DS2 was crying for awhile, so I went in to rock him. Came back to bed. Turns out it’s not 4am like I was thinking, so now I have to get up and I wasted like 10 minutes dealing with a crying baby. Not cool, kid.
Yesterday at work was really stressful and I worked a 12 hour day. Left the house at 5:30 and got home at 6:45. So I am working from home for the next two days because I am over people in the office and need a couple days to actually focus without all the constant interruptions.
Aaaaand, the kid is back to wailing, with an added “mommmmmyyyyyy dadddddyyyyy.” Sigh. Rise and shine!

I had a check up with my pulmonologist yesterday, and my lungs were clear and he was happy. I woke up at 2:00 this morning with a terrible cough and could not get back to sleep😢. I’m really hoping it passes quickly, but I’m a little nervous it may be an allergy to our new mattress that H loves. My commute is taking forever, and I have a full days of meetings and calls followed by a client dinner. I’m ready for the weekend.
I don't feel nearly as rested and relaxed as I should after a three day weekend.
Since we had the day off with the kids at school, DH decided to replace the spigot at the back of the house that's been leaking since he needs to turn the water to the house off. No plumbing surprises, everything is good. Great! Then he decides to replace the one of the front of the house too, because it's starting to go. So he starts that at 4pm. I get home with the kids after Girl Scout meetings at 5:45 and it's not fixed, can't turn the house water back on without water spraying all over the utility room, and dinner still needs to be made (he at least filled a pot with water for pasta before the water went off), and oh by the way, he's headed out of town today so it has to get fixed NOW. Turn water back on briefly so kids can brush their teeth and use the bathroom. Two more Home Depot trips, and we finally get it fixed at 9pm. I just wanted to drink a beer and watch Outlander
We leave for vacation early Saturday morning, but I've already checked out at work. I've been so busy the last 4 weeks that I'm totally looking forward to this break.
My son had a week off from school and we had a ball every single second of it. When he was in preschool 6 hours a week and it seemed like they closed constantly I thought I would die on weeks off, but 8 is spectacular! When I was in grammar school we had half days once a week and I wish it was the same for him. The school day is too long.

Hosting Thanksgiving is argh. My SIL has basically told me she’s bringing the veggie and that it’s green bean casserole, which like 2 of the 12 people attending will eat. Whatever. She also informed me that my MIL has ordered rolls from church to bring, which I’m glad I found out about because I was going to assign them to someone else.
I have a 3 hour training class over the next 3 days (9hrs total) and I'm not excited. It's the 2nd half of a 2 part class, so at least this will be it. The last trainer was kind of awful. When he actually went over the material, he was good. But he'd try to joke around or whatever and just came off as... awkward. We're all muted and can only chat with him, so it's like losing part of the conversation.
I'm bringing desserts for Thanksgiving this year. In addition to a pumpkin pie I decided to bring peanut butter golf balls (similar to a buckeye) and cookies. I only want to do one type of cookie, but I can't decide between these two:
We're leaving for a week at Disney on Saturday with H's entire family, around 25 people. Normally I would be stressed but I really just don't care and am just going to roll with it. My SIL made all the meal reservations and fast passes for everyone, I just plan on eating/drinking/doing rides and whatever. I'm just happy to have a week off work and get out of the nasty cold for awhile.
We're eating Thanksgiving dinner at Raglan Road and I'm seriously considering getting shepherd's pie for my thanksgiving meal.

I accidentally dried a pair of jeans that I usually hang dry. They’re already on the tighter end of fitting, I hope I didn’t ruin them. I don’t foresee me getting too much smaller anytime soon.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

Also, we have friends coming to Disney, which is about 45 minutes away with no traffic. They want to meet us at Disney springs during thanksgiving break and I 100% do not want to battle the atrocity that is i4 PLUS attractions area during the holidays.
I’m getting a panic attack just thinking about it.

I am not interested in work today...I want to plan Thanksgiving dinner. But I have so much to do, and I'm in the office. So I really should work. Or at the very least make an attempt, lol.
I feel like I say a variation of this every day...
My parents have been in town since Friday night. They are leaving tomorrow. It was a really fun weekend! It's been nice showing them where we live and hanging out.
I feel bad because I feel like I'm really quick to snap at my mom. I don't know what my issue is but I've noticed this the last few times I've seen her. It's mostly fine but certain things I find myself not being as friendly and nice as I mean to. I try to compensate when I realize this but it's annoying. She's a wonderful mom, I think she is just nicer and more helpful than I'm used to and it gets on my nerves quickly lol.

We're going to be at Disney Saturday-Friday! We're eating at Raglan Road on Sunday. It's our favorite place to eat!!
I have dinner ennui. We are going out almost every night this week through Sunday for various reasons so I feel like I need to cook but I don’t feel like anything or like cooking.
I feel so confused and lost..... everybody doesn’t eat cornbread dressing?!?! People put sausage and weird breads in there instead.... 😳
I've never had cornbread stuffing! I always use my grandmother's recipe, ripped up Italian bread, onions, celery, lots of fresh herbs, and a crap ton of butter. I have started adding sausage/turkey stock and using less butter since I bake mine outside the turkey, just to get some of the meaty taste my grandmother's had from actually being stuffed in the bird.

My grandmother makes it with a combination of homemade cornbread and white bread. It's amazing.
My ILs make it with all sorts of stuff in it, like sausage and apples. It's good but very different than cornbread dressing. When we used to go to 3 Thanksgivings a year, I liked that each one had a completely different dressing/stuffing.

Their Shepherd's pie is really, really good. A bit rich, but really good. Enjoy your week!

My Dad would always use cornbread, white bread, and some croutons. He liked that the croutons brought a little seasoning (mild, not weirdly seasoned croutons) and soaked up some of the liquid because he'd cook it in the turkey.

Wegmans has a really good herb stuffing with sausage recipe. every time I make it, people rave. I use a mix of corn bread stuffing and regular bread.

We do stuffing balls around the turkey. It’s the best of both worlds!

So, we've gone to Raglan Road every year for about 7 years now. We went to Ireland this February. DH and I both agreed that Raglan Road is pretty damn authentic compared to actual Irish food. You won't be disappointed! Make sure you make a reservation though. We've heard of the wait being upwards of 2+ hours for a table. The atmosphere is amazing as well. They have Irish dancers, Irish musicians, heavy Irish decor.
puppylove64 I've never had cornbread stuffing. And actually, it sounds kind of gross to me. I like cornbread just fine, but it's not the same as regular bread, consistency-wise. I make my stuffing with regular white bread, but I do not add any meat to mine.
My Thanksgiving Menu is getting out of control and I'm not sure when I'm going to find time to make everything. Luckily my SIL is coming over early the day of to help me with the stuff that can't be made ahead, but I'm already stressing.
I need ideas to get stains out of my carpet. After my dog was sick last week, there are still two spots that I can't get out and they are right smack in the middle of the carpet, so there's no hiding them. I'm running out of ideas. AND now she ate a pen yesterday (thanks for leaving that out DH) and I have a huge ink stain in the carpet. I'm open to any and all ideas/products because I'm out.

Folex is awesome for getting out stains - not sure if it will work on ink, though.
I found a great balmy lipstick (Bobbi Brown crushed lip color) last year and can’t believe it lasted a year of daily use.
Off to the OBGYN this morning because I found what I think is another boil starting. This makes 3 in a year and I’m a little concerned. At least I like my dr and was considering a hospital birth anyways.

You can try hairspray and blotting the area with a paper towel. It may take awhile, but it works. We had to do this in one of our apartments.
This is going to be such a weird year with Christmas gifts (and might be every year going forward, really!). H and I decided not to exchange. My siblings don't exchange with each other, and we don't do any gifts for H's family (they are in Europe and aren't close anyway). I will get something for my niece, nephew, parents, and grandmother. And that's probably it. We don't do friend gifts either.
I wonder if I should get something for my supervisor? I'd rather not, but I'd feel bad if she got me something and I didn't for her. That happened my first year at my last job and I was like "oh yeah I left your gifts at home, I'll bring them Monday!".
I also usually do an office secret santa sort of thing and exchange with any close coworkers, but I don't have any coworkers anymore so there won't be anything like that.
I don't really love shopping and always stress about what to get people, but it feels a little anti climactic and weird not to buy hardly anything. I'm going to take a look at our budget and see if maybe we can sponsor a kid or something with the money we're saving by not buy stuff for everyone else in our lives.
