The dryer in our new place is broken and I have a ton of dirty clothes. Ack! We do have the option to send it to the wash and fold, it is not cheap but I think I’m going to do it anyway bc I’m already behind in laundry. It’s a neat option that my new community has, you put your laundry in a locker they pick it up, wash, and deliver to locker.
This community is much more fancy than my last one and so much more clean, all for the same price as a comparable unit at my old place. So so happy we moved! (Except our kitchen is 1/4 the size of our old one. Not happy about that. Oh well. I barely like cooking anyway but storage is an issue)
I’m trying to decide to get office work done or moving work done. I’m thinking office work bc that pays, lol.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
DS has soccer (lol) and then my parents are picking him up for the night so we can just organize and start on the nursery. We are going to tapas with friends for dinner after. I am excited to sleep in!
We ordered a big boy bed from pottery barn kids for DS and it’s been 3 weeks (supposed to take 10-15 DAYS not weekdays) and we finally got it delivered. Except they only delivered 1 of 2 boxes so we don’t have the headboard and footboard, just the sides. Box 2/2 should be here sometime next week. Omg. It was supposed to be delivered on the 15th per their site but for some reason it sat with a label waiting in the warehouse since the 13th. It finally got picked up yesterday by purolator.
I have a hair appointment today at 12:30. I should go to the gym this morning, but it’s really cold out and it looks like H is going to make biscuits soooo it might not happen.
I’m so frustrated with my hair. Last appointment we filled in with more highlights and it went really warm and even after going back the next day for some re-toning, I wasn’t in love with it, but I got used to it. We’re going to try just adding highlights onto my new growth to blend grays instead of using a base dye that’s harder to lift. But it just feels like that’s going to take awhile to see how it’s working. I hate when I don’t love my hair. It’s the only thing I spend a good amount of money on, lol.
I've got to take the new dog to PetSmart today to finalize the adoption. Then DD has a volleyball game at 12:30. My mom offered to take us all to lunch after but I may send the rest of the family so I can get some work done. I'm in my Capstone course for my MBA so a big paper each week is due. All while I'm preparing to meet with an attorney Monday afternoon and intensely job hunting. I barely have time to breathe lately.
My bff and her family are coming over. I just have to run to the store, and then I'll be ready. I haven't seen her in a few months, so I'm excited to really catch up.
My parents have a contract on a house! They'll settle sometime in March. It's been fine having them here, but it will be nice to have the whole house back to ourselves.
Congrats on the move, Leeham Rimes! We had a crazy saga of washer/dryer issues when we moved into this house, so I totally get it. That stuff sucks.
DS1 spent the night with MIL last night and I'm dropping DS2 off with her today to stay overnight. DH and I are going out to dinner and then to our alma mater's hockey game. We haven't been to a game in ages, so that should be fun.
I have a full blown cold, so that sucks, but at least I feel better this morning than I did last night. I think with some sudafed I'll feel alright.
pandora89, your post reminded me that I've been thinking off and on about doing a "big boy" room for DS2 for his birthday. I should start pricing that out so we can get together the cash we need for it. I'm thinking we might paint DS1's room for him at the same time. It's crazy to me to think about getting rid of the last crib. I love that we're out of the baby stage, but it's also a little weird.

I have a huge presentation on Monday. I casually mentioned to my mom that I wasn’t sure what to wear and she felt the need to tell me that I dress frumpy and to cover my fat.
So I’ll be trying to find something to wear this weekend.
I slept through the night last night for the first time in a long time and it felt great! Still had to get up somewhat early to go get a pedicure, but I think I’ll survive lol.
We will see the sun tomorrow for the first time in over a week and I’m thrilled!

Today was the only day of the week that I could sleep but I had to go to the bathroom so bad at 5:30. Then DH’s alarm went off for some reason at 6:00. I finally just got up a little after 7:00 but that last hour was not how I wanted to sleep! I’m going to a Pilates/yoga class at 10:15 that kicked my butt last week and then I need to go to Target. It’s supposed to be 70* tomorrow and then we’re supposed to get 3-6” of snow Monday night. Colorado, your weather is drunk.
This might be an UO but I don’t understand paying a lot of money for kids furniture. The big boys room looks like an ikea show room because I didn’t want to spend a lot on stuff they could be rough on.
There is a Torrid near me so I’m going to see the clothes in person to see if I like them better.
Today is my first day of being a Shipt shopper! My first order is a lady sending a care package to a friend whose family member is in the hospital. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

I’m worried I picked up whatever bug DS has/had. I feel like dirt. I got no sleep last night between the nausea and DS waking every hour or so screaming. Does amoxicillin cause mood swings in toddlers?
My mom and dad are going to come over later to watch him so I can rest.

2 bball games down and 2 wins. 1 more to go! When DD got the ball a man standing by us said "Oh no, not a girl" (she is the only girl on her team). DD then promptly made 2 baskets in a row each time with me saying "You go GIRL!" and then looking at him.
Also, my wedding and engagement rings have not fit for awhile, like years, due to weight gain. I just stopped wearing them and have been wearing a silicone band. But last month I went into a local jeweler who does all their work on site to see about getting them sized or something done to them. They had already been sized twice before and the band is too thin, but he gave me a plan where the whole band can basically be redone and it will be a bit thicker which I like anyway. He gave me a quote and we saved up for it, so today I’m bringing them in to get the work done. I’m so excited that in a week I’ll be able to wear my rings again!
DD2 turned 9 earlier this week so yesterday afternoon she had 2 friends over for a sleepover party. Not a lot of sleep for them but they all got along well. We feed them breakfast this morning and they've been picked up.
We have a busy week ahead so today will be some house clean up, laundry and maybe some things for work that need done.
We are having a super bowl party tomorrow. At first DH said it will be about 4 people. Now we are possibly at 11. I have so much to do today to get ready. Also tomorrow, my coworker and I going to see Sarah Maclachlan. It doesn’t start until 8. That’s like my bedtime. Lol! It’s going to be a long day tomorrow.
We saw Gretel and Hansel last night. It was terrible, a true waste of time. Because of when I got off work we had to go to a late showing, so it really feels like we lost an entire weekend night.
DS finally has a friend coming over today for the first time in forever. His best friend lives far enough away that the kids can't just walk/bike to hang out, a parent has to be involved in the transportation. This kid's mom is terrible at returning texts and stuff so it's been months since they've done anything outside of school. There aren't any kids in our immediate neighborhood that DS is really friends with, most are much younger so they don't have fun together. He gets lonely so this will be great.
And we have tickets to a local play tonight! I'm hoping I can talk DH into dinner out before it.

I had to stop wearing my rings a few years ago and was so upset about it. DH pretty much insisted I go get them resized. It was the best feeling ever to have those back and have them fit properly. Enjoy!

It was in my budget and I only wanted to buy furniture only once. Their furniture should last at least until they go to college.

Is this supposed to be directed at me?
Your post just made me think. We all have different things we are willing to spend more money on. No judgement from me, I just don’t get it.

This is a great idea. Your post reminded me that I haven't work my rings since DD2 was born. She turned 9 this week. I should take them in to see if resizng is an option. I did have them made smaller after DD1 was born and I lost the baby weight and some. I should have left them alone.

My concern is that they would be rough enough on the furniture it would not last so why spend $$$ on it .
On the other hand - my kids have furniture from PBK, Land of Nod (RIP 😢) and Room and Board. 7 and 12 year old boys. It all looks like new. The only thing that doesn’t is an IKEA desk in DS2’s room that is already showing a lot of wear after only a year or so. Buying higher quality generally means it will stand up better and last longer. IKEA stuff is great and has a purpose, and we definitely own it - the price point and convenience is a huge factor. but in the end it’s going in a landfill much faster than other stuff.
Worked out today, five days in a row, so i am feeling proud of myself. I am also really, really tired as i have not exercised like this in a really long time.
Will take the girls out for lunch and maybe a little bit of shopping. I keep looking to buy a slip on sneaker kind of like vans, but am not sure on the sizing. I like the Dr. Scholl's brand, but the toe box of the 9 feels best and the length of the 8 1/2 is best. A friend said hers stretched a bit so I might buy the 8 1/2. Anyone here have experience with these shoes??
I made the terrible decision to volunteer to lead a craft for my daughter's Brownie troop. After spending a million years on pinterest, I came up with two possible ideas that 7-8 year old girls could potentially complete in 15 minutes.
I just bought the supplies and tried to make samples, and neither one is going to work.
I am not crafty. I am having the regrets about volunteering.
