I kicked off my weekend being annoyed with DH. At 6:30 this morning, he came into our room, opened the blinds, and woke me up to show me a house that came on the market last night. I feel eh about it, but he had already contacted our realtor and set up a showing for 10:00. So now, instead of the relaxing day I had planned, I need to get myself and the kids dressed and drive 30 minutes to see a house I don’t even really like.
I got my second vaccine yesterday and maybe I was imagining it but the injection hurt 100 times worse then the first one. 19 hours post injection and no side effects other then a mildly sore arm.
I fell down the stairs last night (slipped wearing soft socks). I went down the whole length. Thankfully I’m mostly just bruised (badly), broke a spindle with my foot. I’m ordering anti slip treads.
Also my brother has covid. Thank god my mom got 1 moderna shot 2 weeks ago (they live together).
Hoping for good things ahead the rest of the weekend.
It's "junk days" weekend in my town, which is my favorite thing ever. People put out things they don't want anymore or just plain garbage on the curb. For the entire weekend, people drive around in pick-up trucks and grab what they want, and then whatever is left over, the borough picks it all up and trashes it the following week. I love watching people scrambling out of their cars to get stuff, lol. I also love purging my own stuff. I need to go through DS's toys especially.
My H is in a golf tournament all day so it is just me and DS. I am going to workout, and then I think we are going to lunch with a friend, and then I'll start going through looking for stuff to put out. Exciting day here lol.

OMG!! We had this in my town growing up. It was called "bulk trash day" My dad and I loved it. It was my mother's least favorite day of the year. This was the 80s so my very young self would just roam the streets - my biggest score was one of those giant carnival stuffed animals. My mom was not a fan.

My daughter Lucy, who will turn 13 in just over a month, asked me to take her to the UPenn Museum today! I'm so excited, of course I booked the tickets right away. Her riding lesson for today is cancelled, and she was disappointed, so she came up with something else to do.
GUYS. My almost teen wants to hang out with ME! Doing ARTSY THINGS! She's in virtual school and it's just the two of us home every day. I know I'd be sick of me, haha. IT'S A MIRACLE!
I have work that I didn’t finish yesterday that I have to get wrapped up before Monday. I am determined to get it done this morning so it doesn’t linger over my whole weekend.
I am going to reward myself when it’s done by running some errands alone and going to the Apple store to get a watch.
After looking for months, my mom found a camper van. I went and looked at it for her yesterday and will probably need to finalize the transaction this weekend. And DH and I have a baby gift to drop off for one of his best friends on Sunday, so that’s on the agenda as well.
I am feeling pretty low energy today so far. I don't have any plans this weekend, but I am hoping to get some things done like finally putting together the bed frame that was delivered a few weeks ago and finishing cleaning up the yard. My raised bed should be delivered today so i may also set that up. However, right now i just feel like sitting. Hopefully the coffee I am drinking will help!
I'm debating suggesting we go out for lunch, too, but we already got takeout twice this week so I'm not sure we really need to spend more/eat more unhealthy food.

I got a jury summons yesterday. I’ve never gotten one before! I’ll be surprised if I have to do anything besides call the line and be dismissed. But, it could be a nice break from work if they need me to come in, lol.

Civic duty high fives!
I just got one, and had it in my bag to call and postpone it to our 2 week break or next semester (all in a few more weeks). Well, I kept forgetting & finally looked at it - jury duty was this week. OOPS! So I need to call and see about fixing this. Since it’s a call the night before and don’t come down thing, they may not have needed me.
wildrice, your post about lunch reminded me that I had a dream last night that I picked up take out and when I got home I discovered that I had ordered myself a salad. I was very wtf about the whole thing. Lol

I found a centipede in the house in the kids’ playroom the other day. I didn’t even know we had those here. So the bug guy is coming to spray today.
H gutted the kids’ bathroom a couple of weeks ago and it’s been slow moving since he started his new job but I think he’s going to work on it this weekend.
We got the couch cleaned through the protection plan we bought for it and it looks brand new. I’m so excited. Lol

My weekend started out sucky because my wife surprised me with a “gift” that is really just more work for me and I got annoyed. They’re literally the nicest person in the world so now I feel like a jerk.
It’s raining here which sucks but I’m on leave and my baby is adorable and fun and my parents came to hang out with him on Thursday/Friday so that was fun too! They’re both vaccinated and it was the first time my dad has seen J since the week he was born. It was special. Today we have no real plans, although I think I’m going to finish shaving my legs for spring and do some Target/Old Navy/Carter’s returns. Online shopping is so annoying, especially for me since I’m like 5 sizes bigger than I was last time I shopped for myself and have no idea what will fit and look good.
I'm trying to wrap my head around both the kids being in school four days instead of two days starting this coming week, AND having an overnight work trip with the added complication of DH already being OOT so my mom is watching kids for me. This used to be utterly routine for us, and now I can't even figure out what needs to be on the grocery list, let alone all of the things I need to tell my mom about the kids' routine, school times, dog care, etc. I don't wanna go back to real life!
On the bright side, my trip is randomly to the same place DH already is, so we're counting this as a 13th anniversary trip, lol.

I have about a dozen plants to put in the ground. It’s going to be 63° today and 66° tomorrow so I’ve convinced myself it’s too cold to work outside today. I’m still in my pajamas, and truly shameless.

Do you have other problems the exterminator is coming for? Bc centipedes are harmless, and even helpful in the same way spiders are in that they eat other bugs.

They are so shifty and scary though. I used to be afraid of spiders but then I met a house centipede. Now spiders are my BFF (even the enormous black furry ones in my basement) bc I heard that they vie for the role of Master Bug Eater in the house, and I'd much rather have giant spiders!
I cleaned out my drawers and closets this week. I have an enormous contractor bag full of donations. I'd say my wardrobe is at least half from where I work now. I've basically given up on being dressed in trendy going-out style clothing and I better not ever have to go back to an office job. Oh well.

I get my 2nd vaccine on Monday. My first one did not hurt at all. My H said that his 1st hurt (he for his first about a week after me) pretty bad. So now I will go expecting my 2nd one to hurt. 😭
It's a beautiful day outside and I told my 11 year old that we'll gout for a walk to get some fresh air. She rolled her eyes at me and said a very begrudging okay. I know she'll have fun once we're out and probably spend a lot of time on the playground, but she is such a pre-teen. Ugh
beerlover, Our city has bulk trash pick up once a month. It really is awesomely convenient. And many things disappear from my yard before the city truck arrives.
I wish though that I could schedule a hazardous waste pickup. I have batteries, old cell phones, etc., and am too lazy to drive it all downtown.
My nephew, who is 33, has had problems with drugs and alcohol his entire adult life. Both using and dealing. Like he has spent time in prison, not jail for a few nights but prison for 2 years. He has been thru several treatment programs and then falls off the wagon.
We are hoping he has turned a corner. About 6 months ago, he admitted himself into an intensive program. (All the other times have been court ordered). The first 3 months were inpatient and now it's outpatient. He is staying on track, lives with 2 other non using men and found a great job.
I was at my parent's house this AM and he stopped over. He just bought a new car and wanted my dad (his grandfather) to see it. My dad had tears in his eyes. He is a recovering alcoholic who has been sober for 47 years and helps alot with younger people and addiction.
To see my nephew making all this progress is wonderful. He looks good, says he feels great and is trying to fix his life. I am so proud of him.
DS made it through his first week back in-person after being remote since November. I was so stressed about it, especially because middle school is awkward enough when you want to be there, but he decided he could do it and his engagement and grades already seem better. 1 week down, 10 to go!
