Guys, please turn it off and stop giving him and the networks the ratings justifications to keep putting him on.
You can watch clips on twitter if you really need to see it. There are literally a million other better things you can be doing with your time. Go watch Stormy Daniels fold laundry or play Candy Crush or argue about errand anxiety.
To my defense... I was watching Maddow who switched it it.
Agreed! But can you edit your post per the board norms? Thank you. 😊
I gather based on your request that it must be some sort of @ related show, but unless I’m missing some deleted text, this seems like an overbroad application of the @ rule.

Isnt it a reality show about 20-something yacht crews?

Yes yes, it's Wonkette, so it's not like reading a Pro Publica masterpiece, but it is better sourced than a Seth Abramson twitter thread, and it is has more curse words. Much of it is a summary of this article, written by a legit award winning investigative journalist, which focuses on the money laundering antics of Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev, so you could read that too.
The TLDR: the Saudi Crown Prince MBS recently bought a Da Vinci that many suspect to be fake from Rybolovlev, and the article ties some things together and concludes that the the payment to Rybolovlev was not for the painting, but for antics associated with Trump's election. Rybolovlev was the guy who laundered money by buying that Trump property in Florida ten years ago, and also the guy whose plane mysteriously kept showing up on the tarmac next to Trump's during the campaign. So this is not just any random Russian. Erik Prince's name comes up a lot, if you have been following him.
Very juicy article. I know that parts of it are speculation, but there was a lot of background info that I didn't know.

Vox tweet citing NYT: Trump didn’t want to give the speech but advisors talked him into it - article: t.co/4uk5zrdZWQ?amp=1
Huh. I had assumed his advisers gave him Prime Time to placate him and redirect from his emergency powers tantrum.
ETA: I’m still made at the networks that aired it, but it makes me feel a little better that Trump wasn’t getting something he really wanted by going to Prime Time.

You missed something.
Well I’m glad I wasn’t too snarky then. I was all riled up at Cheeto. Sorry
Watching O’Donnell after Maddow. We talked about his “Build the Wall” tweet he sent out? No? Well, he sent out a link to Build the Wall fund. (I’m sure we talked about it because I recall talking about the other guy’s Build the Wall Fund being rolled into it, etc. and it being set up for graft or for his re-election campaign.)
O’Donnell showed messages “Get $5 before 9:00 EST” e-mails and “we didn’t get money so we’re extending time” and yup, the fine print states it isn’t to Build the Wall but rather goes to the Make America Great Trump Campaign Fund. He’s cheating his own supporters.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
So the reactions I’m seeing, are that he was phoning it in. Can you imagine the tantrum coming?
Chickenshit Mitch needs to get the fucking govt open. Now.
Reading a speech to camera is not his comfort zone. It’s a piece of equipment, not a roaring mass of instantaneous feedback. I see how he didn’t live up to his own hype.

I don't know how to use the live TV portion of our new Hulu subscription yet so I couldn't have watched if I wanted do.
That said, I didn't want to so I watched an old episode of Friends on Netflix.
Totally off the topic of Trump, but we’ve found that the easiest way to navigate the live TV part is to go to Browse at the top of the home screen, then down to Networks. It will bring up every channel in alphabetical order and show what is on at that time. Once you’re watching a live show, you can click either up or down (sorry, can’t remember which!) and it will bring up a sort of guide like a regular cable tv connection, but we still prefer to just browse the networks page. Hope that helps!

Serious question: can Senate Republicans replace McConnell? It seems like some feel like they want to open the voting and he's holding them hostage.
I teach history and government. I feel like I should know this...
Yes but it would require a majority of the caucus to force a revote or more likely force him to resign. If it reached that point I expect he’d resign rather then risk a vote that would split the caucus.
Isn’t it common for the opposing party to try to get an on screen rebuttal to this kind of thing? Whether they be the House speaker or minority leader or whip?
I’ve got someone swearing this was so disrespectful to the office of the presidency and this never happened to Obama, etc.

Plus the culture of the GOP, at least on the Senate side, is to follow the leader. Embarrassing him like that after the success he’s had for institutionalizing their ideology would be unheard of. I don’t think most of them even give a shit about parts of the government being shut down TBH.
If you do watch some news tonight, AOC on Maddow was great.
So damn refreshing to finally have more Democrats who are not afraid to just call Trump a racist without equivocation.
Agreed. I listened this morning and was left even more certain that Schumer and Pelosi had messed up with their dull "rebuttal." AOC showed serious passion.
In general I'm a big fan of Pelosi being Speaker, but I think part of her job - and she even promised to do this! - is to recognize which times call for sending out more vibrant people in her party.
