I have a niece and 2 nephews, ages 5, 3, and 1. I'm thinking about what to buy them for Christmas. Are those services like Little Passports any good? They have the usual, like Magnatiles, etc, already. Niece has always been a spitfire, and just started kindergarten. Middle nephew is the sweetest kid, likes trucks and dinosaurs. I don't know the youngest nephew too well yet, but he's chill, as you might expect the third kid to be. They have a family membership at a local children's museum too.
I did some Hanna Anderssen clothes and contributions to their college funds for their birthdays over the summer.
I did a couple of months of Kiwi Crate for DS1 last year and those were a pretty big hit. He enjoyed them a lot. And there were enough projects in each one that we could do one project at a time and spread out the fun.
I also did 3 months of Kiwi Crate for my nieces last Christmas (4 and 2 at the time) and they really enjoyed them. Like PP mentioned, there are quite a few activities in each crate and especially for the 2 year old box, many things could be played with over and over. My sister would save them for a snowy day to give them something special to do.
Last year, one of my kids got Kiwi Crate for 6 mos. They did like 2 of them and now they are just in boxes.
However, the Brickloot boxes have been a HUGE HIT. One got a 3 mo subscription for Christmas and then another 3 for his bday. Then, the other kiddo got a 3 mo subscription for his birthday. They have loved every single box. We even had to visit the store when we were in the Chicago area this summer. Worth every penny for kids who enjoy Legos!
Lilypost is awesome. My aunt/uncle in-law did this for all the great nieces/nephews for Christmas last year. We have an amazing assortment of really good books that we will have for a long time. lillypost.com/
My kids like Little Passports, but it's something I'd just do 3-6mon of. It was something good to pull out on snow days & we like to travel so then we could do some independent research on the places talked about.
My 6yo is ALL IN with Kiwi crates. Obsessed. Personally, I think 6mon is a long subscription time b/c each crate as more than one activity & they require some parental help for him. My older son got Tinker crate & while I think the projects are cool, he's not really into it. He's also the kind of kid that wants to build & experiment himself instead of following instructions so I should have realized this ahead of time.

Has anyone done/tried Bitsbox? My 7 y/o goes to a Scratch and Python class each week and loves it. Debating on whether to get him this subscription for Christmas.
My son likes the atlas and tinker crates from kiwi. Sometimes I pause it if we don’t get to it one month so they don’t pile up. He also loves the literati book box we get.
