I’m waiting for my Christmas tree delivery. I’ve never had a real tree before. It was really expensive (or maybe not. It felt expensive. Lol) but we have no place to store a fake tree so, it was this or nothing.

Ours was $80. I don’t remember it being that much last year, but we got it at the same place so it must have been.
I'm starting a big side tattoo today. 5 or 6 hours and it's only the first session. I'm excited and scared. I just really hope I chose the right artist. It's a lot of time, money and permanence for it to not be what I want. His drawing is gorgeous, just hoping it translates well on me.

I was supposed to go to a bingo benefit this evening with my mom and sister, but a close friend (H's BFF) needs us. His girlfriend, who I mentioned being in the ICU, isn't doing well at all. We are hanging out and going out to distract him today.
I’m recovering okay from my surgery yesterday. Had a nerve block so I’m not in any pain. I’m actually impressed at how much the docs are paying attention to reducing opioid use for pain management.
My grandfather’s health is declining. We saw him over Thanksgiving. Since then he’s stopped eating. Woke up spunky today, but probably doesn’t have too much longer. I’m glad we were able to spend the holiday with him, but man it’s a tough time of year for this to happen. He’s been the patriarch of our family and is the sole reason that I joined the military. I’ve been so honored to serve in his footsteps.
My kid said last night her legs and head hurt. Same thing this morning. She’s getting her 6yr molars, so we’re guessing it’s that. Thankfully Tylenol is working, but she’s pretty mopey.
Otherwise no plans today. DH wants to go research routers bc last time I bought the one everyone recommended, it wouldn’t work. So I have no idea what to get.
I’m not sure why I shop online anymore for clothes. I return about 90% of the things I buy. So - today I’m heading to the mall to make a bunch of returns, ugh. I guess since I’m there I can do some Christmas shopping.

Mine was $140 but that includes delivery, set up, the tree stand and a little mat for under the tree, and disposal. Living in a second story apartment, I appreciate not having to carry the tree places. I was willing to throw money at this particular problem.

I’m so irritated with my mother. For the second time in a couple months we made plans to do X on Y day, she didn’t write it down, made other plans and can’t do X thing anymore, and claims the conversation didn’t happen. It’s frustrating in itself and then makes me wonder about her - she’s 67 and still has a highly demanding job that has her traveling multiple times/week. Starting to think her age is catching up to her but mainly really annoyed about it’s implications on my day today.

This is super-annoying. Does she use a calendar that you can send an invite to, like iCal or Google? That way when you agree on it, she has it in her calendar and won’t forget.
I’m horrible at remembering this stuff unless I put it in my calendar right away...
Going to my parents house today to make sausage balls for Christmas. Planning on an early dinner, and then we’re taking all of the kids over to a park a few blocks away where they have a massive Christmas light display. I’m excited!
We’re babysitting my 5 year old nephew overnight and my sister is giving me one of their elves so I have to figure out what to do with him tomorrow morning lol

my mom has no ability (or maybe desire) to plan ahead.
My sister (whom I don’t always get on with but she always comes for the boys’ bdays) will be here for less than 48 hours. My mom never canceled or tried to rearrange her church plans. So now she’s all “I don’t think I can do much, I have so much church.” Woman. You knew about this since OCTOBER. you just refused to change your plans for your family, which is par for the course with her.
I don’t get it. She whines about never seeing us but then —-doesn’t see us.

This seems like a good price for all of that! I’d pay that in a heartbeat!
I have a Christmas party tonight and my mom jumped at the opportunity to puppysit. I’m sooo happy about getting a break from my puppy while not having to worry about her. I’m honestly so happy that I want to cry. I’ve needed this.
DS and I spent two hours and $400in the dog ER this morning only to find out the dog is fine. She woke up and went outside and when she came back in, she was acting like something was stuck in her throat and she was visibly scared, wanting help. She was breathing, but kept hard swallowing and making gagging noises while sticking her tongue out, like she was trying to get something out of her throat. We couldn’t see anything, but got her to drink some water, which didn’t seem to help. Didn’t see any clues in her crate and she wasn’t getting better, so off we went. The vet still doesn’t know what it could be but her exam and X-rays were normal and the episodes have calmed down. But four.hundred.dollars. Ugh.

Ha - jinx!
Add me to the club.
I have 6 blue bags sitting on my floor from Old Navy and Gap that I need to go thru and basically return most of it. Luckily I can ship them back but I still have to prepare the bags and get them to the post office.

I haven't slept in anything other than a few hour increments through the night for almost 2 weeks. I'm so tired of feeling tired, and I'm getting sick on top of that.
My BF has been gone a week for job related training and it'll be nice to have him home tonight. I get pretty bored of myself but I DID finish my huge puzzle over several nights and I'm overly excited about it, lol.
Pregnancy brain + snow jealousy - when you say North Texas you're referring to the Panhandle right? I always thought DFW was "North Texas"....
To tell the truth, I thought it was snowing there too? Definitely snowing in the Panhandle.
I was hoping we were a little closer together! Wiki tells me "North Texas (also commonly called North Central Texas, Northeastern Texas, and Nortex) is a term used primarily by residents of Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas to describe much of the northern portion of the U.S. state of Texas. Residents of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex generally consider North Texas to include the area south of Oklahoma, east of Abilene, west of Paris, and north of Waco. A more precise term for this region would be the northern part of the central portion of Texas. It does not include the Panhandle of Texas, which expands further north than the region previously described, nor does it include most of the region near the northern border of Texas."
Unfortunately not yet. We have cold rain and its 41.
We're supposed to get snow starting tonight, and need to go to the grocery store. That's... going to be a fun trip. The store is open 24hrs and I tried to get H to go this morning when he woke up at 630am.
We don't know how much snow we're going to get either. The news stations are showing our area as 2" - 8". Real helpful guys!
I need to run some Christmas-related errands, but I know it's going to be a zoo out there. I think I'll take an afternoon off work and run them then instead.
We're too far south (Georgia) to get snow from this system, but we are on track to get several inches of rain between tonight and tomorrow. I want to cook and bake and just be cozy in preparation for the storm, but nothing in my cookbooks or Pintrest is inspiring me right now. I may just go to the store and wander around for awhile.
