Despite his promised turnout surge, Sanders is getting fewer votes than he did in 2016 A campaign predicated on bringing out more voters hasn’t demonstrated it
If Biden and Bernie are basically even after today the Bros are going to be insufferable to Warren voters. I mean, I get that that is true for any day ending in y but I think I’ll relish it. “Mmmmm, tell me again how she’s staying in the race too long and preventing consolidation.”
The hypocrisy of the Bernie Bros kills me. Lecturing non-Bernie voters about how we still need to show up in the general if Bernie is the candidate and this bullshit about Warren should drop out to consolidate the progressive vote while bitching about Pete and Amy dropping out and consolidating the centrist vote.
There are a LOT of Republicans in my feed with "I voted" stickers. I am getting nervous about Bernie votes in Va.
They were out in full force in SC too, and it didn't seem to do a ton to help Bernie. At this point, I just want to close all primaries to registered Ds!
There are state specific primaries/measures too - Could be that they are still voting R even if they don't have a presidential race to worry about.
ETA - a quick google tells me that may not be the case in Virginia...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, not in Virginia. Just the democratic primary.
I've been perusing my local Next-door and FB sites and quite a few Rs are voting today to put someone up that could beat #45. They've stated that specifically and I believe them because they are pretty vocal in their hate for the orange dude. So maybe that's it?
Voted by mail in CA last week (for Warren), but I’m mostly watching my congressional primary today. I’m in Duncan Hunter’s old district (CA-50) and although I’m fairly confident the D candidate (yay Ammar!) will make it through to November, I’m interested to see by what percentage and which Republican he’ll be up against. Darrell Issa is trying to weasel his way back in down here, plus a couple others who are all trying to out-Trump each other.
I just want the damn Demaio and Issa ads to stop. The attack ads on Issa are hysterical but NB annoying. Ammar has 2 votes at my house.
I early voted and niece just reported in from Dallas that the Democrat voting line was really long in Collin Co (East Dallas) and Warren got 3 votes from the women in my family and 2 more from my BFF and my goddaughter! H and I voted early, but not sure who he voted for, but I suspect Biden. I know he's a Bernie only in case of emergency.
Bernie supporters are going to act just like they did in 2016. There was a Bernie talkie on MSNBC last night and they are so aggressively defensive of any criticism or even discussion of Bernie issues. It's so Trump-worship like. JFC.
I am so curious how Collin County turns out. That’s where I grew up and despite still going Trump, HRC got more votes there than Obama. Demographics and attitudes are changing. I can see the highly educated folks there voting Warren, but I cannot picture Collin County going for Sanders ever.
I voted for Warren and convinced DH to do the same. Warren and Biden seem to be the most popular up here in the suburbs with most of my Dallas people supporting Bernie.
Texas Monthly did a really good article about voting trends in Collin County and how the area is slowly but steadily becoming less of the conservative stronghold it used to be. One of my best friends is a Democratic precinct chair and has been doing a lot of work to get out the vote for today’s primary.

I just voted. I was thisclose to changing my vote to Biden because of Saturday but I switched back to Warren at last minute. My husband voted for Biden.
We are in a tiny tiny NC town that is bright bright red. Everyone running local races as Rs were standing outside asking for our votes but they weren't on our ballot so that was fun to say no thank you.
so per CNN and others 63% of the black vote went to Biden in Virginia. that's big. these are exit polls but everyone seems to be saying that if it was called this early, the numbers must be really good.

Earlier I was thinking what if Warren did drop out and endorse Biden, those people would lose their absolute damn mind.
I have HRC buttons, I have Kamala Harris buttons, I have Warren buttons (she's still in it though!) and I have Pete buttons and I have a Gillibrand tote. I pretend that someday my kids will be interested in old election swag.
I have an embarrassing amount of HRC stuff because I tended to drunk shop her campaign store. I have a Castro shirt (plus some buttons and stickers they accidentally sent us). A Gillibrand tote and coffee mug. For Warren, I have 2 t-shirts, a hoodie, two car magnets, a yard sign, plus my husband and @@@@@@@@@@@ daughter both have t-shirts. Oh and our cats have purr-sist collars. I sent Pete $3 at the beginning. I really liked some of his merch but wound up not liking him enough to buy any. I sent Kamala and Cory money but didn’t like any of their merch. I also bought an anti-Susan Collins shirt from the Maine Democratic Party.
