NY expanded access today to ages 50+ (was previously 60+). I'm 39, so I still have a while to go.
I have major vaccine FOMO. My MIL and FIL are fully vax'ed (by age), my dad is between doses (age), my brother and SIL are fully vax'ed (job related), MH is between doses (job related)... I am literally the only adult in my family who can't get vax'ed at this point. The fact that Cuomo won't commit to a timeline for future groups is the hardest part for me mentally. In theory I know it has to be coming, but he won't even commit to 5/1 for all adults.
It is interesting how much circles vary. I can't think of anyone that I actually regularly speak with who isn't planning to get the vaccine. Many people have already been vaccinated or have at least had their first shot. Of those few who haven't been eligible yet, I know they are planning on it. Thankfully it sounds like all of my local friends and the coworkers that I interact with the most are all either vaccinated or planning on it, so I am hopeful I can start doing some social interaction again soon.
I'm just curious because this board always seems to be way different than my real life LOL
Most of my family is not getting vaccinated, and only one of my good friends is. I.....don't understand.
Like, they’re not getting it ever? That’s crazy. Of all my family and friends who are eligible, I only know one person who hasn’t scheduled yet. She will, she’s just procrastinating for some reason. But I’ve already decided that I won’t be seeing her until we’re both fully vaccinated. That would suck if almost everyone I knew wasn’t getting it.
I'm in between my first and second dose, second dose is in April. I got lucky with a pharmacy having an extra shot at the end of the day. This board is also different than my real life. I have several upper middle class family members and friends that won't be getting the vaccine for a long time (due to concerns that the trials haven't lasted long enough yet to have more concrete data) or not at all due to being concerned about vaccinations generally. I mention the income part as any of my friends that are more solidly middle class seem to plan on getting it, and it's interesting to me if income level somehow plays a part in the thought process or if my friends are just quite varied in their approach to their health and lives in general. My friends and family that aren't getting it run the gamult in profession as well - nurses, lawyers, real estate agents, business/marketing - professions that aren't staying home to work either.
I also don't know anyone who hasn't already been vaccinated or does not plan to be vaccinated. All of our friends, family and coworkers snatched up spots when the opportunity presented itself.

Never ever. My Dad is a Trumper, and even though he is over 65 and a Cancer survivor, he's not getting one. It's so frustrating. Out of my entire family, only my Mom/Step-Dad and my oldest son are getting it. Even my SIL who works at an Urgent Care and sees Covid patients every day is not getting it.

Right now I'm slated to be eligible May 1 when our state opens it up to everyone. Hoping that will happen sooner but we'll see. I'm one of the last of my close group of friends to be eligible. I personally don't really know any relatives or friends (beyond a few Facebook acquaintances from high school) who are not getting it. Even my hardcore Trump MIL/FIL are getting it or got it.
I, my husband and my dad have all had our first dose. My husband shouldn’t be eligible yet here but he signed up for the waiting list (truthfully answering the screener) and they texted him over the weekend for an appointment on Monday. Still not sure why they contacted him but he took it!
It was at the worst mass site so we wondered if they had a lot of cancellations. He had 10 minutes to respond to the text and there was only one time slot available on one day.
We all ended up getting Pfizer (here you don’t know which it will be until you arrive at the mass site) and even though we got it a week apart, we have back to back second dose appointments.
My mom, step-dad, and in laws are all fully vaccinated. DH has had his first dose. Many friends are either fully vaccinated or are planning on signing up when it’s their turn. I actually don’t know anyone not planning on getting the vaccine which shocks me because one, Texas, and two, half the people getting vaccinated never took Covid seriously.

Woo!
We did a baked good exchange the other day with a friend who is a professor at a local college and asked if he got vaxed yet and he didn’t know he was eligible since he is mainly remote now. You’d think the school would have told him! Now he’s on it.
Most people we know have had one shot, a few are still trying but I don’t know anyone who is not planning on getting it ASAP.

Just got my first today. I don’t know too many friends vaccinated but maybe they’re not saying anything. Technically according to state guidelines I don’t qualify yet but the mayor of my county opened it up to 40 and up on Monday (announced last week). I was INCREDIBLY lucky and got two spots, one for me and one for h bc 7,000 spots were taken up in 13 minutes.
Florida is not run well at thanks to our Trump loving governor, refusing to lower ages officially for everyone (even though lack of lines and demand has been reported)
Anyway, I’m a happy girl today. Not that much will change for us until the kids can get vaccinated and I’m never not wearing a mask (love masks) but just the relief that I won’t die from this, or need a lung transplant is a nice feeling.

My husband is fully vaccinated and I am waiting for eligibility in my state. While I know a lot of people who are fully vaccinated, I also know a lot of people who don't plan to get vaccinated.
I also don't know anyone who hasn't already been vaccinated or does not plan to be vaccinated. All of our friends, family and coworkers snatched up spots when the opportunity presented itself.
I’m so happy for you!! I know it was a cluster for a bit.
My attitude has improved 95% since I got that first shot lololol. Letting go of my grievances!
I get the first dose tomorrow. I havent planned on taking any time off work tomorrow after the shot or the rest of the week, so heres hoping i dont get hit with terrible side effects.
Edit: husband is in Healthcare and was among the first in our state to be fully vaxed. My parents are going for their second shot today. I'm so excited to finally feel more comfortable, even if we're not ready to go back to "normal"
I just got my second Pfizer shot today. My parents are both fully vaccinated and my husband got his first shot yesterday. The rest of my extended family is still waiting to become eligible.

Was fully vaccinated early February with Moderna. Work in healthcare.
My DH is half vaccinated and will be done 4/10 with Moderna. He qualified because of our sons asthma.
@@our son is 16 and had his first Friday and second in a few weeks, Phizer. He qualified because of asthma.
No clue when our 14 year old will be elgible and she doesn't have a medical condition.
Our state is just opening up to non medical issues but the asthma got us in a little sooner for DH and a lot sooner for DS and my job really helped me get it fast
All the parents are fully vaccinated so we’re thrilled about that.
I just became eligible and my first dose (Pfizer) is scheduled next Wednesday. Can’t wait to rejoin the land of the living, with a mask of course. I’m going to get a haircut, pedicure, dental cleaning, and eye checkup. All such normal things but nothing I’ve felt safe doing for quite some time. My husband still isn’t eligible but hopefully soon.
Apparently in Texas all adults are eligible on Monday, so both me and H will be signing up for it ASAP when we're able.
eta: I don't know anyone who is choosing to not getting vaccinated. Granted, I have a very small friend group but all are already vaccinated for various reasons. Even my H's Trumper family are all getting vaccinated. So.. IDK.
