While discussing likes and dislikes for houses, I realized that I have no idea what I like or what "style" I have. Our bedroom right now is just a hodge podge of Ikea furniture and random.
What do your bedrooms look like? What do you like or dislike?
It’s small we used to have mirrored closet doors and they always fell off the tracks so we took them off. The closet is open. Queen sized sleigh bed, 2 nightstands and a dresser. I discovered that there is a wood floor underneath the carpet. I would love to tear up the carpet and have wood floors in our room. Our bedroom is nothing special. We spend most of the time sleeping , so we don’t need anything fancy.
Our bedroom is huge. Stupidly so. It was an addition that the previous owners built.
It has an ensuite with whirlpool tub, walk in shower, double sinks, and lots of space for both of us and the kids to be in there. Not that we want them to be, they just always seem to be.
It has a walk in closet with built ins that is quite large. Probably 12x12?
The room itself has lots of space and a fireplace. I like MCM style and color and we have a bright kelly green kingsize bed, two MCM nightstands, a bookshelf, a small MCM buffet that we turned into a record/music cabinet, and a bench. We need a love seat or two arm chairs for the fireplace area.
I dislike the size because its stupid and we don't have enough stuff to put in it and don't want to have more stuff. I dislike the tub because we never use it and I would have rather had more cabinets or shelving. I wish they had built a windowseat into one of the windows. I like that its on a separate level from the rest of the house so it feels a bit more private.

Our bedroom is the least styled room in the house (besides the kids hot mess rooms). It’s functional and cozy. But no real style. King bed with wood headboard, 2 nightstands with lamps, dresser, highboy, TV and Roman shades. Wall to wall carpet. We also have a sitting room that has all our old misfit family room furniture and another TV. The entire suite is very spacious but nothing to write home about. No one sees it but us so I’m just happy it’s comfortable and homey.

3 walls white, 1 bright blue. Bed is against the blue wall. Two Ikea posters of succulents above the bed (blue green colors that match the blue wall with white frames).
Bed is simple and modern, black metal. Bedside tables are midcentury modern style but cheap from Wayfair.
Two simple closets with sliding doors, hardwood floors. It's simple and free of clutter.

We have a little ranch house that was really thoughtfully built. Our bedroom isn’t huge, but really a great room. We have 2 windows, small his-and-hers closets and a little en-suite bathroom with a bathtub/shower combo. We painted the bedroom a pretty gray, our furniture is black, curtains are white. Our bed frame is black metal, my husband also gave me a stand-up jewelry case that fits in the little space between our closet doors and a yellow-framed stand-up mirror. It’s more of a buttery yellow than electric yellow. We have a zig-zagging corner shelf that hangs by our bed that has some pictures on it, a few colorful carnival glass vases from my grandma, and our wedding cake topper on it. Our bedding is gray sheets (I have light and dark I switch between) with a sea-blue-green comforter. I also have a lot of pillows on our bed, because it makes it feel more luxurious. There’s a little black and white fluffy throw I put across our bed every day when I make it - I thought it looked cozy, but it’s really for my butthead cat who likes to sleep all day while I’m working to pay for his litter and cat food 🤣 We also have 2 paper-cuttings of peacocks in frames on our walls that are soft pinks, purples, and blues with some gold.

Hard wood floors (dark stain) and white walls. It is very small. Two modern, non matching white nightstands, a queen bed with blue, grey, white bedding, grey throw pillows and throw blanket, and a Chinese cedar chest at the foot of the bed. A litho of trees on the walls and a dark wood modern ceiling fan. There is a little white sheepskin on the floor and a black bamboo hamper.

I like it but I know eventually I’ll want to redo it. We moved in 5 years ago. I think it’s in between traditional and modern. I recall it’s about 12’x18’ with an additional small entryway space.
- Grey walls (DH says it looks light purple though) - Light grey carpet - Dark brown Bassett furniture: king bed with partial leather headboard, nightstands on each side, one tall chest and one dresser with a mirror - Rotate between blue-ish bedspreads and curtains for our one window. - Two long reach-in closets plus a separate smaller storage closet - Sloped ceiling - Some artwork but we’ve mostly been terrible with wall decor everywhere since we’ve moved in
No master bathroom but we are strongly considering creating a (small) one someday.
I live in a rental, so my walls are a very light tan color and all the trim is painted a lighter brown and I have tan carpet.
South wall is a sliding patio door with hideous vertical blinds. I wanted to install floor length curtains but there’s a weird protrusion from the ceiling that would make it look weird. It takes up the entire wall, minus 1 foot on each side.
West wall has my dresser and a sliding barn door leading to the living room. On top of the dresser, I have a jewelry box, a metal monogram, and my tv.
North wall has a sliding barn door going to the bathroom along with some artwork that was supposed to tie the colors from my bed to the nonexistent curtains.
East wall has my bed and two nightstands. Nightstands each have a simple lamp on them. I have decorative books stacked on one alongside a candle.
I apologize if these are huge:
Like: Simple, clean design Sunlight coming thru the patio door during the morning
Dislike: Vertical blinds Massive barn doors that take up over half of the wall Tan on tan on tan

Second tiniest bedroom in the 20 years we’ve been together. Not redone (yet - just started painting the entryway and living room this evening).
One weird sea blue accent wall, popcorn ceiling and beige other ways (previous owners’ color choice).
One small reach-in closet.
Likes: Hardwood floors Thick grey area rug California king sleep number adjustable bed Grey tufted headboard My recliner/reading corner Nightstands with storage My chest of drawers Room for Great Danes (boy sleeps under our bed, girl sleeps on dog bed next on my side). Vegas-style super dark blackout drapes.
Dislikes DH’s monster tv Small closet (my clothes are in the office) Honey oak cabinets above tiny closet Poor air flow even with both windows open.
We have a tiny bedroom. Our 2 bedroom house is under 900 sq feet. We have a bed and two nightstands. Our lights are pendants because we have no room. Instead is having anything hanging on the walls, we added the room trim. We also custom made our bed to have drawers in the base. It’s my favorite piece of furniture.
You guys are all so good at being adults our bedroom is just a mess of hand-me-down dressers and night stands, with a cheap Target corner desk on my side of the room. We paid some nice money for our bed and bed frame (king size Casper with their platform) but we've never picked out a headboard. My dresser is so cluttered. one day I'll make our bedroom pretty and cozy. One day.

Our bedroom is painted dark blue (Oxford Blue). Our rug is a pale grey. As it's London and there are no closets in houses, we have two large white wardrobes from IKEA. We also have two white tallboy dressers, two white side tables and a white metal king sized bed. We are currently using a pale grey blanket. I never got around to adding much to the room in terms of decorating other than a picture of Barney. We're moving in a few months so hopefully I'll do something with the new room.

I do have some under bed storage but it is not built in. Our house is almost 100sq ft and also a 2 br. I think it’s 10x 12 and we have a King size bed. We have lived here 2.5 years and still have not quite finished with it.

Ours is pretty large. One wall is painted a bold blue-green and the other three walls are a lighter version (this was the previous homeowner’s decision and we haven’t changed it). Our bed is on the bold wall. For furniture we have a king sized bed on a frame without a headboard, I’m planning to make a fabric headboard to mount to the wall. In addition we have a super ugly love seat that we just didn’t have anywhere else to put. I don’t know what else to put in here, since we have a large walk in closet off of the en suite bathroom that holds all of our clothes with room to spare.
It’s a good sized room. Not huge, but plenty of space to movie. Lilac walls. We bought a furniture set when we moved in because our room is right off the main living area. We wanted it to look nice.
Small master bath, but as 90% of the time, we’re not getting ready at the same time, it’s not an issue.
2 closets in the corner. So we each get one. They aren’t huge, but as we used to share a closet the same size as one, they feel huge since we don’t have to share! 😂
It’s actually an addition that was a living room (when there are 2 other living spaces! And the house is only 2100 sq ft. Who needs 3 living rooms?!) , but the previous owners made it a bedroom. So - we have a door that leads to a set of stairs to a storage basement below us and there is also a door to outside. It’s werid for a bedroom!!
Ours is decorated with laundry. Dirty laundry. Clean laundry waiting to be folded. Folded laundry waiting to be put away. Random Singleton socks waiting to be matched up. And shoes on the floor.

Ours is almost exactly like fryjack2's. Stupidly big. King size bed under-bed storage platform, 2 huge dressers, nightstands (from Restoration Hardware--it took them 6 months to deliver the bed). Ensuite bath, walk in, fireplace, a coffee table and huge cushy chair from IKEA. The one thing is doesn't have is any decorations. No pictures, no artwork, flimsy fabric blinds--I want to take a chunk of money and decorate! It's ok, but I don't love it.

I’m with you. The rest of the house is fairly decorated and finished but our bedroom has just been the lowest priority. We have an awesome king tempurpedic mattress with no headboard. Our one dresser and 2 nightstands are from target and we got them around 2001, for our first apartment, lol. The bedroom is a good size with 2 wall in closets and a decent sized master bathroom. We just need to make it a priority.

Soft, calm, and unstyled. It's pretty to me but not impressive. The colors are gray walls, white and blue linens in multiple mixed patterns, carved antique wood dressers and super simple bed frames and side table. It has built in bookshelves full of books and trinkets. It's an attic room with pitched walls and a big sunny south window.

We haven’t “done” our bedroom yet (it’s been 5 years here lol) do it’s kind of a hodgepodge. It’s a slightly tough room due to eaves, windows, and fireplace. There’s no closet but there’s an attached small bedroom (originally a nursery we think) that we converted to a big walk in closet basically). The little hallway leads to the master bath which is in decent shape. Not great pics but bonus dog in there for you,
