styme46, there are always exceptions and it sounds like your district is one of those. But the vast majority of Colorado schools that have moved to this model have done so due to lack of funding. I used to live in Douglas County. If voters hadn’t passed a bond for additional funding (and let me tell you, it barely passed because it’s a red area and fuck taxes) they would have moved to 4 day weeks for the entire district. As you said, since it’s not a community of people with “flexible” schedules, it would have been a true hardship for many families.
The concept certainly works in some areas, but it shouldn’t be used as a model for the majority. I’m glad it’s been good for your family and school.

I agree 100%! It definitely shouldn't be used as a model for the entire state. Most districts in Colorado are not rural ranching communities, as you know, and a 4 day school week would be detrimental. We definitely wouldn't have been able to make it work if we were working normal 8-5 jobs.
Got my workout in today. I’ve got to step stuff up. I don’t understand why I’m not losing *any* weight. I’ve changed my diet, I workout EOD [and a fucking hard workout at that (ETF Fitness)]. Nothing. Not a single, solitary, pound.
I was having this issue. I was doing hardcore bootcamps 5-6 days a week and eating lower carb (which had previously worked). It was super frustrating and almost twilight zone-ish as my weight did not budge after a month of total dedication and tracking. I also loosely follow IF (so no breakfast) but listen to my body if I'm starving. So, I tweaked a few things.
I added more carbs into my diet - but I've been more diligent about tracking actual calories. I also added in more cardio to my workouts. I am back to running 2-3 days a week and added in some HIIT/tabata instead of the weight-lifting heavy bootcamps/WODS every day. I googled your gym and it looks a lot like what I do. I know that my bootcamps have METCONS and AMRAPS but the sustained cardio (running) and really intense tabata (typically 30-60 minutes) has changed everything. I've dropped 5 lbs in 2 weeks.

I’ve been doing it since December (4x a week). Haven’t lost an ounce. I feel that there’s a focus on cardio bc my heart rate is always averaging at about 90% of max. And 30 minutes of the workout is just cardio. (Either rower or bike) at either 80% of max heart rate or 90% with brief period of rest.
I’m 40 now but I’ve had issues with not being able to lose weight since i was 36. It’s frustrating. My body sucks. Lol.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Leeham Rimes have you had your body fat checked? I have a hard time losing weight but I almost always can drop a decent amount of body fat when I’m hardcore working out and dieting. Friends will ask me if I lost weight but not really I’m just looking leaner. And I can definitely tell in my clothes.

As one of the trainers at my gym said, it's not about weighing that much, but looking like you do. i have been working out like crazy and I think I finally lost an inch on my upper thigh. progress! lol
I was asked to be on the early childhood PTA board and the elementary school PTA board. Super excited to use my brain in a non SAHM way and have scheduled kid free time. Plus I really support the committee I’ll be chairing so that’s a bonus

H and I are spending a night at a B and B. My parents are in town to watch the girls. We are about 45 minutes from home. My father kept asking what we were planning on doing. Pretty awkward. We are basically going to have lots of sex dad.
I’m in the Florida Keys now alone with DH. Much better than Cleveland.
This looks amazing! Where is this beach?? I couldn’t find any great beaches in KW but we staying closer to Mallory Square.
We stayed in Marathon a couple of years ago. The place we stayed had a tiny beach, but we were also near Sombrero Beach, which I thought was really nice. We were also near Bahia Honda state park, which we didn’t get a chance to go to, but I heard was really nice for snorkeling.

Done with everything I have to do today so now I’m doing some trip planning for this summer. We’re hitting up 5 national parks in CO and UT plus spending some time in Ouray and Telluride.
Mainly I just would like someone who lives in the desert to either tell me the desert in July isn’t that awful or give me tips on how to make it more bearable lol. I’m concerned about Arches and Canyonlands but being a teacher, I can only really get 12 days off in the summer so we go when we can. I’m not opposed to getting up at like 5 AM to go hiking.

We are going in June and our basic plan is to go at the crack of dawn and bring a ton of water. I think it'll be fine.
My high school essentially had four day weeks. Our days were a little bit longer than other high schools and missing school was rough. That fifth day was spent on campus freshman year, sophmore year we signed up to help in a school or pre-school, junior interned on the hill and senior we picked an internship with an eye towards possible studies in college. It was a really neat experience, especially being on the hill. Realizing how much work it truly takes to create change in this country is astounding and until then, I definitely did not really get that as a kid.

Omg you are going to LOVE Telluride. I absolutely love that town!
So of course right as we were getting settled at the movie theater DS texts and calls us, he landed wrong on the trampoline and has pain when walking. We pick him up, get him home and he has a pretty significant swollen ankle poor kid. And poor me lol, goodbye date night and hello lots of work tomorrow.
I’m at a hotel and cannot sleep. DS and DH are both sound asleep and I’m just tossing and turning. I have my white noise playing. I hate this bed and I know I’m getting sick. Driving home tomorrow is going to be so fun 😫

All Americans would benefit from that experience. I don’t think the majority probably has a single clue the effort required.

I agree and would say that all the time. Also, you see how hard a lot of the members of congress work. One congressman would sleep in his office because he would have three breakfast meetings and a bunch of stuff in the evening. I think if people really knew how much it takes to create real change, they would realize that anything a candidate has on their platform and then makes a reality, is a big deal. Even if it is only one thing.
