Ditto the recommendations for the coaster luxe sweatshirt and also the pranayama wrap. Both are fantastic. I also love my farallon joggers (prob could have sized down for those but love them for lounging/working from home).
I tried the Pranayama wrap, and it was really comfortable too, but I felt like even in a petite, it dwarfed my frame and looked funny. Too long, too voluminous. The Nirvana wrap is shorter and better for me.
I also tried the Mindset sweatshirt and it was soooo comfortable. But the curved hem in front made me self conscious about my post-kids belly, so I returned it. That might have been a wrong decision.
I also have some old Drifter tights, and a bunch of 2-in-1 running shorts that I would count as best purchases, although the specific ones are no longer available.
Pranayama wrap cardigan! I also love their leggings and sports bras. I’m lusting after a pair of pants but they are SO expensive and it’s not pants weather here yet, so maybe I’ll treat myself for my birthday next month.
I also got a vest last year that is probably one of my favorite jackets I’ve ever bought. I see they don’t have it anymore, but I think they’ll have more outerwear options in the next few weeks. In general, I really like their jackets.

The coaster luxe sweatshirt, and I live in my farallon joggers. I wear them with a nice top and blazer for work video calls and tees and denim jacket on the weekends.

Everyone is giving you great advice! My go-to gift for people is the Pranayama wrap. I also agree with the Coaster Luxe and Elation 7/8ths tights. Farralons are awesome too. I like Mindset sweatshirts (brushed and soft) and Sundown sweatshirts (more broken in and easy), Renew racerback tanks (really flattering and can be for workout or dress wear), and Uptempo (shirt or hoodie) - softest thing ever.
As for cold weather running, Rainier tights are brushed inside so cozier than regular workout tights. Momentum is a nice base layer, or the Forresthill turtleneck if you like wool.

Do you mind sharing your body type? I like how these look but afraid these might make my (already huge) hips look bigger.
I love their ultra high rise elation 7/8 tights. I have a few of those and wear them all the time. I also like salutation stash 7/8 pocket tights. My favorite thing I have from athleta is actually a totally fluffy sherpa hoodie zip up. I LOVE that thing. LOVE.
But part of me is like...just get the real stuff so you don't regret it and throw more clothes in a landfill in 6 months.
I have been wearing athleta workout leggings for a while - some I have had for years and they still look new. I don't put them in the dryer and I think that helps but they are a really high quality. Athleta is also a b-corp and that also makes me feel good about the price. I am super picky and prefer to spend more on higher quality items that last. ALSO I think you said recently you are down to your pre-kids size so you should threat yo self and get the good shit!

You're right. I am back to my pre-kids size (although it's a very different shape lol). I have been trying to buy higher quality stuff less often so I may go for it. I am just so tired of Old Navy shit that stretches and gets thrown out in 6 months. I also hang dry my clothes so they should last for years. It's all in my cart just waiting for a moment of weakness. This might be it.

I am devote to Athleta. And same as you, I try to buy cheaper stuff and end up not loving it.
Sometimes I can get away with tops. But pants I now refuse to buy anywhere but Athleta. I am always always always disappointed.
The way I justify it is I use all of this stuff for years. The workout gear never goes bad. It is all classic and non-trendy. Or at least the stuff I buy.
And let's be honest, especially during these times I am wearing my athleisure WAY more than I am wearing nice clothing. I already lived in it pre-covid. Now, I wear tights every single day I am home even on work days. Plus I also workout each day.
How does stuff run? Large vanity sizes like Gap? Or more true to size?
ETA: Specifically the Pranayama wrap and Coaster Luxe Sweatshirt
The wrap runs very big. The sweatshirts are TTS.
Athleta is very worth it to me because nearly everything is offered in petite sizes. I’m 5’1 with short legs. I can’t do the Target dupes because they just don’t fit. Instead I use my Discover rewards for Athleta since it works out to a 20% discount.
