll drink reliably when sick, and I've seen a number of times that if he drinks a glass when he first starts to feel sick he won't be down for the count. He has the worst "man-cold", so I'm all about preventing it!

This orange juice is so good. Its like getting on a plane and flying straight to an orange grove in Florida. I'll never drink regular orange juice again (but I don't drink the Wegman’s stuff very often, either).

My stepmom always had sunny d in the fridge in the 80s/90s. I rarely buy OJ unless there is something going around. The boys love it but prefer apple juice. I do usually have apple juice around.
We rarely had it in the fridge growing up (and when we did it was from frozen concentrate). Neither H nor I really care for it, so we only buy it if we have houseguests and are planning some kind of fancy breakfast (like for Christmas morning or whatever).
