dreamcrisp1 that is so frustrating. I hope he feels better with the new cream. My son also has a lip tie and a slow gainer still at 9 months. I have asked everyone, several pediatricians, a GI, 2 lcs and everyone says his latch is good so the lip tie can’t be the issue. It’s really frustrating that nothing changes and my questions are being dismissed.
starburst604 how is your daughter doing and how are you? I don’t think I have seen any updates and I have been thinking of you. I hope things are better.

Thanks so much for asking!! She ended up spending 5 nights in the hospital but once home made a super speedy recovery. It’s like she was never sick!! Amazing how quickly kids can bounce back. She has declared that she HATES the hospital and NEVER wants to go there again! I’m on board with that!

dreamcrisp1 all that is so rough to deal with! We too are dealing with weight gain issues again, mosty due to supply and waiting too long to supplement with formula/moving more towards exclusively pumping since he still falls asleep nursing combined with colds and the holidays. It's so hard emotionally dealing with weight issues in our LOs since we are their primary care giver. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to be too hard on yourself, we're all just learning and adapting as we find out where we need to adjust. I would be extremely frustrated with the eczema situation as well. I hope you find something that works for you guys soon. I hope you are getting some support for your PPA as well. Sending lots of hugs!!
I hope everyone's littles start feeling better! It's been a rough cold season already.
My poor baby has pneumonia that likely stemmed from the flu (they said there was no point in testing for the flu it since its past the point they'd give tamiflu and it doesn't change the course of treatment). Her oxygen levels were acceptable enough to discharge after spending much of the day at the hospital. My poor sad girl. I really hope the antibiotics work and she is better in a couple days. She has been sick pretty much since New Years and selfishly, its crushing me both physically and emotionally.

scm1011 my oldest had the flu and pneumonia as a little baby. From my experience, the antibiotics work FAST! Coughing up the crud started almost immediately. I hope the same for you little one!

hamster when my oldest had it (she’s had it twice now, once as a little bitty, once as a big-little) it always came on the tail of a bad virus. She had a wet, nasty cough that lasted forever and never sounded better. She would have a fever on and off. She always seemed sick, whereas, when a regular cold with a cough was clearing, she was back to herself, just had a junky but getting better cough for a while.
Both times I thought maybe she had bronchitis, but her doc always sent her for an x-day, lo and behold, both times it was pneumonia.
scm1011 I am so sorry! I hope she is feeling better soon! DD has been sick since New Years as well (not nearly that sick though!) and it really is draining.

Thanks! C has had a pretty nasty cough for the last week so pneumonia has definitely been a concern. He definitely doesn't act like he is sick and no fever, and the snot is just starting to lessen. I just wish he could hock up a loogie or something!

D has had a nasty cough for going on a month now, and was so snotty/phlegmy she was puking a couple times a day. We've been to the doctor several times over the last month and up until yesterday her oxygen levels were good, her lungs sounded clear, and her fever was low (100ish). Yesterday, her fever spiked up to 102.7, her oxygen levels were a lot lower, and they heard stuff in her lungs so they sent her for a chest xray (OMG SO SAD. They had to put her in this medieval contraption that terrified her), and they found pneumonia.
She's home with DH today and I'm really hoping by the time I get home from work today she's feeling a lot better.

scm1011, was it the baby tube? It's AWFUL. I understand why they have to have the baby in that position, but, omg, poor baby! Thank goodness they're fast!

It’s horrible. I specifically asked if DD2 (17 or so months when we went through it) was going to be put in the tube and they told me no that she was big enough for me to just hold her. BIG FAT LIE. so I wasn’t even mentally prepared for it.
Oh geeze!! So much illness going around. Hugs to everyone who's dealing with it. scm1011, LOL at medieval. That thing does look insane.
We're doing ok right now. DS is 5.5 months and still STTN and he's really enjoying solids. We've done a bunch of veggies, fruits and last night we did oatmeal which he LOVED. I think we'll bump it up to twice a day soon because he's also been gobbling down tons of BM at daycare. As predicted, I've basically bought all of his purees unlike DS1 who I made them for. Ha. Poor second kid. It's just so much easier and I don't have the time, patience or desire to deal with puree making.
Well D had a blow out on the way to target and I had no wipes in the bag. I did not learn this until I took off his poopy pants all over his legs. So. Yeah.

So my son is just over 7.5 months old. He had been STTN (albeit only until 5:30am) until this past week. Every night he is waking more often and staying awake for longer, last night being the worst. He is crying and obviously upset. We assumed teething, but he has yet to show any signs of cutting any. I guess I am wondering if this is due to his leap, sleep regression or if he possibly has an ear infection or something else going on. I couldn't even comfort him last night by holding him. He was perfectly happy all day today except napped terribly and refused his last nap so he went to bed at 6:30pm. He was already crying in his sleep for a few minutes at 7pm, 7:15 and 7:30pm (I'm in the UK, currently 8:30pm) but has been quiet since. I guess I am just looking for a reason for this and any commiseration. He is also going through some separation anxiety, but I think if that was it he would calm when I pick him up.
@goodygumdrop looks like you joined us for the 9m sleep regression! It has a much bigger range of when it actually occurs, but both of mine started at 7m.
hamster, I feel your pain. Monday I swung by work with both kids to grab my laptop (I'm off Mondays, was taking Tuesday off to stay home with Z because the flu hit the sitter's house) and realized that Z had finally pooped. Poor baby had been stopped up for almost a week, and we'd been pushing prune concentrate in her bottles and prune baby food with dinner. So yay, right? Wrong...no wipes in the diaper bag. Thank goodness I keep baby wipes in my desk for quick cleanup of small people! Z was QUITE pleased with herself for having pooped and that she got to roll around on my office floor while I got the dirty clothes dealt with
Z was on a hot streak of mostly STTN for the last week and a half or so but in the last couple nights it's gone to hell again. She was home with my husband yesterday and didn't nap well so maybe last night was due to that. Or maybe 9 month sleep regression early. Or teeth. Or...who knows? At least I got some sleep for 10 days or so, the continued lack of sleep was getting to me.
As predicted, I've basically bought all of his purees unlike DS1 who I made them for. Ha. Poor second kid. It's just so much easier and I don't have the time, patience or desire to deal with puree making.
Ha, same here! With AJ I was all about making his purees. This time around? Yeah no. Jarred baby food all the way!
My twins are 6 weeks tomorrow and so far combined they are better sleepers than DD2 was... I mean I’m still up every 3 hours or so, but have gone as long at 5 hours. Compared to DD2 who didn’t give me a 2 hr stretch for forevvvver.
If this baby doesn’t sleep soon I’m going to die. She sleeps during the day and she’s gassy/colicky at night. So far she has slept 45 minutes x2. And has been yelling for 2.5 hours unless I’m holding her. I’m honestly afraid I’m gonna fall asleep and drop her. I thought my second baby wasn’t supposed to be like the first 😩. Dd1’s colic was worse, but this just is not fair.

sunflower17 - hang in there! I know you technically know this, but it will get better! For what seemed like a good stretch of time, the only way I could get L to sleep any length of time was holding him, but slowly but surely he learned to sleep on his own. And looking back, it wasn't nearly as long as it felt in the moment. While I also know not everyone is comfortable with it, I ended up somewhat co-sleeping during those nights so I could function. Sometimes me being reclined on the couch with him on my chest, sometimes with him next to me in bed moving all the covers out of the way. I know I didn't sleep as soundly as I truly needed to, but it was better than nothing at all.
Also, as dumb as it sounds, I now miss the occasional sleeping in my arms. But, I'm also too scared to really allow it for fear of regressing back into bad sleep habits.

I am kind of stressed. DS is 9 months and still under 17 pounds, 5% which is a lower % than last time. He has been pretty much sick all of dec and Jan, so had periods where he didn’t eat that well. He eats purées, I add chicken or beef to them and some BM. He likes yogurt and sometimes pb. I don’t know what to do to get him to gain. He never drank more than 4 oz of milk at a time. I see kids in daycare who have 4 8-9 oz bottles of bm plus food. He is very active, non stop. The dr said he is not worried. I just want to make sure he has enough for proper development. Sorry for the brain dump, this has been a cause of stress for me for all these months.

17lbs at 9 months seems like a pretty good weight to me! DD was an active and skinny creature and she was 19lbs at a year. I know boys are supposed to be a bit bigger but I don’t think there has to be that much of a difference. I know it’s easier said than done but if the doctor is not concerned then keep on keeping on. Soon he will be able to eat some more fat rich foods- cheese and bread with butter. Since DD was so small I continued to nurse her overnight until she was one. It sucked but she wasn’t inclined to sleep through the night anyway.

Oh yeah, we nurse overnight and I am not planning on stopping based on his weight.

My little guy is a bit younger, but I totally feel you on the stress of weight gain. L was 7% at 2 months and was only 3% at 4 months. He's gaining weight, but we've also been dealing with colds off and on since Christmas and I think he may be getting another one
It sounds like your little guy is still eating well, so try not to worry too much, especially if the dr isn't concerned and he is still gaining weight. But I totally understand being worried. I can't wait until we're able to start giving L food to help with calories. We add formula here and there since I can't always keep up with BM, but oh my goodness the gas that formula creates is outrageous. Even his teachers commented on it the other day because it was so bad/loud.
