I got a text from the Gillibrand campaign. She hasn’t hit 65k donors yet and won’t be on the debate stage unless she does. She told me to tell a friend to donate. You are all my friends. Who wants to give a buck?
Harris is doing a town hall debate on Lawrence ODonnell now and she’s the best I’ve seen her so far this season. It’s worth finding it and watching.
I want all four women senators on the senate stage kicking ass.
At last, new debate requirements for the third (and fourth, if needed - the cap is still 20 total with 10 per) debate so the field can start to narrow (if people haven't already dropped like flies by then).
The short version: • 2 percent support in four party-sanctioned polls between late June and August • at least 130,000 donors since the start of the campaign, including at least 400 from 20 different states
I really wanted to host a debate watch party, but my parents are moving in with us like 2 days after the first debates, and I think it might just be too much.
I watched Kamala Harris last night and was really impressed. Granted, I'm a little biased because she's been my favorite all along. Biden needs to go away, but at least he's distracting Trump from harassing the others. (so far. I think that's good?)

thanks for the reminder, i just made small donations to harris and gillibrand.
Going to attend an Elizabeth Warren town hall on Friday night! I've never been to a town hall before. I'm so excited.
If you've been to a town hall before, how does it work? I'm imagining that if you have a question, you tell someone, and they'll decide whether to call on you? Or does she just randomly pick people from the audience?
I need to think about what my question will be!!!!

The Harris town hall was great. I think she'll do even better in the debates. I just talked to a friend yesterday about a watch party. We're doing night one at my house and night two at hers. Hah.
Gillibrand probably qualifies for the debates based on polling over 1% on some national polls. So far, here's who qualifies based on donors:
Joe Biden Bernie Sanders Kamala Harris Elizabeth Warren Beto O'Rourke Pete Buttigieg Andrew Yang Tulsi Gabbard Julián Castro Cory Booker Marianne Williamson
Those who qualify based on polling:
Amy Klobuchar John Delaney Jay Inslee John Hickenlooper Kirsten Gillibrand Tim Ryan Eric Swalwell Bill de Blasio
Those who do not yet qualify:
Seth Moulton Mike Gravel Wayne Messam Michael Bennet
I'm WTFing some potential voters based on this information, that's for sure.

At the Warren town hall we went to a few weeks ago, they handed out raffle tickets to folks who had questions, then after she did her speech, they pulled tickets from a box and called the numbers. There were folks in the audience with microphones to go to the people who had the numbers called.
msmerymac I cannot believe de Blasio is polling at 1%. I would have expected him to somehow be polling in the negative digits lol.
I'm not voting for him in the primary but he does represent the largest city in the US in a highly dense blue area. He probably has 80% name recognition in NJ/NY/CT. He's been on cable news. He's traveled to early states. Early polling is deceptive because it has a lot to do with name recognition.

Who is Marianne Williamson and how does she have all these donors?
I'm a little confused as to who Yang's donors are too.
I'm still trying to figure it out. I think she's some kind of life coach, motivational speaker or something along those lines and appeared on Oprah once upon a time?
Who the FUCK is voting for Tim Ryan? I’m assuming some poll out there consisted of only Youngstown OH voters because on his PSA interview, he talked like it was the only city in the country.

I am so glad to hear this. I felt like she played it too safe and deflected too many times in her last town hall, which was frustrating because she's so much better than that. I wasn't able to catch this last night but I recorded it. I can't wait to watch.

And likely folks who want "new blood" and remember his name before Seth Moulton or Beto O'Rourke as trying to get rid of that corporate sellout Nancy Pelosi. Or don't know squat and see him as "moderate" just as they see Kasich as a moderate.
The Vermonter hoped to reset his White House bid with a home-state Montpelier rally expected to draw up to 5,000 people Saturday — until the actual event attracted only about half that, causing staffers to question the media’s reporting of the “surprisingly underwhelming” crowd.
ETA and because he is the Trump of the left, the grifter is fighting back on crowd size.

😂 We happened to be in Montpelier! We knew there was some event and when I saw it was for Bernie I was like we need to GTFO I can't accidentally be a part of this. There was a farmer's market that ended right before the rally, so I'm sure a decent chunk of people were there for other reasons.

LOL. Maybe Jane was at the farmer's market trying to sell mushrooms foraged from the former grounds of Burlington College, so they were counting crowds like it was a double header.

This doesn't surprise me, though. He's had to start at around his ceiling. He had essentially universal name recognition among Democrats. I assume once the herd thins and people become more familiar with the other candidates, his numbers will only keep going down.

I went to a Warren town hall and it was more like a rally. They randomly selected three people to ask questions. She did stick around and take pictures with everyone who wanted one. I didn't wait around, but that part probably took as long as the town hall.
