I told him it could be worse and I could put a toilet seat on our wall with Trump’s picture in it (this is what my grandpa does - he calls it his wall of shame and puts politicians he doesn’t like on it).
Breaking News...
I think I'm in love with your grandpa.
He is THE BEST. I got a belated Valentine from him today and it’s as batshit crazy as everything else he sends me. I love it.
I sent him Trump toilet paper two years ago and he loved it. He has tons of old ass Republican friends and he basically spends 90% of his waking hours trolling them since all they all do is go visit each other.
Lol, Joe’s campaign is selling this shirt now. I may have to buy it because it’s just hilarious to me. I like random campaign apparel. I bought Pete buttons the other day when he announced he was suspending his campaign.
One thing that's different in WA's all-mail primary ballot is that you are required to choose a party on the exterior of the envelope:
If you have a legible signature, you're announcing to anyone and everyone what your party affiliation is, and I'm not a fan of that.
However, as of last Friday, over 36,000 have been rejected because voters failed to check a box. Democracy in action, hooray.
I wonder if the outer envelope Party Declaration is some random thing that got transitioned from our former-caucus system? That, or our shitty SOS Kim Wyman didn't see fit to remove it, or alter it in a better way.
The only positive is that maybe the Berners will be more likely to not check a box, and their votes won't count.
Just cast my vote and my neighbor was there voting for the very first time (he just became a citizen after almost 20 years in the country). We took his picture outside the place next to the big sign with his “I Voted” sticker. Such a neat thing to witness!

I nominate your grandpa as GBCN's official grandpa.

I think that's exactly what it is. But Kim Wyman still sucks.
Ironically enough: OLYMPIA – Secretary of State Kim Wyman is a known and acknowledged Republican, but said she won’t check a party box on the envelope for her presidential primary ballot. She’ll mark the ballot and send it in, but knows it won’t count and will spoil her perfect voting record.

I have HRC buttons, I have Kamala Harris buttons, I have Warren buttons (she's still in it though!) and I have Pete buttons and I have a Gillibrand tote. I pretend that someday my kids will be interested in old election swag.
I have an embarrassing amount of HRC stuff because I tended to drunk shop her campaign store. I have a Castro shirt (plus some buttons and stickers they accidentally sent us). A Gillibrand tote and coffee mug. For Warren, I have 2 t-shirts, a hoodie, two car magnets, a yard sign, plus my husband and @@@@@@@@@@@ daughter both have t-shirts. Oh and our cats have purr-sist collars. I sent Pete $3 at the beginning. I really liked some of his merch but wound up not liking him enough to buy any. I sent Kamala and Cory money but didn’t like any of their merch. I also bought an anti-Susan Collins shirt from the Maine Democratic Party.

He will adopt everyone! He’s never voted for a Republican in his life and is super proud of it. 🤣 In 2008, he had an election night party because he knew Obama was going to win which pissed off my mom (his daughter) who is sadly a Fox News Republican. He loves getting under her skin.
I early voted and niece just reported in from Dallas that the Democrat voting line was really long in Collin Co (East Dallas) and Warren got 3 votes from the women in my family and 2 more from my BFF and my goddaughter! H and I voted early, but not sure who he voted for, but I suspect Biden. I know he's a Bernie only in case of emergency.
Bernie supporters are going to act just like they did in 2016. There was a Bernie talkie on MSNBC last night and they are so aggressively defensive of any criticism or even discussion of Bernie issues. It's so Trump-worship like. JFC.
I am so curious how Collin County turns out. That’s where I grew up and despite still going Trump, HRC got more votes there than Obama. Demographics and attitudes are changing. I can see the highly educated folks there voting Warren, but I cannot picture Collin County going for Sanders ever.
This is rather chilling: "The party box a Washington voter checks becomes public record for 60 days after the presidential primary."
Party affiliation is public in a lot of places as is voting history (though not who you voted for).
I have been getting more canvasing of late (basically went from 0 to 1-2 per local race). My address, party and past votes are being used by the canvass folks.
Let's just pause for a minute and be grateful that James Comey didn't decide to run for president.
He's a republican, right? I wish he had primaried Trump.
I believe he's unaffiliated since 2016. He was a registered Repub before Trump, but has not been since. Still weird that he is endorsing at all... but I wonder if that means anything to my aunts/uncles who are truly GOP for economy/small business, but don't love Trump. I will have to ask them. There are some relatives of mine who love Trump... so I also have that contingency who don't care if Comey steps away from the GOP. I do know my aunts/uncles who are GOP, but not Trump people are Catholic and having a harder time with each of his lies... so maybe this helps sway them to vote for Biden later? I doubt they'd ever vote for Bernie from where they stand... but they might not vote.
(How do I know this about Comey? I guess I'm in that 12% )
The comments from the normally reserved Brazile came after "America's Newsroom" co-anchor Sandra Smith asked her to respond to McDaniel's earlier remarks that the Democratic presidential race "is leading towards a brokered convention, which will be rigged against Bernie if those superdelegates have their way on that second vote."

I never got any stuff from Kamala's store and am still very sad about it. I was supposed to get a couple of stickers (for free) and those never got sent. And then her store was shut down by the time I went to buy stuff.

In more cute old man news, my dad had a heart procedure today and was supposed to stay overnight at the hospital. He declined and I took him home to rest with my mom. I went to my house and an hour later, my mom texted to say that my dad made her walk him a few blocks so he could vote. Yay voting!
My friend in Nashville said her polling location got moved due to the tornado damage and it took a couple of hours to find a way to get there to vote but she and many of her neighbors made it!

Despite his promised turnout surge, Sanders is getting fewer votes than he did in 2016 A campaign predicated on bringing out more voters hasn’t demonstrated it
If Biden and Bernie are basically even after today the Bros are going to be insufferable to Warren voters. I mean, I get that that is true for any day ending in y but I think I’ll relish it. “Mmmmm, tell me again how she’s staying in the race too long and preventing consolidation.”
