fernweh and fivechickens- Was the 2nd shot that hurt in the same arm or the other arm? I had to get mine in the same arm and it was incredibly painful. I yelped in pain and almost blacked out.

I have made a friend at work recently because we have really similar interests. This morning we went to the big farmer's market to buy veggie plants. Then we went to the asian market nearby.
I bought way too much random stuff. I have a rave already though. Coffee kitkats!! They have a latte on the front. I was just guessing on flavors based on the pictures. These are so good!

I got both mine in the same arm. The first one I barely felt.

You guys are convincing me to get my second shot in the other arm. Thanks!
It’s fucking snowing. I am so over the snow. I need sun in my life right now. It’s the only thing that can really perk me up.
On the plus side though, I finished the work I needed to do! It’s a little half assed, but that’s a next week problem. Meal planning is done and my list of errands is made, so I’m going to go get dressed and get some shit done.
I just submitted my LAST employer certification form for PSLF and am waiting for that to be "approved" and I guess the next step is to apply for loan balance forgiveness- my balance is still $140K so it will be a breath of fresh air (though I have been payment free for the last 13 months because of COVID relief bills).
Tagging karinothing because she successfully was able to have hers forgiven and probably knows how exciting I am feeling right now!
I kicked off my weekend being annoyed with DH. At 6:30 this morning, he came into our room, opened the blinds, and woke me up to show me a house that came on the market last night. I feel eh about it, but he had already contacted our realtor and set up a showing for 10:00. So now, instead of the relaxing day I had planned, I need to get myself and the kids dressed and drive 30 minutes to see a house I don’t even really like.
You will lol at this post if that house for some reason happens to be 'the one' and you end up buying it!
We are currently in the 'waiting to hear if our offer was accepted on our house' mode, so I'm happy for any distraction, especially house related ones, so post a link so we can look at what you're looking at if you feel comfortable doing so!

Same. I told a few friends and pretty much all of them didn’t want to get it in the other arm because it would be their dominant arm. I’m not going to try to change their minds. I was wondering what you’d done for my own anecdote library. lol

I think the pain sometimes has to do with who's giving it it. My sister's first shot was Incredibly painful and hurt for days. The 2nd she didn't feel at all.

Ha! That would have been funny!
We learned when we got there that it was a flip. It had some good qualities, like refinished hardwood floors and a nice deck/backyard, but it wasn’t the one. The walls were textured and I told DH it felt like we were at The Olive Garden.
bugmeetsworld sorry the house didn’t work out! We are also in MA and house hunting. I’m so torn on split levels! I hate that you lose the basement (we need storage!) but like that they often facilitate an in-law moving in ...
Also I think in general a split level is slightly less desirable than other homes to the general buyer which means they have the potential to actually sit a bit. In this market though even split levels are being snapped up immediately.

It was snowing here yesterday and I almost lost it.
The “gift” was a self care weekend that involves me having to complete about 45 self care tasks in order to unlock another gift using these millions of tiny keys and only one unlocks the box the gift is in. But I kind of don’t feel relaxed or like relaxing and they’re annoying as fuck about not knowing what to do with the baby so they’re doing his stuff but asking me a million questions which means I am not actually resting or turned off and can’t relax. And J bit my nipple and sliced the whole thing open so I have to pump on one side and bottle feed while it is healing which means pump parts and bottles to wash (when we don’t usually do those things) so I feel like I’m nagging asking for help cleaning that stuff and spending 3x as usual on feeding which somehow falls to me and would normally he mostly fine except I’m supposed to be relaxing or whatever but don’t have time to relax because I have a billion things to do that aren’t getting done while my wife is with the baby. It all sounds so petty as I’m typing it out but it just sent me over the edge. And all the pent up stuff that doesn’t get done this weekend will become my problem this coming week because I’m on parental leave and my wife is back at work. It is the opposite of relaxing.
I have my first vaccine tomorrow afternoon. I am glad I got an appointment but also feel apprehensive. I don’t like needles and after the flu shot the last couple years my arm hurt for days.
I laid a shameless guilt trip on XH to share this weekend with me because by Wednesday of this past week I was DONE. Luckily he agreed it’s not optimal to go 2 weeks without seeing his kids. Last night we had a nice family Shabbat dinner, this morning a fun breakfast at home and then haircut and park trip, and now they’re with Daddy and I got a pedicure. Hoping to go to a new-ish brewery with BF after to show off my toes.
Expecting that bf will probably become FI in June. I think he wants me to meet his mom in person and we’re planning a trip then for a family wedding. She has been asking him what style ring I want because her parents were jewelers and left some diamonds to be used for this purpose 😱 I have no effing clue. Help. I didn’t have a diamond the first go round.
My temple celebrates Songkran (SE Asian New Year) tomorrow. Most of the community is vaccinated and it will be the 1st such celebration in a year. Since i am not yet fully vaxxed, I stopped by this morning to make an offering and see the preparations, which are quite elaborate. I got really choked up, pulling into the drive and seeing the decorations and the monks working so hard to make this re-opening and New Year special for the community. Just knowing that is happening tomorrow and that myself and others are so close to being able to go there again soon is very emotional.

Liking this for getting your vaccine. You will be so relieved once it's over. Mine hurt no worse than usual flu shots after.
I attended a friend's wedding virtually today and another friend of ours has her mother's funeral today. I am a teary mess. The wedding was so lovely and I'm so happy my friend found her person.
I slept in, it's supposed to be 79 degrees out today, and I've convinced my H that we should go out to a food truck this afternoon that I've wanted to try for like, 2 years. I'll just have to reign myself in, because I want to try one of everything, and that's not reasonable.
Yesterday I made the choice to see if my wrist could handle a 10 minute light weights arm work out, and it did great (I did 1 lb instead of 2 lbs, and I didn't double up to 4 lbs at the switch). I think this also helped reduce the soreness in my vaccine arm, because today my arm pain is almost gone, but my H is still really sore.

😫
I haven’t got my second one yet (get it Monday). I was planning on getting it in the same arm maybe I will rethink that.
H swears up and down that his shot (we each have our first) didn't hurt a bit going in (but his arm hurt after a little). Mine REALLY HURT going in- it felt like an icicle was being stabbed into my arm and I'm sure I grimaced, because I was not expecting it! Maybe she didn't warm mine up enough? Who knows- I lived.
I'm definitely switching sides this time, in the hopes that I can either get a matched set of collarbone lymph nodes- or at least(hopefully) not piss off leftie any more.

Mine felt the same- stabbing murder icicle. Another friend said she overheard her nurse say they were out of the smaller needles and were using a larger one. A bunch of my other friends said they didn't feel theirs at all.

Amazing! I heard the approval process can take up to 6 months so be patient. I think mine was 4 or 5 I dont recall..

My first shot didn’t hurt at all but my second one definitely pinched. No idea why other than the change in needle size that was mentioned
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

I was so excited and carefree for the first shot. I'm going to have a questionnaire for THEM this time around. LOL

Your H got his second shot? I thought you said it hurt.
My closet fell off the wall a few weeks ago. I’m still putting everything back together. I have so many clothes that I do not wear. Obviously, the last year has blurred my perspective on what I need vs what I’m actually wearing these days. It has also made me acutely aware that I have gained some weight. I really need to accept that there is no article of clothing that will magically shave 20 lbs off of my body, and get back in to riding my bike, and maybe eat fewer carbs...maybe.
