@sameoldstory , I don't know where you live but I can say that left over Easter stuff is extremely sparse in our area. I am not sure what happened this year but Easter was sold out a day before the holiday. I think lots of people celebrated or something. I went to Target Saturday night and I could not even find a bunny or a reese's egg. Everyone on FB had similar issues. lol
I found this too. I was able to get some things at Walgreens on Thursday night, but my grocery orders at 2 different stores in the week previous were completely sold out of the good stuff. They may have had generic goodies but I am very specific about my Cadbury chocolates and Starburst jelly beans.
We went away last week and the previous week I had placed an Easter basket items order at Target, but didn’t get a chance to pick it up before we left. This left me scrambling on Saturday night. I went to 3 different stores and got the last bag of Easter M&Ms at Target, went to Walgreens and found 1 of 2 bags of jelly beans, and the last package of plastic eggs, and went to my local grocery store which had nothing but empty display boxes. I don’t think the kids really noticed, but their Easter baskets were pretty sad looking this year.
I'm trying to fill out the online forms to prequalify for a mortgage so I can actually start looking for a house. I've been renting since I got divorced and moved out in October, and with the way the timelines are going, I may already be too late. Anyway, if this "paperwork" is any indication of my ability to own a house and be an independent person, I should stop myself right now. OMG. I needed someone to actually go over this with me and I naively assumed that "prequalify" meant simple and basic info. You can't look at houses with a realtor unless you have been prequalified at this time. I do not actually know if my 403b is an asset and how much over I should put down just in case....blah!
My kids both maybe believe in the Easter bunny which is ridiculous because they are 12 and almost 11, BUT they did Easter with XH and DD has been moody over texts and calls since yesterday. I'm guessing it wasn't as creative and magical as I have always made it. I will do baskets for them, but I celebrate Orthodox Easter and it's in May. I am ready for the "magic" to be over, but I hope he didn't do a crappy job. I am getting better and better at just letting him do things his way and staying out of it.
My shoulder has been killing me the last few days. This really sucks. It is approaching 5 months of being in pain. Sometimes I feel like PT is working and other times I feel like it is not. It is certainly bothering me more the last few days than it has in a long time.
I'm sorry. I mentioned awhile back that I just started PT for basically the same thing. I don't know if your PT said this but mine made a point to tell me that the recovery isn't expected to be linear. Which was good to know up front b/c yeah, some days I'm better and then some days, ugh. Mine started around when yours did too (late Oct) so I am 100% with you on being tired of it.

Yeah, they have said that. It is just really hard some days. Today I am getting pain up from my shoulder to my jaw. Its just so frustrating. I was thinking of making an appointment with ortho again, but PT didn't seem to think it would be beneficial (not that I have to listen to them). But their thought was basically like I don't want surgery and the MRI will show something and knowing won't really help and may be a mental barrier to improvement?
ETA: I am sorry you are still suffering too. It is the worst.
karinothing, that sounds really bad. I have not gone back to ortho, but that's b/c I am improving. Given your description I would absolutely go back. Although my PT said something similar, that if you do an MRI then you may find something, but who knows if that's the cause or if it was always there. And that you don't want surgery. And i don't want surgery, but I also don't want to be in pain. It's okay for you to go back to the ortho to get more info and advice.

Thanks. It is tough because sometimes I feel like I am improving. I mean the intense searing pain is better. But I feel like now I have pain in other spots. Then now it really hurts when I sleep at night. For example, in the morning I have to hold my shoulder and slowly extend my arm otherwise it hurts. AND this is going to feel dumb, but I feel like I failed my physical therapist lol. But you are right, I think I should go back to the ortho.
karinothing, pain while sleeping is what eventually drove me to PT even though I wasn't fully vaxxed yet. I had been trying to hold off but when it started interfering every night w/ my sleep, that was the end of the rope for me. Admittedly, this whole year my rope has been so short. It's not even a rope anymore, lol.
Our local supermarket didn’t even have any Cadbury anything left 3 weeks ago! It was weird. It was just store brand jelly beans and a couple Reese’s products left.
This has been happening with Christmas for a couple of years now. It's like you have to start shopping months before the actual holiday just so stores don't have extra inventory to clear afterward? IDK but it's irritating to have Easter stuff when I'm looking for Christmas lights and now it's time for summer but I won't be able to find a swimsuit in July.
It’s strange. I thought maybe it was pandemic related but maybe not!
I might need to mortgage my house for a wedding I'm in this summer.
$320 for the dress, $180 for hair and makeup and now they want $250 towards throwing a shower. Plus we'll need 2 nights in a hotel and my dress needs major alterations.
Jeezus.
This is outrageous!
I’ve only been in two weddings and both were local and expectations were low key. My only expense was my dress.
I would say zelle is a little different and more direct than venmo.
With zelle (at least in my experience) you access it directly from your bank account and the money automatically comes out and automatically goes directly to the other person's bank account. I think now there might be a zelle app, but I've never used it and use the direct banking way.
The reason I prefer it is because I've heard some horror stories about cash app specifically, but I'm sure could theoretically happen with Venmo. I've had people who were collecting money for fundraising through cash app and then cash app claimed that they were violating the terms (I guess because they got a large-ish amount of money in a short period of time, I think a couple thousand) so then cash app put a hold on the money and took it, since the money was just sitting in the app and not in someone's bank account yet.
I'm not a bank expert, but since zelle is directly in my banking app (USAA) I feel a little bit more protected and like that the money instantaneously ends up where it's going (my partner and I use it sometimes to transfer between our individual accounts for paying bills).

Ha ha. I totally agree. I am really glad you are improving though!

I think I have mentioned before about my great nephew who is not even 3 yrs old and weighs 60 pounds. My niece took him to the zoo today and they did not believe his age and denied her the child price. I shouldn't laugh but I am.
Is he also really tall!? I’m trying to picture this kid.
A friend of mine from middle school is over six feet tall. Her husband is over seven feet tall. Both her kids are like this. Just absolute giants (in height) and make my kids look teeny tiny. They have two Great Danes and those dogs look like small labs in their family photos. Lol
I ordered way too much Sushi for lunch today. Actually, I started with Fried Pork Dumplings and then for some reason ordered a combo meal which included 9 pieces of Nigiri which were gigantic and it also came with a Rainbow Roll, also gigantic. I couldn't even come close to finishing it. Do you think it will be okay to save until tomorrow? Or should I toss it, because, you know, raw fish.
wanderingback thank you! I'm also a USAA member so maybe that's where I have seen it mentioned. Also I will check that out in the app; I was thinking I needed a whole new app (zelle) and account but I'll start in the USAA app; glad you mentioned that.
ETA whoa that's super easy to set up thru the USAA app. wanderingback for the win.

I just ate leftover Sushi from Friday for lunch today. Still alive.
I usually try to finish leftover sushi the next day, but it didn't happen for various reasons this time. 3rd day is probably my absolute limit.
My wrist has been doing this weird, semi-painful popping thing since Saturday, and it's very annoying. But I also think the popping might actually be coming from my thumb, and traveling down into my wrist, so I've been trying to ignore it and just be more careful with my movements. I have my surgical follow-up on Wednesday to get out of my splint and start OT, so hopefully it will stop soon.
We found out this weekend that my SIL's MIL* has pancreatic cancer that has spread, and they told my BIL that there isn't anything they can do. She was having short term memory issues and so she went in for that, and I guess they've told her she has cancer, but she can't remember being told. It's awful.
*This is weird phrasing, she is my husband's sister's MIL. But since we all live in the same area she was always at holidays at my SILs, and she came to our wedding. So I've known her for over 20 years.
So the wedding dress that looks amazing on me is ruching... which seems very 2010s? Is it too out of date? I can make any changes I want as its custom made (and cheaper than the not custom made!) I just can't find any dresses with ruching that are from 2020s.
I was considering a belt with a bow on the back side with is long enough to make up part if the train.

You can call the bank and they will help you. They can also prequalify you quickly in a pinch without all the supporting documents uploaded if you find a person at a bank who wants your business enough (brought to you by a person who has been house hunting with no luck for a few months now, found a DREAM house way over our current budget on a Friday, saw it on a Saturday and had our realtor recommend a different bank and specific mortgage loan officer who got us prequalified with just proof of dh's salary within an hour so we could put in an offer immediately (we did upload all the other documents the next day). We still didn't get the house, but I had no idea a bank would work with us so much (on a saturday no less!) to get us the prequalification to put in the offer.
kooshball that dress is pretty. I think it is fairly classic? Though the last time I seriously paid any attention to wedding style was when I got married in 2009, so perhaps my understanding of style is skewed. Ultimately I think you should wear what you love and feel good in. Unless you're planning on being in a bridal magazine, I don't think it matters all that much if what you are wearing is "in".
icedcoffee that is insane. Is this a cousin or something? Your poor mom, I hope she does NOT contribute to the stupid shower restaurant fund, and I honestly don't think you should either. The bride isn't supposed to dictate what people do for her shower! If she wants to have it at a fancy expensive place, she should just pay for it herself since she's already breaking etiquette rules anyway.
I also think you can say no to hair and makeup or find your own alternative. I haven't been in a wedding since 2012 but I can't imagine prices have gone up THAT much. I don't think I paid that much for hair and makeup for either of my own weddings, as the bride!
wildrice. Yes it’s a cousin. It’s all so crazy. I don’t know how it will play out. For various reasons her mom is not involved in the planning so I understand someone else will have to pay, but let the host decide how expensive an event it is! FFS
The hair and makeup is actually not totally unreasonable for the area. We paid about the same for my wedding (a little less). The difference is I did not require it and I also paid for everyone’s hair (makeup was on them if they chose to do it which most did).
Ever since my kid got out of the hot tub last night her nose has been on/off stuffy. I’m really trying to not freak out since she has no other symptoms and feels fine.
But is it from the hot tub, the pollen, Covid? I don’t know!!
The phone plan is supposed to be in my name but for the last 4 months ATT has continued to send me multiple emails, letters & phone calls each month with moms name on them. Despite calling numerous times to fix it and being promised “this time it’s done” it is still happening multiple times a month. Today they said it’s because I haven’t brought a death certificate but that they couldn’t guarantee that would stop it since she opened the account.
So I finally told my stepmom and sister (on the family plan) that I couldn’t handle it anymore and did they want to take over. Of course they didn’t so now I’m looking for a new cell plan.
I think I have mentioned before about my great nephew who is not even 3 yrs old and weighs 60 pounds. My niece took him to the zoo today and they did not believe his age and denied her the child price. I shouldn't laugh but I am.

Yes he is super tall. Like wears size 7 pants. It is so crazy. If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will cover the kids faces up and show you him next to his cousins.
I wore a dress without tights for the first time in months and forgot to wear skimmies so I've been dealing with chub rub all day.
H and I have embraced middle age and put up a bunch of bird feeders. We finally had our first visitor yesterday but as soon as I left for work this morning 3 types of birds showed up. I'm tempted by the bird buddy camera I've seen on Facebook.
