My 3 yo dd wanted to message her friend last night to tell him "I love you." I messaged his mom to tell him, and his mom said he said "I love her too." So sweet! Also, she calls him New Cole, and my bff's Cole, who she's known forever, is now Old Cole. Lol.
I'm still coughing. Not sure at what point you give up and go to the doctor? A doctor did listen to my lungs a week ago and had no concerns. But I do think I've become a little more congested since and my chest sometimes hurts with deep breaths or exertion. I feel ok though. So I lean toward not going. I'm OVER this cough though. It's obnoxious and disruptive.
I finally went ahead and got all the income based stuff for my and my H's student loans taken care of. I think we're going to be paying somewhere between $750-800 a month combined on our loans. Ugh. I've been paying $350 a month on mine for almost 12 years already, so I'm used to that, but adding another $400+ to the monthly bill hurts. We can definitely make it work, but I hate it. At least in theory we should both be done in 10 years through PSLF. I'm going to keep printed records of every payment and any info we get about the program in hopes that if they don't straighten out the program in 10 years, we'll have enough proof that we can somehow straighten it out.
Another full day of sitting in a conference room doing document review by committee. At least I've got wifi access now.
It's already gray and damp out, and we're expecting torrential rain later. Hoping to wrap up at work for the day in time to get home on the early side since we've got a school event to go to tonight too.
wildrice, have you been sick for 2 or more weeks? If so, then I would definitely go back to the dr!! Especially if you think you might be getting a little worse?! If you still have a bad cough I would definitely go back.
wildrice there is something really nasty going around this year. My H had a lingering cough and congestion for a month before finally going to the doctor. It had turned into a sinus infection at some point and he is feeling SO much better now that he is on antibiotics. This was his first doctor's visit in like 8 years, so you know it was bad. I hope you are feeling better soon. I think you should probably make another doctor appointment.
There is a weird bug that hit our house. Started with the youngest one. I felt terrible sending my kid to school today. She was miserable but had no fever. It's moving fast and hopefully in a few days we will all feel better. I really hate the cold season.

Yeah, it will be 3 weeks this weekend since I started coughing. It was at first just a dry annoying cough, but has gotten more congested and hoarse sounding since. I haven't felt all that terrible, just run down from sleep interruption more than anything.
Ugh. I just don't want to go and be told there is nothing they can do. I hate going to the doctor for stuff like this, it's so hard to know if it's necessary!
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
I work with a man who is smart, diligent, friendly, and produces high quality work product. He has terrible hygiene. I can see build up on his teeth and he has serious BO. We often work in close quarters. He is married and I don't understand how his wife deals.
We watched the Oscar nominated short documentaries last weekend. Three of the five dealt with rape, at least in an indirect manner. I am so angry about the treatment of women in the world. One of the docs, Life Overtakes Me, is available on Netflix. It focuses on refugee children in Sweden and a condition called Resignation Syndrome. It is heartbreaking but very well done.

I’ve possibly made a new friend while sitting at a bar this week. She was there alone as well. She came for happy hour before having to pick her kid up from daycare. She said her husband thought it was weird she was there alone and I agreed with her that it isn’t, I told her I also enjoy doing things alone including travel and that she should continue to live her best life! We exchanged info and have messaged about hanging out, so hopefully we’ll get together soon.
I have a really weird gag reflex about things. Hair that I'm able to identify doesn't bother me, but hair I can't? Watch out! The girls in my house all have longish blonde or light brown hair and the boys short and dark brown. I pulled a long black hair off of the bottom of my pantleg this morning and put it in my trashcan and it's mocking me. Even thinking about it makes me gag. I finally pulled the trash bag out and put it at the edge of my cube out of sight.
I need to go downstairs to the help desk to have a program put on my computer and I'm ready to cry just thinking about the walk and how much it is going to hurt. Luckily the bathroom in my office is close enough that I'm able to walk there without too much trouble, but the help desk is on the opposite side of the building. Sorry, I know I'm a one trick pony with my knee stuff today.
The pup was at daycare yesterday so I decided to take advantage of their hours and do a few Shipt deliveries. It was pouring rain so I think both of my customers felt guilty and tipped me a lot. It’s kind of odd how much I’m enjoying this. I normally hate grocery shopping, but I love how friendly the fellow Shipt shoppers are (it’s so fun trying to pick them out of a crowd!) and how happy the customers are. Plus I’ve discovered some awesome foods that I’m eager to try!
I signed up to be a founding member of a F45 gym that’s being built close to where I live. They should be opening later this month. I’m getting really nervous about it. I haven’t consistently gone to the gym since October 2018 (and that was only for 2-3 months) and before that, it was sometime in late 2015. I’m really eager to get back into it because I know I’ll feel better, but it’s just so intimidating.
I had jury duty Monday and I completely forgot until last night. I had my huge JUROR summons on the bulletin board, sent all my prescreening in the day I got it, I took the day off work, and somehow it slipped my mind. I was in sheer panic all night. I called this morning and they could not have been nicer. If I had done what I was supposed to do, I would have found out the night before that I hadn't been selected and didn't need to come anyway.
Still, I feel like a terrible citizen and I am even more concerned about my mental state.

I started my day off with a 5 am OTF workout that consisted of a 2000m row where I hit a PR. My fitness and overall health have improved SO much over the last year. I saw a picture of myself from last year, and OMG the bags, wrinkles, and circles under my eyes were horrendous. But...they're noticeably better now, and I'm a whole year older. The diet and mentality changes worked wonders for me (I realize this is not true for everyone - I just happened to find a lifestyle change that helped me).
I was on a video call a little while ago and my dog started whining so I put him on my lap. He immediately popped up into the camera view and my coworker squealed in delight. LOL. He was very confused to see a stranger waving at him and saying hi on the laptop.
H and I have been stressing a lot lately, so last night we watched two episodes of the new Netflix series about kitten rescue. OMG I love it. We went to bed thinking: aww, kittehs, instead of about sick me, sick MIL, and our crappy president.

I just found out a colleague apparently expected me to do something on a different timeline than I was originally told (it's a monthly task), but never bothered to mention it. I'm not a mind reader, dude. It's literally a half hour out of my entire month, if you want on the 5th instead of the 10th I will do that, but you need to say so.
This whole week has been a shitshow, so at this point I'm surprised by nothing.

My MIL is coming to live with us for the next 2 weeks.
Hahahahahaaaaaaa dangling from the end of this rope is so great. Views are phenomenal.
But seriously, she's doing us an incredible favor while my mom (our usual childcare) gets to take a really great 2-week vacation, so I'll live. We're moving our almost-7-year-old onto a posh air mattress in our bedroom so my MIL can have her own bedroom/privacy while she stays with us. That's probably going to be what kills me. GO TO BED, KID.
It's raining, it's pouring, and everything is flooding.
Edit: Oops, hit post too soon. Per our weather station we got over 2 inches of rain yesterday, and it's only 9:30 am and we've already gotten another 0.6 inches today (since midnight). So.much.water.
My H and I have lived together for almost 19 years, and he got a new alarm clock a couple of weeks ago and I hate it. I could sleep through the old one because my brain has always been able to ignore the old school buzzer style alarms, but the new one is this shrill beeping that sends my brain into an awake panic. I haven't been doing as well falling back asleep after he leaves either. Ugh. So tired.

I’m sitting here at the car dealership waiting for my oil change to be completed. This little girl (maybe 3YO) just came up to me and asked where the bathroom is. I asked her where her mommy or daddy was at. She said her daddy is here somewhere. I showed her to the bathroom and asked one of the car salesman if he knew where or who her parents are. Luckily he found her dad, but who on Earth leaves their young child in a huge waiting room alone and then treks to the other end of the building where she is not in his line of sight.
I’m working out of a sister company’s office today for the first time. They have both CNN and Fox News on the break room TVs. At least it’s balanced? So bizarre. I did overhear someone say “Pelosi is mad!” And someone else responded, “we all should be. Democracy died yesterday.”
My kids have been playing PJ Masks in the car on the way to daycare. DS1 is Catboy and DS2 is Gecko. It’s pretty adorable and makes me laugh. Also, they might watch too much PJ Masks because this game is very detailed.
I had a super productive morning and now I've run out of my "fires" to put out. I have plenty of things to do, but I am not motivated at all since putting all my energy into things this morning, lol.
They look like they are having so much fun together!
I know it’s a random collaboration but I’m guessing it happened because Lizzo heard his cover of “Juice” on BBC Live Lounge m.youtube.com/watch?v=uPS1qFK6PAM
We are in the midst of a pretty significant snow storm. The mountain pass we usually drive over to get our kids to and from school is expecting anywhere from 30-48 inches of snow between last night and tomorrow night. I'm glad we finally got moved into our house in town so we don't have to worry about driving over for school or basketball.
Dd is supposed to leave tomorrow morning for an overnight basketball trip, but I will be surprised if they end up going. The route they will take involves I-70 and I heard they are supposed to get just as much snow near Vail as we are. I was hoping ds and I could go over the mountain tomorrow after I take her to the bus so I can do laundry and spend the night with H, but we may not be able to go over until Sunday. If we wait, we won't be able to stay the night since we have school on Monday so we will just have to go home, do laundry, then turn around and come right back.
Had a really good class today. It was race day, so I bought us all matching wrist sweat bands (really, i can see why they were invented; they make complete sense just look dorky. lol). IT was a challenging ride, but everyone seemed to like it.
I can't get over how much Tarek El Moussa's girlfriend looks like Christina. It's crazy.

The first picture I was like "meh" and then the second I thought "I can see it" but by the third, I thought she WAS Christina, so that was kind of crazy. So, he clearly has a type
